August CoroCoro Leaking {UPD1}

The latest edition of Japanese comic magazine CoroCoro has been leaked and we are currently translating it for any new information 🙂

  • Bear is called Kiteruguma. It is described as cute yet deadly. It is classified as the powerful-arms Pokémon. It’s hug is dangerously strong and people in the Alola region regularly put warning signs out. It is Normal/Fighting with abilities Fluffy/Klutz. It’s name is possibly a play on words for “to wear” and “it’s here!”
  • Deflated Pikachu-esque Pokémon is Mimikkyu. It is a Ghost/Fairy type with the ability Disguise and is said to lurk in the darkness. It is classified as the bakenokawa (a veil hiding a monster) Pokémon. The body is black and the Pikachu-looking part is actually cloth-like and covers it from the sun. The article warns people about looking under its veil. It’s name seems to come from ears, mimic and ~kkyu (cute/timid sounding),
    UPD1: A clearer scan of a section with Mimikkyu’s information has surfaced: “The reason that Mimikkyu resembles Pikachu…!? It modelled itself after Pikachu goods that were all the rage 20 years ago?! It seems it wants to make friends with humans just like Pikachu“.<3 PJ

  3. These trailers are telling a story, first shohei moved to hawaii and made new friends, in this one it seems he is on vacation visiting his family in japan, also you cant tell it is shohei since the trailer is in fpv but at least the actress used for the mom is the same one

  4. It’s very peculiar that they chose to show those Pokemon days before the release of CoroCoro. They likely wanted to reference those reveals beforehand so fans would be surprised, but it didn’t quite work out that way. Since they’ve been shown so early compared to Rockruff and Komala, I think it’s safe to assume that we’ll get English names on Thursday. I could be wrong, though!

      • Aren’t those paragraphs for each Pokemon interesting? They’ve made me appreciate every single design, whether I’ve liked them initially or not. They even convinced me that Bruxish was a good idea. I’m excited to see that they say about Mr. Panda and Pikaboo.

        • Yeah same <3 it gives every Pokemon personailty, and even if I am not fond of an idea, it gives it some redemption to know how it acts and stuff, and I grow to appreciate the thought that went behind it and the Pokemon itself <3 😀

  5. idk about anyone else but i feel like there was a bit of eevee in the trailer maybe we will get a new eevee form? just an idea, what do you guys think?

    • Listen change can be good. Are beating the gyms really the only thing that drives you to play Pokemon? they aren’t just going to leave that part completely barren. I’m sure there will be another kind of challenge to well…challenge us throughout the games.

        • Could mean that the actual story is more fulfilling this time around. They always us the formula of collecting gym badges as a crutch and this could give a more tantalizing story lol

    • lol not true yet, plus dont worry while i agree it seems odd this way, who knows maybe it will still be interesting how they tackle badges and stuff like that.

    • Hey, if the associated rumour that you are creating a pokémon league is true, maybe you go around finding and fighting strong trainers to recruit them as gym leaders?… Now messing with the basics is the sort of idea that would usually turn me off too but if gamefreak aren’t lazy and go all out with the idea, I genuinely think this might turn out to be an exciting and worthwhile direction to take. As much as we cherish those essential elements, it’s not unfair to say pokémon can seem a little creatively stale in some respects. If they do something different but manage to bring us back to usual business in the end, I’m all for it, as long as it’s good. They just need to put a little more effort (or a little more smart creative focus) than they did into XY, which seems to be happening, judging by everything shown so far.

  10. Just so you guys know, there’s an Amazon-exclusive steelbook containing both Sun and Moon. That’s what I’ll be getting for added convenience. Might as well pre-order now in case they sell out!

          • I don’t know. I could still be wrong, but I’m adamantly standing by the fact that it’s /something/. I just don’t know what. If you watch at .5 speed, it sparkles like an item and doesn’t look at all like a leaf.

  23. I have one big fear. I hope there’s not a lot of riding Pokemon Routes and that the Routes ACTUALLY HAVE TRAINERS instead of those lame ass Sky Trainers. If there is more Riding Pokemon Routes and they’re like X and Y they’ll compromise the game. Unless riding Pokemon is optional. Which it looks like in the Tauros part. As I can see a couple of bystanders. Maybe you slow down to talk and battle?

  24. – You can ride a multitude of different Pokemon: Lapras, Sharpedo, Stoutland, and Tauros confirmed thus far
    – Character Customization seems to now have more options
    – Pokemon Synchro is nothing compared to Mega-Evolution and enables a stronger attack akin to Burst Mode
    – Pokemon Amie is back with more options
    – Eevee has 8 evolutions, so no new Eevee evolution
    – Riding boat to get to different islands
    – The first trailer shows the character moving to Alola, this second one shows him revisiting his old home… coincidence?
    – UNDERWATER BATTLE?
    – Mimikkyu shown in a trade along with carebear
