Right now it’s 10:50PM, Japan Standard Time. I’m typing this up before I take a bath and go to sleep so I can get some rest before teaching a bunch of kids tomorrow at summer school. And after Friday ends… we’ll have new information from Saturday and Sunday’s “Pokémon Game Show”. The first day the site will be monitoring closely any news and break any new information to English-speaking fans. We’ve got NL and Kriff manning the translation booth and they continue to produce some of the highest quality translations in the Pokémon fandom. Hopefully some Japanese fans will post pictures.
On the second day (Sunday), I’ll be going myself to cover the event. I don’t anticipate digging up any exclusive information, it will probably all be spilled by Saturday, but I will be able to take pictures and give you a write up that gives you a little insight into what the event was like 🙂
For now, let’s take a quick look at what we might get based on past precedents.
PGS Expectations:
- Mega Evolutions featured in the demo. This was already confirmed by the Official Nintendo Magazine.
- New Pokémon! This was seen back when Black & White were first demoed, as well as Diamond and Pearl! (Fun fact: I played the demo for the 4th Gen in a gaming shop near my school in Osaka. Was fun to play with Roserade.)
- New merchandise. We don’t focus on it much, but there’ll probably be some cool stuff there for PGS-goers.
- …and more! No doubt the very first Pokémon Game Show will pack a few surprises for us 🙂
Everyone ready for the news rush this weekend?! I HOPE YOU ARE! Remember to stick to PokéJungle, we’re going to be giving you our all to get out all new information from the land of the rising sun 🙂

I get the first comment on my article….? That’s rare indeed.
I can’t wait for the demo!!! I hope we get lots of new megas!!!! Pokemon amie will also be cool!!!
Boy I hope a new Pokémon or two!
Me to, we only got 3 from corocoro which was disappointing.
Haha, I was hardly disappointed with the lack o reveals in Corocoro 🙂
Give me that thing that I love
I see what you did there
not here for megas, give me new pkmn any day – jynx evo please x
The BW Bus from 5th Gen revealed Audino and Emolga. Hopefully we’ll get some new stuff again this time. Myself and NLque will be keeping our eyes peeled for any rumours on Saturday, then PokéJungle himself can confirm them for us in person on Sunday. The stuff this guy does for his Junglers! 😀
Sadly I didn’t hear of this site until a Youtube user named ZypherSonic introduced his subscriber’s to this wonderful website and that wasn’t until the beginning of the introduction of Pokemon Black and White 2 so I missed out on the BW Bus or something like that. xD
I found out about this site a couple weeks ago from a comment on one of shofu’s videos!
LOL, I love watching Shofu’s videos. I watch his Pokemon X and Y Update videos all the time as well has his other amazing videos.
Ya bro! He’s definitely the mostly entertaining pokemon you tuber out there!
A belated welcome to you! 😀
I haven’t heard from Zeph in a while, I wonder how he is doing! 😀
I would translate for his subtitles, and the other staff would add a link to Smash Posts to pass on some viewers, then in exchange he would mention us and get us new visitors.
Glad we got one of our important visitors out of Zeph! 😀
“Glad we got one of our important visitors out of Zeph!”
WOW, “Important” thank you so much! xD
I’m so jealous. I’m important, too! Someone has to make stupid jokes, reply a lot, and write overly-long sentences.
??? “Someone has to make stupid jokes, reply a lot, and write overly-long sentences.”
That sounded like it was for me. Hmmmm, hmmmm. . .
No, that’s me! Will we have to settle this with a battle?
Naturally, when a trainer meets the eye of another trainer, it commences into a battle but since we’re mature enough I don’t think we need to battle. xD
Me too! I first came here like 2 days after X & Y revealed because of him. I can’t complain. (:
Snuggle up, everyone. (No homo)
ALL of the homo!
TeeHee!
=p
I understood that reference
Sounds exciting will we get any video footage of the demo? I really just want to see the game played properly so I can overreact to all the small details XD
I do exactly the same thing XD. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched the Smash coverage when they catch the Fletchling, Octillery and Inkay XD
LOL. I do the exact same thing! i overreact to all the small details! It seems like I’m the brother of that Pokemon Smash Woman lol.
Ha 😀 I remember this one episode where she was like “KAWAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!! KAAAAAAAAAAAAWAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!”
Don’t want to see her on drugs 😀
I had to sit down after that comment! XDDDDDDDDD
Here’s a picture of her eating cats 😀
http://img1.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spire2/6c1443570009955a3413482c555ebb011344871939_full.jpg
Wtf? Why is she eating cats?!?
She finds them cute so…she does this lol. It became quite a hot topic about her a few years back. She also likes wearing insect husks as headwear XD
I have no idea what to say to this… O.o
My thoughts on Pokemon Smash have changed forever. I shall call her: The Crazy Cat Lady! I wonder what the other hosts have done…
Most of them are comedians. Robert is a pretty awesome guy lol
Oh xD
She’s an animal freak. She goes chasing for snakes, eats snakes, wears clothing from insect body parts, and many other disgusting things.
Umm. That’s a bit disturbing…
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, sorry
KAWAIIIIIIIIIIIIIII !!!!!
KAAAAAAWAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIII !!!!!!!!!!
Oh god whut o_e
Aha, I knew I would find a comment without a downvote.
WTF?!?!?!?!?
This is extremely disturbing, now I don’t know if I can look at her the same on Pokemon smash.
Aaaaaaaaaawww!….eeeeeeeeewwww…
( 0_0). . .
(0_0). . . . . .
( 0_0) ~
I Have A Feeling This IS Her On Drugs. . .
“I’m wiser now, the foolish little, cute girl you used to know, so long ago. I’ll live my life the way I feel, no matter I WILL KEEP IT REAL. You know?”
-Dedicated to Cat Girl
-Stole some lyrics from Whitney Houston, R.I.P.
Nooo. How can she do that to a cat. thats animal cruelty
You think we’ll get any info on the XY anime series?
That would be great! XY Anime seems really good. Hopefully it is!
I concur! I think it would be a great build-up to the series hype although the Pokemon anime has been getting very bad ratings since Diamond and Pearl ended.
PS: Why Pokefan101 and Afarr get this much Down-votes? WOW. Phantom Voter, go away.
Yea. Diamond and Pearl were great. I didn’t enjoy Unova. Hopefully X & Y is amazing! It seems like it so far.
P.S. I don’t really care much about the dislikes. A troll is a troll. Remember best not to feed the troll! 🙂
I concur AGAIN. I think Diamond and Pearl were by far the best Pokemon anime since the Kento League. I think and hope that what people say about X and y are true.
I liked Advance better! Mostly because I was a 3rd Generation Kid. Yea, X & Y Anime seems to get off by a great start!
Same here, but after these past few years I have began noticing that diamond and pearl had a lot more flavour in it’s scripts compared to advanced.
REALLY!? I Prefer Unova over DP…
Same.
I hope, It’s about time!!! This series “prerelease period” has been really slow. Three years ago we already had travelling compaions and a nice batch of trustable rumors.
The will probably be something, because the official announcement promised news.
I know the Demo will be focused on Mega Pokemon! Hopefully some new Pokemon are shown! I really can’t wait! :3
Yeah I thought there would be no new info but now im sure their will be a decent amount.. YAAYY!! =]
There maybe some new Pokemon shown! In the Black and White Demo they showed quite a bit of new guys! Hopefully there is new Pokemon and Areas shown! I’m psyched for the demos to be shown! 😀
This new mammal needs a Pokémon version Stat!
http://resources0.news.com.au/images/2013/08/16/1226698/114536-olinguito.jpg
It’s a Olinguito
That thing was just discovered, there’s no way its getting in this late.
. . . Well of course… I was just saying In The Future… I didn’t know I had to type that part out. . . It was implied ( -_-)
HAHAHAHA! LOOK AT ITS WIKI PAGE! Apparently it was discovered by “Professor Samuel Oak of Pallet Town in the Kanto Region”!!! >_< I genuinely looked it up because I wanted to know more about it and found that haha.
I swear I didn't write it!! Hahahaha.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olinguito
*goes to page. *sees it was already removed. *goes to page history hoping for witty edit summary. *sees it was just “reverted vandalism”
I changed it back to Samuel Oak
Indeed ti was reverted vandalism. I just found it funny that we happened to be talking about the animal and a Pokémon reference was right there staring me in the face! 😛
Of course it’s been edited by now, it’s Wikipedia, they have more moderators than a teen chat site…
LOL! That’s so cute.
It’s just a smaller species of olingo (of which it’s not quite decided how many species there are). It’s not like it’s super unique. Granted, nobody really ever cares about the more unique carnivorans. I’d rather personally have a kinkajou or a regular olingo. But I’m a fan of all things procyonid. (And we haven’t really had a proper one – Zigzagoon has very little in common with raccoons other than tail stripes and a mask more like a ferret than a raccoon)
A binturong would also be good. Fun facts: kinkajous and binturongs are the only carnivorans (members of “Carnivora”) with prehensile tails. Bints also smell like fresh buttered popcorn.
Actually, we actually HAD specimens of olinguitos before now, but they were always assumed to be just a variation of olingo.
So I had an epiphany last night that pokemon-amie, the tower of mastery, and mega pokemon are all connected. I think that pokemon-amie and the tower of mastery will help strengthen the “bond” between you and you’re pokemon, and I think that bonding will be a new game mechanic (similar to happiness). What may occur, is that one of the other requirements to obtain the mega version of a pokemon is to be “complete” bond with you’re pokemon…just a thought..
Anyways i’m super stoked to see what The Pokémon Game Show has to offer!
This is what I’ve been thinking as well.
Pokemon Conquest: Had Bond Mechanic before it was cool.
Bonding/Happiness is actually one of the few requirements/restrictions about megavolution that wouldnt anger me. Im really nervous about megavolutions and just what the requirements will be to transform. I dont want it to be very restricting in battle.
there was a rumour about all of this that i liked (it was posted in 4chan and in GameFaqs as “Johan’s Rumours” or something like that. first, you should use Pokemon-Amie to improve your bond with your pokemon, then you had to go to the master tower and there you had to pass a test consisting in a series of battles that pushed your pokemon to its limits and, if you passed with a certain percentage, the pokemon could access its mega evolution. it can seem a bit long, but it shows that if you want to use that extra bonus, you have to work for it.
I’m really hoping some Mega Evolutions for 5th Gen Pokémon are revealed, I don’t want to see any of those guys left out. (´Ａ｀。)
(Also because MegaKlinklang would be one of the best things)
Yeah every Gen needs at least 1.. including this Gen. Im not worried though.. I am sure they will
So just to get an idea of what to expect, what all was revealed at the BW and the DP demos?
The link’s right there in the article: http://pokejungle.net/2010/08/10/new-black-and-white-details/
Sorry. I thought that was just underlined. I’m such an idiot. x-x
i hope we will get the starter evolutions
Did we get them last time?
i don’t know?
I think if we get them and level them up in the demo they will evolve, like the HG and SS demos. But if anything they may be similar to BW demo where they will be a too high enough of a level to evolve. But hay, you never know.
i just don’t want to pick my starter then restart cause i do not like it’s evolution
No we haven’t got the starter evolutions yet!
What megas do you hope will be released?
scizor
Me to I hope they design it well
so do i he is my favorite pokemon
for the Fully evolved starters
And kinda for Sableye, since its mawile’s counterpart and all.
What do you imagine a magasableye looking like? I think it could have a diamond coating and it could have wonder guard
Darker features and more focus on its gems for example
perhaps even Glove-like claws who knows? 😉
i’d go for second stage, not final.
you do know that i answered on the question of what mega’s we hope that would be released … right?
I want a MegaMiltank (Normal/Rock) just so Whitney can be battleable in XY. Maybe she’s the 8th Gym Leader! O.O
that would be funny if she was and she still cried when you beat her
And she could reference the player from GSC/HGSS.
girafarig. or an evolution. either way it needs a boost, and one of my favorite pokemon as well.
I’d love a Mega Jynx and Mr Mime. And maybe Gardevoir could get one, Valkyrie based maybe ?
Girafarig, Stantler, Corsola… maybe Mantine? I’m in love with second gen, and I feel there are many pokemon there that get little attention. Corsola and Qwilfish may require a real evolution first, though. Qwilfish in particular looks very incomplete.
if they don’t officially reveal orrotto yet then i will be suprised
me to, but they might not because every one knows about it
I hope that we at least get orotto’s sugimori art
i can wait for the art i would like to know his type and some attacks he uses
I want it be able to learn magical leaf. ^-^
oh and leaf storm to
Ingrain, shadow claw, glare, ominous wind…
mean look
Wood hammer, grass knot, snatch, seismic throw…
Excadrill, Cofagrigus and Galvantula were shown in a video in july 2010 but were officially revelated until september, and Tranquill was shown on a demo on august and was officially revelated after the release of the game, there are a lot of cases in every generation.
So excited! Really hoping for a Dunsparce evolution/Megaevolution or for more starter Megaevolutions!
Just asking, cuz I’ve noticed a similarity with all the comments… Why do they all (well, most of them) have 2 dislikes? O.o
There are trolls disliking every post.
Well, that’s kind of despicable, ain’t it? ._.
Yeah. I kind of wish there was a way for PJ to ban them from the comments section.
I can’t wait to see what this will show! Usually when I try to guess what will be revealed about pokemon, I’m completely wrong. So this time, I’m just gonna sit back and watch what they reveal! I’m so stoked!
Go away, phantom down voter!
Amen.
Ignore it. You’re just gonna attract the troll.
I think your comment scared him away!
Nope, he’s back…
Where is he? Get the security! GET THE SECURITY!!!
Glad you said it. There just disliking all the comments. :/ Trolls just be trolls.
Its good that they can only down vote once!
Yea!
Unless they are constantly clearing everything… =
Downvoting requires an account.
Well we have Dae here who is ready with his HAMMER OF JUSTICE AND LIGHTNING!
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DLNCKc3Mfkg/TXZ1_is533I/AAAAAAAACHw/b24mThSmXzE/s400/ban-hammer-featured1.jpg
YOU HAVE THE POWER!!! (yes I know I just referenced He Man).
I do find it strange that some people have the time to scroll down through every comment and press downvote on each one. It must have killed them when Megas were announced and there were about 100 comments coming in every minute!
Is it possible to check who the troll is?
Nope
Wish I lived in Japan, such a beautiful country!! I hope to see more info on Mega Evolution and of course MORE POKEMON :3
I miss living in Japan…
Yea! 😀
why does everyone get disliked for no reason?
Some idiot just likes doing it, its sad really.
Or idiots?
It’s more likely that it’s several people. It was probably one person but as more people complained others thought it might be fun to do this.
Some troll is trolling
People be trollin’. :/
I really hope this demo thing comes to eshop.
would be cool, but seems verry unlikely :/
I hope we get something similar to the PMD: GtI demo. We can start the game and transfer the data when the game comes out. GF could put a level cap on it if they really don’t want us seeing the starter evolutions.
that would be cool yeah, but still i don’t see GF doing so, you know?
their doing this special game show on it and some places to play the demo, which makes it seem the possibilty of an eshop demo verry small :/
But personally i think that your idea about it would be awesume
I doubt that! If it does it will just be a small look at the game!
I wish but that could happen closer to the release date like Mystery Dungeon Gates to Infinity. If it’s something that you download and that’s it, unless you could use it 1 time. lol
I don’t even think there will be a demo. If there is (like a stated below), it will be a very small demo. Also, it would be about 5-10 times you could play it. Almost like Mario and Luigi: Dream Team. Still, a Demo is possible.
Dream Team has a demo!?
Yea. You didn’t know that? Go check out the E-Shop now! 😀
Thank you!! I was thinking of getting the game but it wasn’t very appealing to me like X & Y so I wasn’t sure but I’ll know now :p
Only get the game if you played the previous ones. Otherwise 60% of the jokes get lost.
Your Right. Best to start playing with Superstar Saga. If you don’t you will not understand were many people come from.
I haven’t 😐 The demo just downloaded…
Just play the demo. It will give you a good look at the game! 😀 Yet, download a emulator(s) and get to playing Superstar Saga to Bowser’s Inside Story!
Dae, what did we see in the HG and SS demo, out of curiosity?
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwIKFcu4kBY
That’s the HG and SS Demo. That’s what we got in it. Hopefully it answered your question!
Ok sweet, honestly, I’m hoping that the X and Y demo’s are similar to this, like we get Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie to evolve once we reach a certain point and it evolves.
Yo. What if someone did that! Like they battle a bunch of wild Pokemon and leveled up the starters to evolve!
You sir deserve a million upvotes for thinki8ng of somehting so awsome
Go to Japan and play those demos. NOW. LOL xD
For Christmas, I’m getting Pokemon Y, Dream Team, A Link Between Worlds, and Fantasy Life. I really love the Mario RPGs. There fun! 😀
I love 3D land! I’m hoping I would get Animal Crossing New Leaf and Pokemon X & Y for my birthday/christmas. 😀 Recently I downloaded the original Super Mario Land on my 3DS you could get it if you like today is the last day though so you better hurry! https://club.nintendo.com/elite-status-gifts.do
Yes, please or my head will Exploud from sadness.
