August CoroCoro Leaking {UPD1}

The latest edition of Japanese comic magazine CoroCoro has been leaked and we are currently translating it for any new information 🙂

  • Bear is called Kiteruguma. It is described as cute yet deadly. It is classified as the powerful-arms Pokémon. It’s hug is dangerously strong and people in the Alola region regularly put warning signs out. It is Normal/Fighting with abilities Fluffy/Klutz. It’s name is possibly a play on words for “to wear” and “it’s here!”
  • Deflated Pikachu-esque Pokémon is Mimikkyu. It is a Ghost/Fairy type with the ability Disguise and is said to lurk in the darkness. It is classified as the bakenokawa (a veil hiding a monster) Pokémon. The body is black and the Pikachu-looking part is actually cloth-like and covers it from the sun. The article warns people about looking under its veil. It’s name seems to come from ears, mimic and ~kkyu (cute/timid sounding),
UPD1: A clearer scan of a section with Mimikkyu’s information has surfaced: “The reason that Mimikkyu resembles Pikachu…!? It modelled itself after Pikachu goods that were all the rage 20 years ago?! It seems it wants to make friends with humans just like Pikachu“.<3 PJ

  1. So do you guys think we might have less HMs this time around, if surfing is done in more of a mamoswine in X and y kind of way? That might be cool…

  2. Just saw someone point out that in the quick scene where the battle royal is loading up one of the Player characters doesn’t have a hat!!! lol

  3. You guys. . . What if the bracelet makes Pokemkon Mega and Shape Change like Ash Greninja.. But.. if the Pokmon Cant do that.. due to not being fully evolved or not having a mega.. it Powers up the Attack after filling up sync gage like ok Pokemon Wii game

  4. I kinda have a feeling this synergy thing will act sort of like the combo moves from the Hoenn contests, where the type of your pokemon depends on the move it uses. It’s probably more intricate but that’s what I’m thinking.

  5. Wait a tick… Why is that idiot using a saddle-platform thing to ride Lapras??? Lapras literally has a built-in biological saddle-shell!

    • The people of Alola are weird. They have signs all over the region warning of a simple cearbear when they should have signs warning for Pokemon like Salandit…

      • Well tbf, the pokémon world is kinda like a worse version of Australia in the sense that literally 99% of the wildlife can kill you in some way. however, most of that wildlife won’t try and do it by hugging you to death Of Mice and Men Style…

    • I’m sorry but if you can’t stomach the spines on it’s back, you don’t deserve to ride Lapras, end of. Majestic AF pokémon don’t need no prissy noobs riding them.

  6. I guess peeps in the Jungle were right! The bracelet powers the Super Move for each type! Also, I don’t know if conventional surfing will return. I think we’re going to ride various Pokemon to surf.

  7. Guys, the leaker specifically said that while the trailer has this “Bond ability” [name according to them] stuff, it should ALSO have revealed “Copybara” and “Georilla” as well.
Idk why some are so quick to jump to conclusions, when it could still clearly be a coincidence.

  8. I bet Gogoat will be back too…And did anyone notice the Sharpedo one seems to be inspired by a jet ski with the mount and the way it hops on the waves? 😛

  9. Hmm…. So do you guys think that as your bond with your Pokemon gets stronger the super move will get stronger? Perhaps they ultimately can do something like ash greninja, although I’d rather that crud stay in the anime… The scene right before the fireworks made me think about this because we didn’t see a symbol like this appear when they used a bond move without a diamond with the first form starters:

  10. So there’s a Trainer Card/Case in-game. Yet the Chinese leaker says no Gyms or League. Maybe you really do create your own Alola League. Find Gym Leaders on the Island and ask them to come back to their Gyms. Sorta like a Volkner-wide depression of Leaders believing the Trainers in Alola are too weak, much like how Volkner ended up losing interest in battling.

  11. Oh my gosh, seriously though can we talk about how beautiful this game looks, like its so pretty! I’m in awe, dem graphics though <3

  12. I think my only fear(assuming we now have confirmation of the leaks) is the rate they are going with showing us the new Pokemon. Lets say for whatever reason the national trailers for this news show us the Pokemon the leaker says it’s supposed to. That means we will have almost a third of the Pokemon they stated were new in the game and with 4 months left before release…..I want at least some new Pokemon to discover damn it!! lol

        • I feel like I’d rather the stories to not involve the legendaries as much anymore. At this point we’ve had so many games where the evil team uses the power of them to do something. It’s kind of getting boring in my opinion lol

          • No, I agree to an extent. I just don’t feel X&Y did that very well. They could’ve done something cooler with life/death

    • Come on now, XY had a bunch of diverse and creative routes and locations, as many as previous gens. It’s just that (and I completely feel the same) they didn’t leave much of a lasting impression. That said Sun/Moon’s look like the best we’ve ever had!
