PJT ‘14 — Sign-ups Opened for Stand-ins, Rules & More!

We opened sign-ups for our PokéJungle Tournament 2014 (or PJT ‘14, as we’re going to call it!) two days ago and within 24 hours all initial competitor slots were filled! We’re incredibly excited to see so many of you want to take part in our tournament and we can’t wait until we kick start off the first round.

Stand-in Sign-ups

It’s expected that a few of our competitors will have to drop out due to unforeseen circumstances, because of that we’re offering 10 more of our readers a chance to get in. The sign-ups below are for stand-in competitors, while it’s not guaranteed anyone who signs up for a stand-in position we’ll get to participate in the tournament, you’ll be our first port of call should we need more players. There will be 10 slots available for stand-in players, and should we require one of you to take part in the tournament we will randomly select names from the list to fill tournament slots.

Stand-in sign-ups should be completed using the form below, but please remember spaces are limited! Since closing sign-ups we’ve had two spots freed up, which means we’re actually offering the first two stand-on sign-ups the final two places in our tournament, so act fast!

Confirmed Competitors

Though everyone who signed-up to the tournament has been given a place, we thought it best to display a list of competitors who have successfully gained, that can be found below! If any of you wish to withdraw from the tournament we will be providing a withdrawal form nearer the start of the tournament. Of course, you can also contact us in any other way beforehand.

Tournament Rules

Perhaps most importantly for this post, we’ve decided to share the first revision of our Official Tournament Rules. For the most part these will be the final rules we use in the tournament, though we’re still making adjustments here and there to perfectly tailor them. If after reading them you no longer wish to partake, that’s absolutely fine and as we said above: let us know and we will withdraw you from the tournament.

The PokéJungle Summer 2014 Tournament will use a rule set that has been modified from the VGC ‘14 Season Official rules. All players taking part in the tournament are required to abide by all rules set out below. Anyone found breaking them will be disqualified immediately. As well as following these rules players are expected to conduct themselves with common courtesy before, during and after the battle period.

Players will be responsible for arranging when a battle will take place, although we will provide platforms for you to do so. After the battle both players must report the results of the battle. We ask that all players save their battles in their Vs. Recorder so that it can be used for confirmation of battle results if a dispute occurs.

Pokémon

When choosing Pokémon to take part in the PokéJungle Tournament, it’s important they all conform to our rules for entry, as seen below.

  • All Pokémon must be legitimately obtainable in Pokémon X & Y. We are allowing transferring of Pokémon from older games through Poké Transporter
  • The following Pokémon are banned: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde.
  • Species Clause: No two Pokémon can share the same Pokédex number
  • Two or more Pokémon cannot have the same nickname in a team
  • Pokémon cannot be nicknamed using the name of another Pokémon. (For example naming a Sewaddle “Snover”)
  • Pokémon able to Mega Evolve are allowed to do so
  • Any Pokémon used by players that are above Level 50 will be lowered to Level 50. Pokémon below Level 50 will remain as they are
  • Players will be required to use 6 Pokémon throughout the tournament. These Pokémon will remain the same through the entire tournament and cannot be changed.

General

  • All matches will be played in the Singles, 6 VS. 6 format
  • Item Clause: No two Pokémon can hold the same held item
  • Your Pokémon team must remain the same through the entirety of the tournament. No changes are allowed unless we state otherwise
  • A disconnection from the battle will result in an automatic forfeit

Again, please remember that these rules for the most part are final, though we are still making adjustments. If you have any questions regarding the rules, or think we’ve got something wrong, please let us know in the comments and we’ll do our best to see to it.

  1. I hate to ask for it here, but does anyone have a Chespin with either Spikes or Synthesis (both would be GREAT)

      • Proto-Crystals are items used to obtain Proto-type Pokemon. Basically, using a proto-Crystal allows the pokemon to revert to the original design with possible retyping, new stats, moves, or abilities included. Think of it as evolution. There was once one species that branched off (Ex. Humans and Neanderthals) one species went extinct, the other continued living. The Proto-Crystal contains the essence of the lost Pokemon. Somewhat of a fossil like item, somewhat like an evolutionary stone. If it’s used on a Pokemon that has a Proto-Form. Such as Chikorita, the pokemon reverts back into the species that went extinct/which it evolved from. (Original design) If the Pokemon did not get a chance or was never redesigned into a pokemon. Ex. Honoguma and Kurusu ( Beta Fire and Water starters of Johto) They can be obtained in the game using the Proto-Crystals and a key item called the Protizer. Which will randomly select a Proto Pokemon that could not be obtained through regular means (The ones that were not redesigned — Honoguma, Kurusu, etc)

        • Okay. Sounds somewhat iffy though. Also, what would Flora’s goal be then? I could see Eda wanting to make factories and stuff to mine/use Proto-Crystals for power and money, but idk Flora.

          • Idunno. I’m not part of the story team o_o Mining works but how would that contribute to pollution other than the gases given off by mines.

          • Building factories and buldings and destryoing forests and etc in the process of getting land.

          • I know, but they’d fit in well. I was thinking Flora trying to restore the world to it’s natural beauty, bringing back the protocrystal pokemon that civilization killed off years ago?

          • Eda’s goals are solely my own darker desires
            Power…I want power

In Zahrre Legends say that there were two powerful Pokemon, One that plagued everything it touched, one that rejuvenated the land. they are now long gone, but I discovered that if i took drastic measures i could summon them back to our world, and if I did i could capture them both and harness their great power for my own gain

Basically what i would do if i “Completely” snapped

          • I could picture you taking all of the Proto-Crystals for yourself, and basically becoming the most powerful human being with Pokemon that no longer exist.

      • What? They’re items. Proto-Pokemon are different Pokemon. They’re technically different forms with different evolutionary branches. In the data, they’re treated as different Pokemon. This allowed for the name changes and stuff, so it was the most logical choice.

  2. Also, we have a nature and modern-day factoryish team, so I was wondering if, postgame, we could have a guy/team that is trying to catch the (hopefully) technology futuristic legendary. Also, for legends, what are we doing? Because I remember a Pollution horse Pokemon and am wondering what we should do for purification. Also, I think a Dragon/Steel Technological Dragon would be cool as yhe third legend.

  6. It’s been a while if anyone has noticed. IDK if I can enter, with the time I’ve had lately. In a few weeks, it’ll all be over, and I will have time again.

        • Yea i was kinda trying to make it a bit dino like but sense it’s mega evo i gave it a steel typeing and (hard to see) metal plates on it. I even thought up a new ability:metal break: The user stores up it’s inner power to be unleashed when HP. gets half or below. The longer the user stays above half HP. the more powerful the attack becomes.

  7. Assuming that the next region is based off of germany, as it is speculated, what kind of Pokemon do you think we’ll see there?

Also, IF more pokemon become available in X2 Y2 or Z ; What kind of Pokemon do you think we’ll discover? (Eastern Kalos)
