The pictures above purport to be from a review copy of Pokémon X. As you can see, they claim that this is the final evolution of Froakie, Greninja, and a new Flying/Fighting-type Pokémon called Hawlucha. The latter Pokémon also has a new Fighting-type attack called Flying Press.
UPD2: A new image has surfaced claiming to show the final evolution of Chespin from behind. This is from a different person than the person who posted Greninja & Hawlucha. UPD: Confirmed fake
The poster also mentioned that XP is also much easier to earn and that entire parties will get some from battles with the use of EXP Share, a key item found early in the game. He also mentioned that XY only introduce around 70 new Pokémon. He also said that there barely is any endgame, with you only being able to catch Mewtwo and the Z legendary.
UPD1: A new Pokémon has supposedly been photographed. No other details are currently known. Remember, we do not know if these Pokémon are real or fake, so please don’t consider them as either until they are proven one or the other.
UPD3: We broke the site record for most visits in one day! Also, be wary of all the ‘leaks’ out there, there are so much (blatant) fakes going around that the legit leaks may get lost in it!

Hmm…why they can’t just take pictures and leak them, how GF will know who doing that?
Well they can track the IP of person who first uploads the images, which can give them information of the country and area the uploader comes from. Not a lot of review copies go out so it wouldn’t take too long to launch a small investigation and find the offending reviewer.

Correct, but even then a thorough investigation into breach of information embargo could lead to the leaker being identified through checking email accounts etc. Not many reviewers would care enough about leaking a Pokemon Starter and risk losing their job just so we can see them 12 days early.
hmmmm…I don’t think, that would be risky, after all there are sd cards, rar passwords, private mails ect. it shouldn’t be that hard to do o_O

I like the names Greninja and Hawlucha (not Hawklucha) but I really don’t like these… Also I did hear that the Exp. Share is back to the Exp. All which is interesting and I like it 🙂 And only 70 new Pokemon? Urghh
this must be bullshit, because it’s like they made it for money, next gen we’ll get 50? it always been 100-150
As others have said though, there are mega evolutions as well so maybe that is why they have cut it down a bit.

Starter’s don’t come in Great Balls. In the summary it clearly shows Frogadier was obtained in a great ball. Starters come in Pokeballs.
Or it’s not the first Pokemon in the party. And it’s Pokeball is the one sticking out of the group.

True. That move just sounds generic and fake to me. But after closer inspection and warming up to it, I actually think the Frogadier evo may be real now. rumors will just be rumors man. we just have to be patient and see it for ourselves in the actual game. there’s only 2 weeks left anyway. and in my country Indonesia we probably won’t get it at the exact date and have to wait for another 2 or 3 days which sucks -__-

I hope they are fake, the evolution of frogadier looks terrible and has a terrible name. That and the the that there would only be 70 new pokemon would be a terrible disappointment if its real.

I was just thinking this. Cause one of the codes on the website titled “Gottacatchemall” (how fitting) is called “XY738A” which IMO meants 738 total Pokemon in XY, version A. 89 new Pokemon. We will probably get another batch 60-70 batch of Pokemon in version B of XY sometime next year as DLC as you say. Or in sequel games or Hoenn remakes.
Remember mewtwo’s source file name of “MewtwoX” and people didn’t want to believe it had two forms?

Yeah I was concerned about that too but after looking some stuff up I’m fairly certain that they are referencing the number of screenshots in the article – “Over 70 all-new Pokemon X and Y screenshots”
And what do you know. There are I think 72 screenshots there. So thankfully I don’t really think there is anything to support there being only 70 new Pokes so far.

The lowest number of new Pokémon introduced in a new generation was 100 (Generation II). I certainly hope this rumor is false.

Agreed! Also another leaker who claims she works for an Italian game company that is reviewing the game says Froakie’s final evolution is “Frogue”. Plus the Pokébeach leaker that said Inkay, Malamar, Meowstic and Pangoro were real, says it’s Water/Fighting type, covered in the dark blue we see on Frogadiers head, there is none of that dark blue “Greninja”!
Yes but a game reviewer on neogaf said everything but three things the leaker said were false. Yet if I were to guess I would say that these were the three things that were true:
– Reconfirmation that Meowstic has a pre-evolution named Espurr.
– Reconfirmation that Froakie’s final evolution is Water/Fighting. It looks similar to a poison dart frog. The dark blue now takes over its body almost entirely.
– The outfit your character wears at the start is colored to match what you’ve set as your favorite color in your 3DS settings. It can be changed easily though.
Another thing, the leaker of the images took them down and called them fake. However people say this is just a coverup.

Not necessarily in the past even numbered generation introduced less Pokemon. Generation 2 only brought 100 new Pokemon, and generation 4 brought 107 new Pokemon I think. Generation 6 should introduce around the same amount of Pokemon as Gen 2 and 4.

The leaker said Xerneas is 715 in the pokedex, so he meant there are only 70 pokemon, which I believe it’s fake!

I’m not really sure that there’ll be only 16 new undiscovered/unexpected Pokemon, and seeing that there’re soo many new Pokemon revelations compared to Gen IV announcement (Which are only 15ish pre-release pokemon if I remember) this is big chance gonna be a big roster

Not that I want there to be only 70 new Pokemon, but something to consider is the number of Pokemon from old generations appearing as wild Pokemon in this game. To be honest, considering every Pokemon had to be redone with a new 3d model, GF might have wanted to make use of all that work by making old Pokemon appear more frequently, minimizing the need for making more new ones. It’s definitely not like Unova, in other words.
Except that they already have 3d models for pokemon from gen1-gen5, because of the 3d Pokedex app.

That really doesn’t answer the question though. Just saying. Did Gamefreak actually confirm they used different models. If so citation. Cause to be honest they used the same variation of models between Pokemon Stadium all the way to Pokedex App adding new ones every Gen
They’re not the same models. It’s a completely different style.
I think they could possibly be the same models with a slightly lower poly count and lower res textures. It’s a waste of money to make 600+ new models when perfectly good ones already exist.
Touche. After a lot of comparing, it looks like the actual models are the same, and the majority or all of the poses are the same, but they’ve been reskinned with some very subtle tweaks. Subtle to the point where the tweaks may actually be just shit happening during the re-skinning process. (For instance, the spot on Bulbasaur’s left leg is in a different place)
Of course, that’s judging just on the released screenshots we have.

If there’s something I’ve learned is that if the leak is too good it’s fake, if the leak has a bad design then it’s true.. So maybe that’s froakie evolution (actually we cannot even understand its design so maybe it is not bad at all)

These are fake because why out of nowhere Froakie/Frogadier got rid of the bubble clouds? Radical changes like that don’t happen unless it’s a chrysalis/shell evolution beforehand. Second, the tounge scarf? Was that pulled out of their ass last second or what? Hawlucha it’s physiology doesn’t scream fighter to me, now had Staraptor was being released for gen 6 I could believe it cause he has reach and the appearance to be a fighter. And finally a massive blow to these lies do you notice the status screens where their genders, names and items are listed? They are black while on confirmed demos and screenshots they are brown while the background with the pokeball insignia is a light tan, while these alleged pictures backgrounds are white.
