PJT ‘14 — Sign-ups Opened for Stand-ins, Rules & More!

We opened sign-ups for our PokéJungle Tournament 2014 (or PJT ‘14, as we’re going to call it!) two days ago and within 24 hours all initial competitor slots were filled! We’re incredibly excited to see so many of you want to take part in our tournament and we can’t wait until we kick start off the first round.

Stand-in Sign-ups

It’s expected that a few of our competitors will have to drop out due to unforeseen circumstances, because of that we’re offering 10 more of our readers a chance to get in. The sign-ups below are for stand-in competitors, while it’s not guaranteed anyone who signs up for a stand-in position we’ll get to participate in the tournament, you’ll be our first port of call should we need more players. There will be 10 slots available for stand-in players, and should we require one of you to take part in the tournament we will randomly select names from the list to fill tournament slots.

Stand-in sign-ups should be completed using the form below, but please remember spaces are limited! Since closing sign-ups we’ve had two spots freed up, which means we’re actually offering the first two stand-on sign-ups the final two places in our tournament, so act fast!

Confirmed Competitors

Though everyone who signed-up to the tournament has been given a place, we thought it best to display a list of competitors who have successfully gained, that can be found below! If any of you wish to withdraw from the tournament we will be providing a withdrawal form nearer the start of the tournament. Of course, you can also contact us in any other way beforehand.

Tournament Rules

Perhaps most importantly for this post, we’ve decided to share the first revision of our Official Tournament Rules. For the most part these will be the final rules we use in the tournament, though we’re still making adjustments here and there to perfectly tailor them. If after reading them you no longer wish to partake, that’s absolutely fine and as we said above: let us know and we will withdraw you from the tournament.

The PokéJungle Summer 2014 Tournament will use a rule set that has been modified from the VGC ‘14 Season Official rules. All players taking part in the tournament are required to abide by all rules set out below. Anyone found breaking them will be disqualified immediately. As well as following these rules players are expected to conduct themselves with common courtesy before, during and after the battle period.

Players will be responsible for arranging when a battle will take place, although we will provide platforms for you to do so. After the battle both players must report the results of the battle. We ask that all players save their battles in their Vs. Recorder so that it can be used for confirmation of battle results if a dispute occurs.

Pokémon

When choosing Pokémon to take part in the PokéJungle Tournament, it’s important they all conform to our rules for entry, as seen below.

  • All Pokémon must be legitimately obtainable in Pokémon X & Y. We are allowing transferring of Pokémon from older games through Poké Transporter
  • The following Pokémon are banned: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde.
  • Species Clause: No two Pokémon can share the same Pokédex number
  • Two or more Pokémon cannot have the same nickname in a team
  • Pokémon cannot be nicknamed using the name of another Pokémon. (For example naming a Sewaddle “Snover”)
  • Pokémon able to Mega Evolve are allowed to do so
  • Any Pokémon used by players that are above Level 50 will be lowered to Level 50. Pokémon below Level 50 will remain as they are
  • Players will be required to use 6 Pokémon throughout the tournament. These Pokémon will remain the same through the entire tournament and cannot be changed.

General

  • All matches will be played in the Singles, 6 VS. 6 format
  • Item Clause: No two Pokémon can hold the same held item
  • Your Pokémon team must remain the same through the entirety of the tournament. No changes are allowed unless we state otherwise
  • A disconnection from the battle will result in an automatic forfeit

Again, please remember that these rules for the most part are final, though we are still making adjustments. If you have any questions regarding the rules, or think we’ve got something wrong, please let us know in the comments and we’ll do our best to see to it.

  1. Pokemaster, we need to come up with a way to alter the plot of The Purge and implement that into Jade Jungle OR create our own Pokemon game. Purgemon. 🙂

  3. @returnofdicie:disqus, if you want to include something like the Purge in JJ, maybe we can have something like an event where for 12 hours, you can’t heal your Pokémon in any way, and you have to go on a battling spree.

          • Though i agree other things should be takin to the chat and the serious things here like fangame discussion and etc but now both are empty :I

        • Actually its way more than one less one someone says hi they actually start a conversation that sometimes lasts a long time

          • i mean its one less comment for the user in general. If they dont say it, they prevent spam

          • Not completely random things, no. But somewhat random things, wynaut. Heck, we were talking about watermelon last week!

          • If this was the late 2013-early 2014 disqus there would be over 2,000 comments already, but we still haven’t touched 1,000… kinda sad how this is going quiet

          • Because people took it the wrong way! I’m sure the mods wouldn’t want this for their website! This isn’t what they meant it to be.

          • I don’t know… they don’t seem to be saying anything about it, i think they like it like this.

  4. So guys , i know it may seem we are in the doldrums of the time but we shouldn’t just point out its quiet.

While we have no news wynaught work on the fangame a lot more, i mean its community fangame so discussion about it is allowed ( i presume) we could get alot of work done

  6. FrostByte – I think the 1st purple city should be port related. You know, as the biggest port and city in Tthe region, etc.

  7. For a ghost gym I see a town that has a foggy area to it with a port. You need to use defog to head out into the sea since you can’t see anything. The port is empty and everyone stays inside their houses
    How does that sound :3

    Reply
    • Welllll Chip made the town already, so you’d have yo ask him. I REALLY like that defog idea though, and jf we could add that in, that’d be great.

      Reply
      • Well the looming fog in the town makes it mysterious and the fact it’s always foggy on the sea in the area means it opens potential for more water ghost types maybe

        Reply
          • Looking at the game it doesn’t have to be a gym town it could be an endgame town.
And with all the background and interesting mystery behind it, it opens a lot of potential for the endgame story line

          • Remember how in B and W there was that town where no one went outside at night? We’ll there wasn’t too much to do, so I wanted to create a town which had lots of things to do and unanswered questions

    • I already have it made and it wouldn’t follow this at all…
its in a forest and the gym is in an abandoned cathedral

      Reply
          • Again read further along the discussion and why are you being so rude…
I wasn’t trying or am being rude to you at all….

          • First, you don’t need to be so imprudent about assuming how i’m stating something; i wasn’t being “rude” at all, I’m merely saying we already have something for the ghost gym town; you’re giving an idea for it (which i was quoting above).

Then you say to read the discussions below, which i have been here for and participated in and i can assure you we never talked about possible ghost towns or anything so i really have no idea why you’re bringing it up.

If you wanted to say first that it didn’t have to be a gym town, then you wouldn’t have mentioned the ghost gym anywhere in your suggestion; since you did, it led me to believe that you meant for it to be the ghost gym town, which i replied by saying we already have something for it.

I know you weren’t trying to be rude or anything and were just saying a suggestion, but the rude part here is misinterpreting what someone else said and claiming them to be rude.

Sometimes it takes initiative to realize maybe you’re wrong; I’ve done it many times before even with suggesting stuff for JJ. Whenever i do, i leave it up to question and if someone has something to say about it, i take it into consideration. I don’t get defensive about anything.

Please next time take what others are telling you; if someone actually working on the game tells you it probably won’t work, chances are, it won’t work. This is something I’ve been trying to tell everyone for a while, that not everything can be added, not everything will be added, and what we already have probably won’t change.

If you take offense to anything i have said above, then i apologize; what i say isn’t meant to hurt anyone’s feelings and is purely supposed to be constructive

          • But the fact you ignored my comment saying it doesn’t have to be a ghost gym town earlier made me think you ignored everything else and just carried on

          • Even so, I wasn’t asking for it to be added, it was an idea. Nothing more. It wasn’t even intended for the game.
If you take initiative to read some ideas and instead of saying nope it won’t work, say I don’t really like it that much
You came across as rude and almost as if you was just shooting it Down. Next time be more considerate of peoples feelings I wasn’t denying or agreeing that I was wrong or right, I was just simply stating my idea for fun

        • I was mainly talking about the port part because it was already in a forest, and the fact that it’s raining already produces some fog (because that’s what rain does)

          Reply
          • But what if it was perpetual fog that hasn’t disappeared for years?, remember in the pokemon universe things don’t make sense

  8. I’m going to put the idea for the ghost gym town here so you all can see, because you’d be surprised how similar it is to @Themightykitsune:disqus

There’s this town in a forest and one day it just started raining; however the rain never stopped. The reason for this was because of climate changes due to pollution in other areas of the region. The rain continued to fall increasingly harder, creating puddles all over the town and creating a lake in the back of the town (due to flooding). Because of the massive amounts of rain, the people were forced to stay inside their homes. Another catch was that the leader of the town (the ghost leader) died due to the flooding (or some other reason) and also haunts the townspeople, keeping them inside.
