A new spin-off *game* for the Nintendo 3DS has recently been announced called ‘Pokémon Art Academy’. It features lessons on how to draw different Pokémon utilizing the touchscreen, although I can imagine someone using the non-XL/LL version may find the experience a bit cramped. There are different brush styles as well for more unique drawings. There are over 100 Pokémon included as far as instructions go. Drawings can be sent to friends via Miiverse as well. The game will be released in Japan on June 19 and retail for ￥3,619 (about $35 USD or 25 euros).

I absolutely love this *o* this is going to be a cool spin off being able to draw your favorite Pokémon just makes it even better.I’ve been practicing the past few months on drawing some and this game very well could help 😀 can’t wait to see more 🙂

It’s a bit… pricey. And this thing will be way better on a tablet because of a larger screen.
Nintendo, please either make an iOS version, or make your own tablet happen! (Knowing Nintendo’s strategy, none of these are likely to happen, but I can dream!) XD

I have some new Fakemon and a quesntion. So, this guy on dA, his name’s Kyeato-Region has watched me, and he faves my stuff and all, but whenever I’m thinking of changing the way I do things, he’s always really blunt and just says no. “you should finish all ten then put them into one page” “i dont like the painr splosh on the back” I’m wondering whether or not to block him.

Can I ask what program you use? Like do you draw, scan then use the program or directly on the program (I fear I’ve used the word program too many times now it sounds weird….program)

Hmmm…I was always going to buy Art Academy but never did, hopefully if this comes to the UK I might (wait for a price drop tho)
You still could order an American version, it would be in the same language.
Unless I’m missing something, 3DS games are region locked. So that wouldn’t work for Reece!

Well if you don’t intend to learn or draw you may not need this game then. Save the $35 and just learn at your own time with tutorials on the internet, works too!

I may love drawing but.. why not just draw on some paper or computer..? I think flipnote was more worthy for stuff like this cause it includes animating, being able to transfer files, and a much lower price.
