With our final update for PJT scheduled tomorrow, what better time than now to talk about the competitive scene in Pokémon?
Competitive Battling in Pokémon really is a huge deal, there’s an annual World Championship tournament to find the world’s best Pokémon trainer, entire websites dedicated to battling and much, much more.
This JungleTalk is a relatively simple an broad one, just focusing on the competitive aspect of Pokémon as a whole. We want to know any memorable battles you’ve had, any cool sweeps or times you’ve fallen victim to an effective sweep, your favorite Pokémon you like to use in battle…

I think I’ll begin competitive battling next year onward.If I start early, I’ll walk away with my ass a deep shade of red xD
not rally next year youll probably get whoops alot too

I don’t see the point in waiting. If you start now you’ll begin learning and will be better than when you said you wanted to start.

your pokemon dont have to be lv 100 to be compettive, they are set to level 50

its a battling simulator. you can make teams and give them items, abilitys, EV’s and making a team usually doesnt take more then 10 minutes, then you can battle other people using smogon rules in OU,UU,Ubers,Lc,RU and NU,

no, you cant transfer them to games. its not like pokegen where you make completly broken pokemon to your game, its where you can make completely broken pokemon and use it in a battle. Whats good about this is that you can test teams, and learn competitive without waisting time training pokemon you may or may not use!

also if compettive this team will get swept in 2 minutes but for ingame its pretty good

first off you have 3 starters which i REALLY hate (IMO)
you have 2 fire types which are unnecessary
you have nothing to counter flying,dragon, dark
having three starters takes up so much space in the team when it should be used for the other pokemon
starters from other regions should stay in their region for gameplay other than compettive cause it takes away from the region excusive and make them less “unique”
gamefreak made you choose only one of the three starters for a reason
I AM TRAINING THEM.After I am done I’ll mix and match all the pokemon and form a party for comp.
having weakness in your ingame team is important too its not only for compettive its vital in ingame too
anf two fire types and 3 starters is just uneccesary
What I mean is once I train these these pokemon I’ll put them in the PC then in comp. battling I’l take other pokemon and these pokemon and mix and match and thing.Like,:

It’s not easy, especially if you’re breeding competitive shinies. You’ve got to know what you’re doing and be dedicated.

you need a good ditto with awesome IV’s for a shiny?shoot
no, the IV’s arn’t nescessary, i just do it so if i want to go competitive with the shiny, it will have the IV’s boost. but you just need a pokemon you want to breed, and a ditto from a different country than yours
or any male pokemon thats in the same egg group if its foreign will also work but ditto makes it easier

Yup, so: xD Just saw a MK8 match online where everyone wanted Rainbow Road except for one person, and that guy got picked for the level xD
And: I guess, yeah, if it counts, I was Random Battling Djja on Showdown, and I had 5 pokemon against his 1 Paralyzed Kevin Durant left. He used Swords Dance or something like that, I Encored him and then used Tailwinds. He somehow proceeded to kill OHKO Roserade, Articuno, Volbeat, and a couple others, and won the match xD

For Generation 7, I want visible entry hazards in battle.
I also want to see Legos be introduced as a new entry hazard. It drops all stats by 2 stages upon entry and deals 50% of HP.

Levitate / flying type / magic guard can not protect you
I’m surprised they haven’t added hazards to the battle screen like that yet. I was hoping to see it in ORAS.

There is no way to be 100% sure they will have a Rayquaza themed 3DS
You never really pay attention to the fact that craydol has levitate until you try using earthquake on one…
…and yet Magnezone doesn’t have Levitate.
Game Freak doesn’t just hand out Levitate to every pokémon that has a weakness to Ground…unless it’s Rotom or the Electross line.
But it floats using electromagnetism! There’s a move for that but why would you need to use it if you’re already floating to begin with? T-T

But Ground moves still affect it… Where’s the logic GF? >.<
The electromagnetism gives it Magnet Pull. To be honest I prefer the abilities it has over Levitate, they actually give it some offensive presence, as opposed to just making it immune to ground.
