PJM Newsroom #2

by

Welcome to the second edition of PJM Newsroom! Let us immediately go to the first announcement of today!

Submissions for contest still open

Know you can still submit your bio and short story for the PJM contest! For details visit >>>HERE<<<. You still have plenty of time left but don’t wait too long because I neeeed submissions!

Name change and logo

Already announced in the contest write-up, PJNM will be shortened to PJM. We also have a (temporary) logo featuring Chespin from our in-house artist moving. From now on, Chespin will be the mascot for the magazine, like Sewaddle is for the site.

Tentative release date

We’re still aiming for a mid-February release date. The deadline for all the content is at the end of December, after which we can start putting everything together using Digital Publishing Software. We’ll be using Scribus, since it is open-source but a still relatively strong DSP.

Got feedback? You can still mail us!

If you want to hit us up with something, you can do so through [email protected]. This is also the place if you’ve got any concerns, complaints, or crazy ideas. We’ll normally get back to you in one day, and we even reply faster on weekends too!

Content announcement

For this week we’ll reveal the staff-focused section. The first few pages will include a page with a picture of every staff member along with a short bio, a poll among the whole staff and two interviews featuring the man behind the site himself and Daedardus! If there is something you really want to know about those two staff members, you can ask so through the email provided earlier.

We have to admit news is calm at the moment, but we’re exploring options to make things more interesting. More on that later. See you next time!

  7. Hey guys, I’me creating a team and I need some feedback.
Crobat (lead). Sets up rain dance, has u-turn switch, posing fang for them fairies, and roost.
Heliolisk. Dry skin to benefit from rain, thunder has 100%accuracy, surf and grass knot for coverage, and volt switch.
Ferrothorn. Wall that can take many hits. Benefits from rain because fire is weakened. Set up stealth rock and leech seed, gyro ball and power whip for coverage.
Gardevour. Using for mega. ??? Need help with moveset.
2 other pokemon, I need help please!!

    • You should definitely put Focus Miss on Gardevoir
      Moonblast is also essential
Psychic or Psyshock depending on your situation
Calm Mind or another move for coverage

    • I would get Taunt on that Crobat, that way it can be an anti-lead. Taunting away SR/Spike set up as well as opposing weather. Or U-turning out if its in trouble or to keep momentum. You’ll want a bulky water type to keep the rain going. Mega Gyarados could work better than Gardevoir. Then maybe some Pokémon that benefit from rain, Dragonite, Toxicroak, Jolteon, etc.

  9. 🙁 I’m losing all my Wi-Fi battles because everyone IV trains for a perfect pokemon and movesets. All I use is super training. I’m such a novice. 🙁

  15. What was the biggest surprise for X and Y for you ever since it was announced? Personally, it was the Charizard X surprise visit in Origins….

  18. Good moveset for mega Gyrados? I’m using a crobat with rain dance, so should I give it to him as well? I know nothing about competetive! :/

  23. extreme off topicness, watching newest episode of amazing world of gumball called “The Internet”, it is literally the best and truest thing in the world

      • definitely x_x
alejandro so seemed like he was gonna win/finally reveal the bad guy, which they already STOPPED in the Revenge season, and yet they made him not tell too :l complete disappointment.

now i cheer for no character cause he was one of the characters i was hoping would win XD; all my other fav characters already got kicked out. though scott is funny this season so i guess its worth the stay :c

          • i dont like how major they changed all the characters’ behavior and personalities xD; its so obvious , it bothers me

          • yea she’s still mean. but then this season, she became sorta.. oblivious/not smart anymore oxo so they sorta ruined that trait of her.

          • I really do not like shows with relationships like it has, probably my main problem with the newest season of Adventure Time, too much relationship bullshit, less awesome humor that made adventure time the thing it is today, main reason I like BMO episodes so much

          • yes! DX
i like that they give more plot to the whole series now. the war and how some past stuff used to be like, but who finn ends up being with or his sorrow isn’t that interesting in a show called ADVENTURE time .x. ;; though sometimes i dont mind the love moments they have, i just think they get off topic of the show too much xD
and i noticed a big personality change in that series too o_o and sometimes inconsistency. like some episodes, jake is all chill but another episode hes smart, then the next, hes stupid and messes everything up. and ever since the first flame princess episode, pb became a jerk D: … am i the only one who noticed that? they changed her so much. just look at the episode The Suitor.

          • yeah, a lot of shows now are suffering personality inconsistency, family guy (though consistency never had a place in this show to begin with), spongebob, and now adventure time

          • Jake is someone who is smart, but has a personality to relax. And PB is just to focused on her science stuff to be nice. Although this series has gotten a lot interesting IMO, I’m not gonna deny it’s taken a new outlook with how it is setup. The writing has still remained good…

          • I know, or at least, in some episodes he was like that, but then there’s episodes like Princess Cookie [if it was even called that XD the one with the crazy cookie] where he COMPLETELY changed. he cared and was willing to go through everything for that Cookie, yet in other episodes, he’s like “eh screw it” to others.

And .. now that I think about it, maybe that is why PB changed. before she was just into being a nice princess. she wasnt that serious back then, but now shes messing with some heavy science stuff, so it’d make sense why she became harsher.

its definitely good and interesting how they make up some episodes now. i definitely love it, but some changes are sorta noticeable to me XD

          • These changes make the series better IMO. It makes the series more dynamic and keeps things fresh in a GOOD way.

          • I’m fine with the relationship stuff. Adventure Time started off with Finn trying to get with PB. And it really shows some character for Finn. Good or bad. The BMO episodes are the best though.

          • It’s poorly written now. More of a milked series now… When it first came out, there was nothing like it, but now it’s the same old same old. And I hate how they change the ending in the English version. They better people win in the non-American version. I was sooo pissed when Owen won instead of Gwen.

          • Well it was originally supposed to be a parody of Lost and those survival shows, which it succeeded in. Now they are just “milking” a parody.

          • Drawn Together did a much better job parodying reality shows like Lost (probably because it could use raunchier humor since it was a Comedy Central cartoon)

          • 100% agreed.
they actually had a nice style the first season. i remember watching it in the mornings. buuutt.. they just really.. need to let it die. everyone’s asking for it at this point.

            just like another series that’s been going on forever and ever… -looks at spongebob- ;-;

          • MAD’s not that bad, its just that sketch shows are pretty irrelevant and outdated because of stuff like youtube, but johnny test and annoying orange needed to go long ago (and annoying orange hasn’t even been one year old yet at least on tv)

          • Drawn Together’s movie was sooo very raunchy, but so very funny. “Look! A Dinosaur with a boner!” XD

          • Same here. I was like DAFAQ (Not trying to curse) in my house. It has gotten really stale. If you don’t introduce a new concept to something. It gets old. The series is really poorly done now. It’s not as funny as before!

          • It’s just rinsing and repeating everything. Whenever they hype someone *COUGH* Gwen *COUGH* they just make the person fail… It’s a good twist sometimes, just not done right…

          • theyve really ruined gwen for me ever since she cheated on trent .x. ;; then theyre trying to make her look better this season, but its definitely not working for me xD

          • That kind of twist (as you said) is good, if it is done correctly. They did it so poorly. They show is just awful now. I went on Wikipedia and saw all the season. Next is going to be “Total Drama: Pahkitew Island”. Now this is going to suck.

    • All in All. I think Cartoon Network is getting some really (might I stress really) bad cartoons. The only cartoon I like on there is Amazing World of Gumball & Regular Show. I used to like Adventure Time. Then, it became bad. I’m looking forward to Steven Universe and the other shows. Still, I think it time that Hanna Barbara came back on Cartoon Network! 😉 (Also, Total Drama Island needs to end.)

      • Gumball is one of my alltime favorite cartoons of all time, fantastic humor, stunning visuals, and here’s a shock, LIKABLE CHARACTERS (seriously there are so many shows, even ones I like, that have lots of detestable characters)

      • Steven Universe is awesome, you’ll probably like it. I’m personally not a Hannah Barbera fanatic (especially at how many Scooby Doo specials air on CN)

      • amazing world of gumball = perfect to me <3
i saw the new episodes of steven universe yesterday and theyre getting more interesting XD /was getting tired of them spamming the same episodes over and over as if theyre amazing
