Dae asks: Did you buy a 3DS for Pokémon?

I still remember the first year the 3DS launched. It was one rough year, with barely any worthwhile games released for the system. After half a year a massive price cut was issued and people thought Nintendo were doomed forever. Nintendo put all their effort in making the 3DS the success it should have been. After a lukewarm 2012 Nintendo tried to hit back with big hits in 2013, one of those being Pokémon X & Y.

People were saying for over two years that they would never the failure that is 3DS, but the tides seem to have turned looking back at the recent hardware sales. Now I ask you: did Pokémon pull you over? Or did you already have a 3DS well before Pokémon was even announced? Or were it multiple games that made you buy it but Pokémon was the decisive factor? Tell me all about it in the comments!

  1. You see, their are different dialects in the Pokemon world. For example, some say that you are “Slaking” off like the stereotypical Unovian folk, but Kalosians say that you are “Slowking” off.

  4. Mega Heracross’ stats at Lv. 52 with max IV’s in Attack and Defense, and maxed out EV’s in Attack and Speed: (Keep in mind that Heracross’ base Speed drops a bit when it Mega Evolves.

  14. guys I got some terrible news: After I did a system transfer from my old 3ds, my entire friend roster was deleted! my friend code changed too, so its not the same as the ones you have. please add me, i’d like all my friends back!

  16. Pokémon did pull me to the 3DS, but it wasn’t XY, it was BW. I don’t know when BW were released in North America, but I bought Black on April 2011, after the Victini Event 🙁 . It had been a really long time since I played Pokémon (the last one I played was FR). I skipped Gen IV because I didn’t have a DS and I was done with the franchise. It wasn’t until my friend told me about BW which made me want to get Black. I saw a few trailers and gameplays and it looked amazing! So I bought it and the 3DS because it was the newest console and could play DS games. I could have gone for the cheaper DSi, but I’m so glad I didn’t! After B2W2 were announced for DS, I was 100% convinced that GF would NEVER make a 3DS main story Pokémon game. Oh how wrong I was on January 8th!
