I still remember the first year the 3DS launched. It was one rough year, with barely any worthwhile games released for the system. After half a year a massive price cut was issued and people thought Nintendo were doomed forever. Nintendo put all their effort in making the 3DS the success it should have been. After a lukewarm 2012 Nintendo tried to hit back with big hits in 2013, one of those being Pokémon X & Y.
People were saying for over two years that they would never the failure that is 3DS, but the tides seem to have turned looking back at the recent hardware sales. Now I ask you: did Pokémon pull you over? Or did you already have a 3DS well before Pokémon was even announced? Or were it multiple games that made you buy it but Pokémon was the decisive factor? Tell me all about it in the comments!

question: What is your least favorite grass type starter? Mine least favorite is snivy. I don’t hate it, I just like it the least out of all of the rest :/
none, love ’em all. I will admit going through the game with snivy is a pain in the ass. its pretty bad when you’re starter is the worst on your team…

well bayleef learns reflect and light screen early game, so yeah its very hard to lose in game (especially one as easy as gold/silver) with those moves.

Yeah. The other grass ones could take hits and do great damage, Serperior had to set up to do so, although Outrage + Coil is amazing.

Hey guys, I need a little spot of help. I’m trying to think of a good moveset for my Greninja (Torrent not protean). It’s a timid nature, can’t do anything about that, and it knows scald and ice beam as well as smack down and lick. I want to get rid of smack down and lick but I don’t know what to replace them with. Any ideas?
dark pulse is a good move. even though you don’t like priority, you never know when you’ll need to go first, so I suggest shadow sneak or water shuriken

It has poor physical defense. If you are using it as a wall you’re doing it wrong. It’s sp defense is pretty decent though.

Competitively I guess it can’t do anything special, but its just as good as the other two in-game
Delphox is just more balanced with speed, Sp. Attack, and Sp. Defense. Greninja has good speed but it’s sp. Attack isn’t that great. With the right moves and support Delphox could be better than both.
It doesn’t have enough coverage, sadly.
Actually, it can learn solar Beam, taking care of Greninja if set up correctly; Greninja could move faster and take it out but anything is possible with those defensive stats. Chesnaught’s sp. Defense stats aren’t the best and Delphox can easily move in and wipe it out.
Solarbeam if used with Drought, but Chesnaught gets Earthquake and Stone Miss. Greninja could use Water Shuriken, Surf of even Dark Pulse. Delphox is good, just not that good…

Nah. Almost anything could be good if used correctly. Abomasnow has the most weaknesses and I’ve been swept by one. And I take that back. I’ll start on one once im done leveling up.

The problem with Delphox is that it’s good but other pokemon can do what it does better. Which is why Delphox isn’t that special competitively.
Greninja is pretty overrated, its offense isn’t that great, its move pool is really lacking, really the only thing people want it for is its hidden ability.
chesnaught+ super trained speed stat+earthquake/rock slide= death to all delphoxes
What if you supertrained Delphox’s defense? Or super trained Delphox’s already good speed? Ches’ sp defense is so poor Delphox would annihilate it.

Chespin can kill delphox with ease. IT SURVIVED A PSYCHIC FROM IT TWICE. Delphox needs to step up it’s game, that is if it wants to stop getting completely flattened by my grass-fighting type Chesnaught.

A LEVEL 30 ONIX ROCK TOMB
Rock Tomb has 60 power, which was boosted by STAB which boosts attack by 50%. No shit it would kill it.
VS A Level 46 delphox. There is legitimately no excuse for that, other than delphox sucking (which it does, competetively at least)
Defensively it sucks. Offensively, it rocks.
It doesn’t suck. It’ll just be lower tier because other mons can do what it does better. Serebii said Delphox is just not special, though their wording was a bit cruel. It’s a little unfair to say it sucks because of its low defense despite having great offense. You realize Greninja has awful defense, but its speed is great so people praise it…Chesnaught isn’t great offensively but defensively it’s useful…Delphox has poor defense but its special attributes are the best of the three. :/

My Delphox got hit with a Rock Slide/Stone Edge (can’t remember) an survived by the skin of its teeth. I guess it depends what you EV train it for, its nature, and IVs.
Special Attack may not be great, but it’s right where it needs to be to do damage, there are plenty of Pokemon with around 100 base attack stats that remain capable of doing damage. And being able to get STAB on basically anything it wants to use helps too.
My Greninja is physical and doesn’t have a negative nature on special attack (it benefits speed…oh god…). Funny enough, according to base stats, Delphox has better defense than Greninja…
So? He’s a Ninja. Ninja’s aren’t traditionally the most durable things, but his job is to get in there, hit something and get out. Each one can be usable for different reasons, hell I think the idea that Delphox can’t do anything is stupid because it is still a Fire/Psychic type, which we functionally only have one other, which is the Legendary Victini, as Zen Mode Darmantian is really hard to use. Give’s it a nice niche among fire types.

Indeed. I really think each one can be quite usable in their own way. Getting bulletproof is a GIGANTIC boon for Chesnaught, Greninja being more fast than anything is important as the STAB helps make up for it’s lower attacking stats, so having that speed is great, and once again, Fire/Psychic gives Delphox some unique utility. Is a shame it doesn’t learn a few more moves, Focus Miss would be nice. Just really need to see what all egg moves everyone fully gets, I doubt we have discovered them all yet.

I actually used to like the goomy line, then people started worshipping him and constantly mentioning him and thats when I planned to make sure to release every goomy, sliggoo, or goodra I get on wonder trade and to never show mercy to any of those pus-filled slimeballs in battle
