It’ll probably only be like 10-20 minutes worth of gameplay. Maybe like going through a town + route or two routes (if I remember correctly d/p was through jubilife and route 203 and b/w was in iccirus city and route 8)

Alright, this has been bothering me for a while, but seriously: don’t the authors of these articles use spell check or something? It doesn’t speak well for the rep of this site when there are so many blatant spelling errors in the articles. And no; I’m not a grammar Nazi. I just happen to believe that, even on the Internet, the English language should be respected. I’m not bashing this site at all. I just think it wouldn’t hurt to make sure you aren’t misspelling words like “aerial” or using “began” in the wrong tense. Sorry if you guys don’t agree with me, but it’s the Internet; you don’t have to agree with me.

and yet they are not as both are words themselves, this is why spell check does not always work. Even was a miss print as the word should have been event. Ariel sounds like the word they were looking for and is not spelled wrong. Therefore they are not obvious errors.

yeah so I’m assuming it will include all the old Pokemon. So 649 plus Kalos, let’s say there’s at least 2 on each page…still a lot of other stuff to make it 800 pages. Oh boy 😀
It will be almost as heavy as a dictionary! But full of Pokemon! It will highly include (as you said) all 649 others! Also, the Kalos and Mega Pokemon! So, quite a bit!
I wonder if it includes Mega Pokémon or if a separate “mega dex” or something would be created..
They will probably include the mega forms with the Pokemon itself (because it’s kind of like a form change, no different movesets if they’re only activated in battle), and then a separate page with all the mega forms, and general info on them etc.
So, MegaLucario would be on the same page as Lucario. Yet, your right. Mega Evolution is more of a form change! But I think they will had a page for the Mega Pokemon itself!
I foresee this as that is what they did in b/w 1 and 2. plus it is going to be done in three regions I believe?

Glad Fire isn’t SE against Fairy. Often dragons carry flamethrower/fire fang etc for Ice-types

Nope, there is an option. When you go to use a move you can choose to Mega Evolve. For example, in the trailer Mega Blaziken immediately used Blast burn after Mega evolving.

In the trailer for Pokemon: The Origins, at the 0:33 mark, what is the Pokemon that is a statue? The closest I can come up with is a Charizard on four limbs. It is bugging me to death. I mean it really is.

From what I get of it, this image showed at the end of the video you saw when you completed the demo.
As for what it means, I think it points toward a stadium/colosseum game for WiiU. Or at least my take on it.
It was pulled a while back but the Masuda speech mentioned a Wii U game of Pokemon similar to Revolution and XD.

Personally, I’d rather have a Professor who turns out to be the Champion. He set you on your journey, and he is also your final and greatest opponent.
Here is my take on it:
-Sycamore is the Leader of Team Flare.
-Patrice later becomes the actual Professor and helps you beat him.
-Sycamore is the Champion, and Team Flare takes over Kalos once you get to the champion battle, having to chase them around the region (and maybe another region?)

I kinda had a feeling Mega-evolution would occur via button press. I hope they have enough PKMN mega-evolve so that teams aren’t so limited/restricted. Anyone competitively battling will be sure to have as many mega-evolutions as possible (assuming you can have more than 1 in your party).

Though based on the button press.. I wonder if it’s possible that how it works is that you basically could say you have a single ‘charge’ to trigger a Mega Evolution. But you could have MULTIPLE Mega Stones equipped, so you can choose based on what is going on which Pokemon to Mega Evolve, and thus use up your charge.
I haven’t seen anything officially state that. I think that is still speculative. I have seen that some people are speculating you can only have one during WiFi battles, but the official site hasn’t specified anything as of yet (to my knowledge).
I knew it since the world championships when Kangaskhan was transformed as soon as the guy said it and the battle had already begun.
Right, that there was my first assumption, but you never know if there may have been a slip-of-tongue or some Mega-evolutions activate differently (although I highly doubt that at this point).

Dark is long overdue for a gym. I can think of at least two types we’ve had in every region except Johto (water and electric). Depending on how you view the Striaton Gym, that makes four gyms apiece compared to dark’s zero. That makes no sense to me.

you know i could see this happening, gamefreak seems to always put something in one game like a test then the next game improves on it and be fully implemented, for all we know that could be one of the reasons mega evoultion was introduce and giving its own button to activate on screen. This doesn not sound very hard to do now, next game should be able to do this.
Idea:
– Someone gather all of the Japanese translations from the X/Y demo.
– Bring the gameplay together.
– Translate it to English, into a ROM.
– Then, we can all play it!
XD I know this is pretty much impossible, but it might be available as a ROM in Japanese…?

Maybe, but if he’s a Ninja, I’d think his speed might turn out to be his best stat, and he might be a bit weaker on the attacking front, but be the best at going mixed. At least, that’s the sense I kinda get. Chespin = Slow Physical tank, Fennekin = Special oriented, probably has some nice speed, may have a good Special Defense, Froakie = Really fast, fairly good attacking stats, probably lackluster defenses.

While we wait for more news, I thought I’d share some background as to the kind of pokemoner I am: My goal in the pokemon games has always been to catch ALL pokemon and train them ALL to lvl 100. In Black 2, I was able to get all 649 Pokemon and train them all to at least lvl 50. I hope with X/Y, I’ll be able to finally achieve my own definiton of Pokemon Master 😀

I find it really strange that they would make a series so similar to ash’s original story that is not relevant to the current release. I thought the animated series was always just an elaborate long-term promotion for the games and to give the brand more exposure. Pokemon is a business after-all …. so whats the catch??

As much as I love Pokemon news, as I’m sure most of you are all the same, I don’t expect any news until Corocoro. Sure, I would LOVE to see new Pokemon, but if they release too many Pokemon it takes away from the game. Maybe some small gameplay features, but that’s it. Hopefully PJ can fill us in with some small details that were otherwise overlooked.

I think the natures are meant to mostly represent their respective trainers. Blue being a general jerk and all of that could find it’s way to being Naughty, I’d definitely think Iris is Naive, Lance being Brave pretty much fits, inner focus even, just based on his storming Team Rocket without a second thought and so on. Though, where is Alder’s Volcarona?

Has anyone noticed how in Pokemon The Origin trailer, in the end Red is with Charizard and it had a necklace that glows. Mega Charizard confirmed?
Not only that, but Red is holding something in his hand as well. And it’s not even a necklace, it looks like it’s floating there even. Who knows, it very well could be.
And the way they are acting and are in, it most definitely seems like a Mega evo. Also is the show a special or series, cause some sites are saying every wed. in October but others say a special, so is it like a Special Anime or will it pull like a OVA video thing 4 times.
It likely will have a number of episodes, but they are probably stressing the Special point to make it clear this is NOT meant to be a regular series. an OVA probably sounds about right.
I honestly hope it lasts at least 25 episodes like a regular anime, but I maybe stretching a bit. IMO I just don’t see it being fit into 4 or less OVA’s seeing Fire Red had a Lot. But then again they managed to fit Persona 4 into 25 episodes easily and it had over 155 hours worth of content :9 Either way, they better get this over here to the states.
At the least, it’s looking like they are kind of taking a similar, serious approach like the anime trailer they did for Pokemon Black/White 2.
I hope hope hope that the new show is a couple of episodes or kinda like a movie, not the way they did it the mystery dungeon where they only did like 1 or 2 “episodes” and then nothing -.-
Its getting a big deal, if its going to be a show, its most likely going to be around 12-15 episodes seeing it is a game with less content (I’m using Persona 4 The Animation as a reference since its a LARGE game turned into an 25 episode Anime ).
i was thinking… Imagine if they did it with all the regions? Ahh why couldn’t they make the anime with the actual player characters instead of using Ash in all of them or at least make Ash be in Kanto, make someone that looks like Ethan for Johto and so on :/

I think the 5th gen one is about 590 pages long. If we divide that by the number of current pokemon (649) and times it by the number of pages in the X Y pokemon guide, (assuming the format is kept the same), we might expect around 725-730 pokemon in the 6th gen, though this probably includes Megas. It seems like a very small number of 6th gen pokemon though so this is probably not accurate.
In June it showed the battle starting with an anime style picture of the opponent, is this still there and the image transforms into the 3d model or do important characters get their 3d model in battles?

It seems that way. So it seems Fairy will be weak to Poison and Steel (yay for those two types) and strong against Dragon, Dark and Fighting. Immune to Dragon. And not very effective on Fire and Psychic
and to me this is perfect. poison and steel needed an offensive boost. psychic/fire needed a defensive boost.
fighting is already quite powerful so another weakness is good and now people can’t spam dragons everywhere. only thing is i don’t think dark deserved another weakness… and they should have made ice resist fairy
This is pretty much perfect for balance. I like this idea. Poison and Steel need to make a comeback. Maybe we will see some cool new poison and steel types this generation to help with the fairies.

well, i expected a new pokemon or mega pokemon, but it’s ok to know some minor details, like you activate MegaEvo through a button (cool button design) and i like the animation of the trainers when they lose!
Bad news guys. Apparently the D-Pad is the ONLY way to move on foot, and you can only move in 4 directions. (Or so it seems, not sure on that) The Circle Pad movement is reserved for the roller skates, riding Pokemon, and the bike.

The guy that wrote the article did reply to me (Check the comments on my account to find it) and he said that even those all of this is true, roller skates basically replace walking/running for most of the game, although apparently the roller skates move a bit slower while in tall grass.

I remember in the original games the gym statues didn’t really represent any particular monster, and given that it’s a story about pokemon Red and Blue/Green, I doubt they would put in a 6th gen pokemon evo. Nonetheless, there’s always a chance.

I actually have a Shiny Eevee I’ve yet to evolve, but it belongs to my brother, I’m just keeping it in my game until he regains interest in Pokémon. Unless he definitively tells me he will never play Pokémon again, the Eevee will stay unevolved, since Eevee is his favorite Pokémon. Plus, it’s got an Adamant nature, and Sylveon seems to be more like a special attacker…

Dry skin for helioptile is interesting. I wonder if it’l have an alternate ability for those who don’t want the fire weakness.
Helioptile is supposed to love sunlight, transforming the sun energy into electricity and Dry Skin is more related to rain. Don’t you thind it weird ?
I think it’s totally weird. Helioptile lives in the desert, where the sun is supposed to be shining all day, so it means it loses HP all the time?
I’m really hoping Chespin is BOTH defensive and special defensive. Finding out its speed was atrocious yesterday was a little disappointing, but by no means onixpected.
So it looks like Chespin will have 7 weaknesses (4 of which are covered by having a Rock Type move).
It’s also going to resist 6 types and have an immunity to Psychic.
Well if its speed is really that bad, I hope its super defensive in both stats to compensate for that, and give it a chance with all those weaknesses. Sadly, I think only its Defense will be great while its Special Defense will be pretty meh =/ Please let me be wrong about that.

No they don’t. 🙁
Unlikely since its a temporary evolution….however there may be a sort of “signature move” that they get when they mega evolve or moves they can only learn when they level up in mega form. This would mean that there would be further benefits to mega evolution as it would be a way of gaining new moves that you can keep even when not in mega form.
Maybe GameFreak decided to let Ampharos learn Dragon Pulse this gen. They did this with other Pokemon for Black/White 2.

Chespin’s HP at Lv. 30 is 83. Good or Bad? Seems pretty high for a base stage at that level, so possibly good HP stat?
I think he will be fairly tanky and slow kinda like Torterra, I’d prefer it that way anyways
I wouldn’t like Chespin having a stat distribution like Torterra lol. Since Chespin’s already been reported to be really slow, I’m hoping both its defenses are great.

It’s not as though we got nothing. True, we didn’t get any new Pokémon or Mega Evolutions yet, but we do at least now know that Sylveon has Cute Charm and Helioptile can have Dry Skin. Plus, we’re slowly getting a better idea of some of the new Pokémon’s base stats.

I’m saying GF would put that in the trailer so that people with good eyes will notice that it is a new pokemon. It’s not guaranteed; it’s just my assumption. You don’t have to agree with me.
The point is that the gym statues where different in first games (they were something like Rhydons). This creature doesn’t seem any known pokemon… and I don’t think that Nintendo would put a statue referencing to a non-existant creature with a such level of details (like the wings)

I think what really gets me is the fact that since the games have all the languages that are available on them already, they could basically just release the demo in English right now this second. I mean it’s not like they have to translate them and that’s the thing that’s keeping thm. Yet they choose to keep it exclusive and drag things out………I wish I could play the demo now………….lol
The demo may have been specially made and therefore may not have all of what the full game has to offer, including multiple languages.
Ya I guess, but they could prolly do it any of the languages at this point. If they really wanted to they could release one in English.

I find it funny that megamewtwo was still getting beat up kinda by dragonite.
That was barely a scratch, which makes it seem pretty powerful.

Game Show is about to start! Fingers crossed for some sort of Hoenn news! Perhaps a DLC region? Anything is possible!
I’m hoping for a new Pokémon or two, personally. Orotto at the very least. Maybe even new moves for Skrelp or Noivern.

Did it sound the same, but with a higher definition audio, or did it seem more like a complete ravamp? It’s always bothered me how you can tell the Pokemon’s generation from its cry. :3
