A Chinese rumor about Pokémon Sun & Moon has seemingly gained credibility after predicting a Poison/Fire-type Pokémon which was fulfilled with the reveal of Salandit. You can read it below, translated by Cresselia~~ of Smogon Forums.
- There will be no traditional Gyms and no Pokémon League in Alola. Your goal is to actually create one. After you do, an Elite 4 will appear which are the leaders of each island
- The final starter evolutions will be an Archer, a Wrestler and a Siren
- The diamond stones will be collectible throughout the region and act similarly to Mega Stones but not exactly
- New Pokémon based on a dolphin, sea cucumber, snowman, mushroom and a rugby monkey are there
- Rockruff’s evolution is a Werewolf
- Mashadow, another copyrighted Pokémon name, has a very unique type combo
In addition, it seems that the majority of the images of the “leaked” starters (seen above) have mysteriously disappeared from Google image search. There is no way of knowing but it is possible official takedown notices have been sent to have them removed from search results. This is a warning: I may soon remove the images myself.

The dog and bunny thing look cute. That tiger though needs to gtfo. The bird is… ok I guess. I would love a game based on these characters without the tiger… not connected to Pokemon.

That’s just where its wings are supposed to be, but they’re not in the pic to show what the back looks like. It’s a reference pic for artists.

I can’t see a main series Pokemon game without Gyms and a league, it’s Pokemon’s formula.

Being as traditional Gyms are at the core of this series, I would personally hate to see them go. However, creating our own Gyms would be a fantastic idea, and could utilize a similar sharing system as Super Secret Bases from ORAS. As for the rest of the rumors… I personally don’t believe them, but the final evolutions for the starters would be fantastic if they are real.

God please no. I’d take anything just please, PLEASE give Popplio a different final evolution. This Gym thing seems unlikely and even if it’s true, making the trainers act as Gym Leaders would probably require you to beat them so it’s not that different. But I doubt it will happen. Making Rockruff into a werewolf seems pointless too when it could be a simple wolf. According to the official site it has only one evolution (well, from the wording of the text at least) and the base form doesn’t even look close to a werewolf. With a middle stage it would be possible but I don’t see it changing so drastically just like that. This thing about Marshadow might be true but then again, unique types aren’t that rare especially in this generation where we already got Cutiefly and Salandit. I just hope that these and the pic that Earthen posted a few minutes ago are fake…

3 reasons why this is all completely fake.
1. Copybara having a “new ability” that copies the opponents ability? Literally just Trace, not a new ability.
2. The starter final evo names are absolutely horendous.
3. Magearna is a Mythical and will not have anything to do with the plot, like every Mythical before it.
Oh, and also posts like this show up on 4chan several times a day, and none of them are ever real.

A leaker wouldn’t treat it as new though. A leaker would say it has a “new” ability that’s basically just Trace.
What is the copy ability was kind of like Smeargle’s sketch? It’s permanent. It could be interesting, but also a pain to get the correct ability that you want.

This actually would make more sense based on detailed themes and examples like Solgaleo with alchemy, Saladit mixing chemicals to create fire so this fits the bill I personally like it. It grew on me already
Looks much better. But fans create better designs all the time because fans actually know what fans want unlike GF who don’t give a flying fuck what fans want.
Too bad (albeit a bit bland), it would fit in with the circus motif that Popplio has.
Who knows, maybe they ARE going for a circus theme and we just can’t see it yet. They did go with a theme last time with RPG classes (ninja/thief, knight/paladin, mage).
If this is true, then this is the first generation where I dislike all three starters. At least all the other Pokemon look cool.

I love all the rumors except those damn final evos! From gen 1-4, they kept it simple with the finals. They just evolved into baddass animals. Gen 5 was the merge, where they were slightly becoming gimmicky, and gen 6 took the cake with going way too gimmicky with the themes. Gen 7 better not follow gen 6 with that shit!
Completely agree. Every final evo since Gen 4 was literally just a bigger more intimidating version of the starters – nothing too complex. But gen 6 and gen 7 (the concept art) feel really unnatural, like they’re wearing clothes or something

Why does everyone hate the idea of creating a league so much? While I still want there to be some challenge, we need some kind of change to the formula of eventually it’ll get stale. Changing the formula up a bit is something I think we need, but maybe not in this way.

Yes and no. You can only have 250 Pokemon stored at a time. You can transfer duplicates in order to make room. However, for 200 Pokecoins, you can get +50 storage. This can be done by using real money to pay for them, or being part of a local gym and earning coins through defending.
