PJT ‘14 — Sign-ups Opened for Stand-ins, Rules & More!

We opened sign-ups for our PokéJungle Tournament 2014 (or PJT ‘14, as we’re going to call it!) two days ago and within 24 hours all initial competitor slots were filled! We’re incredibly excited to see so many of you want to take part in our tournament and we can’t wait until we kick start off the first round.

Stand-in Sign-ups

It’s expected that a few of our competitors will have to drop out due to unforeseen circumstances, because of that we’re offering 10 more of our readers a chance to get in. The sign-ups below are for stand-in competitors, while it’s not guaranteed anyone who signs up for a stand-in position we’ll get to participate in the tournament, you’ll be our first port of call should we need more players. There will be 10 slots available for stand-in players, and should we require one of you to take part in the tournament we will randomly select names from the list to fill tournament slots.

Stand-in sign-ups should be completed using the form below, but please remember spaces are limited! Since closing sign-ups we’ve had two spots freed up, which means we’re actually offering the first two stand-on sign-ups the final two places in our tournament, so act fast!

Confirmed Competitors

Though everyone who signed-up to the tournament has been given a place, we thought it best to display a list of competitors who have successfully gained, that can be found below! If any of you wish to withdraw from the tournament we will be providing a withdrawal form nearer the start of the tournament. Of course, you can also contact us in any other way beforehand.

Tournament Rules

Perhaps most importantly for this post, we’ve decided to share the first revision of our Official Tournament Rules. For the most part these will be the final rules we use in the tournament, though we’re still making adjustments here and there to perfectly tailor them. If after reading them you no longer wish to partake, that’s absolutely fine and as we said above: let us know and we will withdraw you from the tournament.

The PokéJungle Summer 2014 Tournament will use a rule set that has been modified from the VGC ‘14 Season Official rules. All players taking part in the tournament are required to abide by all rules set out below. Anyone found breaking them will be disqualified immediately. As well as following these rules players are expected to conduct themselves with common courtesy before, during and after the battle period.

Players will be responsible for arranging when a battle will take place, although we will provide platforms for you to do so. After the battle both players must report the results of the battle. We ask that all players save their battles in their Vs. Recorder so that it can be used for confirmation of battle results if a dispute occurs.

Pokémon

When choosing Pokémon to take part in the PokéJungle Tournament, it’s important they all conform to our rules for entry, as seen below.

  • All Pokémon must be legitimately obtainable in Pokémon X & Y. We are allowing transferring of Pokémon from older games through Poké Transporter
  • The following Pokémon are banned: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde.
  • Species Clause: No two Pokémon can share the same Pokédex number
  • Two or more Pokémon cannot have the same nickname in a team
  • Pokémon cannot be nicknamed using the name of another Pokémon. (For example naming a Sewaddle “Snover”)
  • Pokémon able to Mega Evolve are allowed to do so
  • Any Pokémon used by players that are above Level 50 will be lowered to Level 50. Pokémon below Level 50 will remain as they are
  • Players will be required to use 6 Pokémon throughout the tournament. These Pokémon will remain the same through the entire tournament and cannot be changed.

General

  • All matches will be played in the Singles, 6 VS. 6 format
  • Item Clause: No two Pokémon can hold the same held item
  • Your Pokémon team must remain the same through the entirety of the tournament. No changes are allowed unless we state otherwise
  • A disconnection from the battle will result in an automatic forfeit

Again, please remember that these rules for the most part are final, though we are still making adjustments. If you have any questions regarding the rules, or think we’ve got something wrong, please let us know in the comments and we’ll do our best to see to it.

  4. As the weekend begins… I’ll have much more time to organize things for Jade Jungle, especially on Sunday.
Lemme know if there’s anything specific you want me to answer, do, etc. It’s a team effort 🙂

  5. Geez there has been very few comments today .-.

I played Stadium today with my brother, he claimed that he was a Pokemon master and that he would beat me with his Jynx. His Jynx kept spamming Lovely Kiss and killed off a few members, I brought out Zapdos and paralyzed it, I then effectively defeated the vast majority of his team with Kangaskhan 😀 I won 2-0 because i accidentally switched in Nidoking once.

  7. So, in school, we’re doing group projects on hidden messages in songs, TV shows, etc. Our group was goofing around and found “Let it Go” on a YouTube video. We ended up using Frozen as our movie. xD Why’d I have to share this, idk.

  8. You know…
I just finished watching The Purge earlier today, and I’m wondering how its events can follow through in Jade Jungle, or the Pokemon world as a whole. We’ll need to make some changes due to the graphic content showcased in the movie, but the topic is fascinating.

The year’s 2022. The new Founding Fathers of America have, alongside the government, created an event that occurs once every year, called the Purge. For 12 hours, all weapons of Class 4 and above are legal, and all crime, including murder is legal. Emergency services and such are off until the following day.
The story follows a man and his two children and wife. At the beginning of the movie, he comes home from work, sets up the security systems, and prepares for the Purge. The man’s son observes the security camera, and lets a homeless man enter the home, after pleading to come in. (Some romance between the man’s daughter and an overaged man appear here).
A few hours in, these demonic species of people (people with creepy-ass masks) knock at the door and ask for the homeless man. They will spare the family in exchange for the man. The man had run around the house, hiding himself. The four go searching for the man, and eventually finds him with a gun at the daughter’s neck. He does not want to hurt the family, but also does not want to die. The man is shot by the wife, and then is taped up to a mattress, to be sent outside and given to the “Purgers.” The man rethinks his decision of doing that to the poor man, and lets him continue roaming around the home. The decision is made that they will fight the Purgers, since they had threatened to bring their equipment and eventually break into the home. The son is given a gun and is sent to the basement, and the remaining three spread out across the house. Things lead to one another, and the husband eventually dies. All of the Purgers are killed by the family and some nearby neighbors, who then decide to kill the family that they helped, too. The homeless man manages to prevent them from killing the family by poiting a gun at all of them. They then sit down and agree to have no more death or violence. The Purge shortly ends after, and as the neighbors are asked to leave the home, the mother, son and daughter watch the police and ambulence clean up the mess that has been made from this catastrophic event.
The credits state that the 2022 Purge was the “most successful yet,” and a 2023 is planned as well.

Sorry for the length, and for the irrelevence.
