A picture from Ciao, a popular girl’s magazine in Japan that is owned by the same company that owns CoroCoro, has shown two brand new Pokemon from Pokemon X & Y!

Pokémon

  • “Peroriimu” is the evolution of Swirlix and is a pure Fairy-type.
  • “Furefuwan” is the evolution of Spritzee and is a pure Fairy-type.

UPD: Their English names have been officially revealed by the US Pokemon site! Peroriimu’s English name is Slurpuff, and Furefuwan’s English name is Aromatisse! Added HQ artwork as well as some in game screenshots.

      • Feminine isn’t quite the issue. Gardevoir looks fine, and I’d be hardpressed to find a more feminine looking design. No, “prissy” or “cutesy” would be the words I’d use. We don’t need this brutish, hypermasculine musclebeast (though I wouldn’t object to a Fairy/Fighting Minotaur), but just one or two that don’t… suck.

        • Xerneas is about the only one I really like, because it doesn’t look like a useless pink marshmallow. When this whole fairy rumor started making the rounds, this was exactly the road I was afraid they’d go down.

  34. Swirlix is based off cotton candy. I don’t know why people were expecting it to evolve into a damn dalmation dog or something. It was bound to evolve into bubblegum, or cake or something. In australia, they call cotton candy “fairy floss” which is probably why its fairy typed cotton candy. There is brands of fairy floss that you can chew and it turns into bubble gum.

      • I can’t explain its evo, but I’m positive Spritzee alone is based off a plague doctor. It is the “perfume” pokemon, and Plague Doctor’s wore a beak-like mask with a pleasant smell on the inside so they wouldn’t have to smell decay, sickness, odor’s while working. IMO, the decay is poison type that fairies are weak against. Hence the inspiratioon behind its design.

        It just seems like its evolution isn’t plague doctor inspired but more of a dancer or something.

    For me creative desings are more interesting than plain “getting big” ones like litleo->piroar.

      • Meh, to me they are just some Pokemon. Not my favourite in design, but I’m not going to berate them for no reason. If you like them, you like them, if not just move on and don’t use them. That’s my opinion.

        Although speaking of which this in one of the only times I’ve not been fond of a Pokemon design…guess they will grow on me over time.

    • I think a lot of people were expecting a plague doctor or a flamingo design for SPritzee which I was too but I think they’re fine. I like Swirlix’s cupcake design lol.

  49. Guys, the text in the top right corner reads, “Pokemon Type: Psychic” I’m assuming that this is the bottom line.
    What could this mean? The only pure Psychic-type we’ve seen is Meowstic, and the shape in the corner looks nothing like it.

  59. Remember when back in the day we weren’t hungry as heck for leaks? I miss those days. I get that we all want leaks and such. But in the end, the best leak of all is playing the game yourself. At some point we need to step back and call a quits and just wait and see the times roll by. I am happy with the actual amount of leaks we got so far. As well as the speculation. Not gonna be unhappy about what hasn’t been shown already just yet.

  69. I need to see these in animation! Um, Swirilix was my favorite. The nipple-like arms is what I can’t get passed, so maybe it has quilladin syndrome and will look better in action.

    To be honest, I kinda love the spritzee evolution! She looks like a fluffy little owl.

    I wonder if there is any possibility these will evolve for swirlix’s sake 🙁

  81. Are these real? Like, are they confirmed? Because that’s just kind of disappointing if they are real. Spritzee just has a bad hair day and Swirlix loses all it’s cotton candy fur and just becomes a cupcake?

    I was really think Spritzee would become a Fairy/Flying Flamingo, and that Swirlix would evolve into a big, fluffy, cotton candy covered Totoro like thing.

    Oh well. I’ll get over it. And still catch a Swirlix.

  85. Swirlix’s evo is a bit strange but logical, so I don’t mind, especially as Furfrou took the shaggy dog spot. I would’t be so dissspointed in Sprizee’d evo had I not expected a brilliant plague doctor/ flamingo. Gamefreak sure know their game: revealing a completely unexpected dragon-type charizard mega-evo everyone wanted, and then revealing slightly unimpressive evos that completely go against fan speculation in typical trollfreak style. Well, at least that leaves the possibility of a more interesting flamingo ( water/fire type named Flamengo anyone?)

  86. I’m indifferent to Swirlix’s evolution. But, man, I’m liking that Spritzee evo. It looks sort of… unsettling? Like, I can imagine its pupils shrinking to pinpricks and horrifying just about everything. For some reason, it also sort of reminds me of the Wendigo from Hannibal except pink and fluffy. Don’t know, still looks plague doctor-ish to me.

  92. As of now, we have 44 new Pokemon (these two and Fletchinder + Espurr included). So if there are only 70 new Pokemon in the game, that means there are only 26 new Pokemon left to reveal? Somehow that doesn’t sound right at all…Then again, Nintendo hasn’t really been leaking new Pokemon as much as they did with the last games.

      Also we can probably speculate other pokemon
      3 pokemon [for the trio]

      My guess for legendary pokemon other then these would probably be… 3-4?

  94. I’m laughing because I remember the hoards of people that were 100% adament that Spritzee had something to do with plague doctors. You know the sort; they get so deluded that their head canon becomes the truth to them.

  100. Does anyone else think it’s been pretty convenient that pretty much all the leaked content thus far have been more on the lines of teasers than spoilers? I mean, if there were really were shops in Canada and Italy handing out copies, there’d be countless people leaking photos and speed running the game in hopes of getting their fifteen minutes.
    Instead we have three people, all who each picked a different starter, going through the game at a pretty slow pace and mostly just showing teaser type content. I was checking kosthedin pretty frequently last night, and about 50% of all comments on his page were “Evolve Quilladin!” Instead, he spent a few hours posting pictures of game mechanics like grooming, bonding and the skate park before calling it quits.

    Imho if they did 90 minutes of animation for MegaCharizard X they did this too. They’ve created 3 false leaker.

    • I’m starting to think that we won’t be getting many new Pokemon at all…My excitement is steadily going down. I mean, if we were getting a lot of new Pokemon, Nintendo would be revealing a lot of them, especially since there’s only 10 days until the game officially releases.

        But yeah, they might be keeping it super hushhush this time because it’ll be new for EVERYONE.

I mean, it’s pokemon of the day today too. Could this be hinting at a Mega Golurk, or am i over analyzing the situation.

  119. So I felt guilty about my first post being in response to an off-topic comment, so I had to make another comment.
    I’m one who accepts all pokemon, never hating any of them. So when I first saw these two, I thought, “Cool, that’s nice, etc”. However, the more I looked at Swirlix, the funnier it got until I was nearly crying in laughter. It’s possibly the funniest pokemon ever, and I love him for it. I’ll likely never use him, but I so wanna see that little cupcake slay some dragons!

  124. I would’ve loved if this were marked with a spoiler image on the front page! But seeing as I’ve already seen them, I might as well share my thoughts…
    I was hoping to use Swirlix on my team, but now… I’m less sure. That evolution just looks so goofy and unimpressive, I’m starting to think about raising a Sylveon instead, or waiting to see what other Fairy-types crop up throughout the game. And I’m confused about the “legs” on Spritzee’s evolution. Is it just striking a pose, or are its legs awkwardly plopped on the front and back of its body?

  137. If the Fennekin final evolution is real… then I’m loving it. The robe-like fur and the fact that it looks like it’d be bros with Gardevoir and other elegant ‘mons. And the fact that Mages are usually my favorite class in RPGs. Tumblr doesn’t seem to like it though and I don’t know why. Maybe more biped hatred?

    I don’t understand why these leakers are stopping. There’s no legal action Nintendo can take against them. First we had that Kos leaker who started with Chespin. He gets Quilladin to the high 20s, and then while at school he posts “Got Nintendo’d.” Really?

    So then we had Jadieekong. And she had a Braixen, but she was working and was going to post more pictures later. Then she deletes all her photos, what?

    Now all we have left is this guy who was live streaming the game this morning. He has a Frogadier, but had to go to work. He said he would live stream again later, but now I doubt it.

    All three of these leakers started with a different starter, and two have deleted everything. Something smells really fishy -_-

    Weren’t these games sold to a lot of people early?

    • It could be instagram taking them down. Same way Youtube takes down copy written material if requested by copyright owner. But yeah really weird. Mostly the timing…right before they get to anything good.

    • KOSthedin is so full of balogney. He wrote to someone on youtube 2 hours ago that a lady representing nintendo came to his home with a case to retrieve his purchased X as well as a cease and desist letter. I don’t believe it one bit. He then went on to say “oh well, atleast I got my money back, I am def not buying Pokemon X or Y at all now, lost all interest in it after the incident”.

      Too farfetch’d for me. Why of all the hundreds/thousands of people that purchased it in Italy/Canada would they single him out and go to his house – when all he did was upload instagram pics. Their was a kid on reddit who posted the damn product number of his version X, how come he didn’t get a cease and desist? People just lazy and don’t wanna upload anything else. Shouldn’t of started it and got us rallied up for no reason.

While she was working, she posted a new pic the ice fossil poke, the one with refridgerate I can’t remember its name. Someone wrote to her is she still at work? And she said she is and that she probably won’t post any more pics until she gets home because ‘there is a lack of interest in my uploads</i?" which basically told me, because your follower count isn't raising as quick as KosTheDin's that you're going to choose to not upload?

      People are petty for followers. She then went on a removed all her pics from her account.

          • The main problem with that is I don’t know what their case would be, because they bought it at a store selling the game early *evidentially* when it wasn’t supposed to. They aren’t reviewers, at least as far as we can tell.

      • I read it as ‘there was not much of interest in the game to post’. Not ‘not enough people are showing interest in my posts’. And actually, I think that could be true. It’s not like the other leakers have showed us anything of MASSIVE interest yet. It’s as though all the new pokemon are squirreled away for post-game!

    • I agree. Maybe they were given those copies BY Nintendo themselves to tease people. I imagine that if stores actually had the games up on their shelves then we’d really have thousands of pictures of people and the fact that each of them chose a different starter is pretty suspicious too.

  140. Do we really know if there is a Y stone and a X stone? Has that been officially stated? Or is it only determined by the game you are playing. You have the ?-nite mega stone attached to ?-pokemon and because you are playing the Y game it changes to Y form and the same for playing the X version it would change to the X form. I watched both the Mewtwo video and the Charizard video and neither say you need a different stone, only that one is on game Y and one is on game X when you use the mega stone in them. Help me understand!

    • One of the leakers explicitly said he got a Charizardnite X when he got his Charmander. Which was our first tip off that something like today was going to happen. And actually, it says so directly on the main website, so they are individual items.

If this has any truth to it it just shows Nintendo is upping their social network skills the other week with the YouTube video and then the twitter #pokemonxy where everyone went to get the codes and all the other posts on various social media sites as well. This is just like that they used Instagram, YouTube, and many other social media sites again

  173. Some of you people are so negative and indecisive. Delphox is such a creative design, but you don’t bother looking past the looks.. The same can be said for Greninja, there is always a meaning behind a pokemon, no matter what it is, a cupcake or whatever. Just appreciate the artwork, fair enough you don’t like the design, but what about the typing? the personality? etc. Doesn’t that count too? None of you would even be capable of creating a better looking pokemon than Delphox or Greninja, soo please, before you criticise the designs, get to know the pokemon better? Ok? Bye!

        • Yeah, I was having somewhat similar thoughts… Actually though, wev’e SEEN the images for Lucario and Blaziken’s mega stone. It’s on th main site, they are just Lucarionite and Blazikenite. Plus, the leakers have said that getting bulbasaur, it just had Venusaurnite, no X or Y.

  188. I actually like Peroriimu design. Not going to be using it but I think it works really well. As for Furefuwan I was with the people who were hoping for the scary plauge doctor look. Though I really do love it’s face..just not to excited about the pink fluffball that grew on it’s body x3 I think I’ll still use it in my team unless another Fairy Pokemon catches my eye.

  208. I’m indifferent about Delphox (I saw it while listening to some Guetta and it fits perfectly for some reason). It’s a very unique and interesting design, but not quite what I expected. I still might pick it. I want Froakie’s final evolution, and then my mind will be made up. I just hope the stats are badass. I still don’t understand why people are hating on it so much though. It’s very cool and creative.

      • As of right now they are WAY better than the Unova starters. I chose Oshawott because it was the water type. These new starters make it very difficult to pick.

          • I normally go for the water starter. Except in Yellow(obvious reasons) and I had a hard time deciding for Gen three, but I had Ruby and Sapphire so I traded Treecko and Torchic to Sapphire and chose Mudkip. I had a team of all three!

          • I must have played Pokemon Emerald a good 20 times, played with each starter and loved them. They all seemed very balanced in-game.

            Gen 3 to this date contains my favourite starter designs, Legendary designs, and region design. In my opinion Hoenn was very unique in the concept of some of its cities, and Gen 3 introduced my all time favourite Metagross.
            Hoping for some good legends in XY now.

          • Of course. So far those are my favorites, though I was highly disappointed in the lack of animations, which were added and then sucked, and the lack of the day and night feature. Those were mu biggest complaints. Other than that, I had many good memories with those games, traveling in our camper with it in hand… And then I got grounded for some reason until like sixth grade. I don’t know why though. I hope remakes are just as good. I was slightly disappointed with Diamond and Pearl, but only because of the region layout. That was a terrible map. But I like the pokemon and of course Byron. Don’t have as many good memories with that game though.

    • IVs could just be higher for speed and lower for others. Chespin is definitely going to end up slower than the other starters

          • Yep, I was just randomly thinking to myself the other day (as i usually do), and some numbers just popped into my head.
            HP 100, Attack 100, Defence, 120, SpA 80, SpD 80, Speed 70.

            Total is 550, which is bit high for starters, so maybe drop another 20 in SpA to make it 530, which is closer to the standard for starters. Numbers probably wont be so rounded anyway (never are for starters), but i would be happy with a spread similar to that

          • Once again, for Froakie I had predicted speedy physical attacker, but i wouldn’t mind if it had equal stats in both offences. Just hope it gets some good physical water attacks.

            And the Fox i want to be fast special attacker, but with decent defences so it doesn’t crumble as quick as Alakazam and Gardevior

          • It was based on frogadier’ stats both his offenses are high, and equal. But speed is off the charts.

    That being said apparently a leaker on VP said the game guide says they’re about 89 new pokemon. But its VP and 4Chan, you don’t know who the real OP is because nothing but god damn trolls.

          • it is the only code that gives you free entry to entering all the codes.

            the website is called “gotta catch them all” – Masuda said they are now going back to promoting this hash tag. It hasn’t been used since Gen 2.
            It is also the only code that starts with “XY”

        • My theory is that Gen 6 will be divided into two gens. Gen 6, and a Gen 6.5

          notice in the code there is an “A”

          i think we will receive the “B” form with another 40-60 pokemon to be revealed in 2014 in the form of “Pokemon Z”, with Mega Versions of 6th Gen Pokes and a bunch of new 6th gen pokes dubbed Gen 6.5

          • i really hate this theory it’s the stupidest thing they could possibly do. there’s already two versions of the same game. if they made an additional two versions for a “second half” of the same game, what’s the point of buying either of them? unless the second half of the games are drastically different, it can only imagine it’d CRIPPLE sales because no one’s interested in something like that. we want a bunch of new pokemon for this game, not for a bunch of new pokemon to be split into four different games (X/Y A, X/Y B)

          • B/W 2 didn’t introduce any new pokemon except forms for like Kyurem. B/W 1 had a complete new pokedex, and B/W 2 wasn’t considered a second half to the first pokedex. it was a redo of B/W 1.

            what you’re suggesting is they want to give us four (X/Y A, X/Y B) games with incomplete pokedexes. no one wants that. they need all the new pokemon in one set of games, not to split them into two sets of games that end up being four games total. if they did that they’d have ot make the two sets of games VERY different to keep it interesting, because i doubt anyone wants to play the same gamestoryplay twice or even four times.

          • no, they’ve still never done something like release the first two games with 1/2 of the pokedex and release a “third” completing the second half of the pokedex. yellow, crystal, emerald, and platinum, and B/W 2, didn’t ADD to the pokedex. they only changed the gameplay.

            it’s just not a cool move to do something like that. if they did, we’d have to wait about two years just to see what the rest of the pokedex is. none of the “third” games weren’t released like weeks or a few months after the first two, it was a while after. why make us wait that long to see the rest of a pokedex? it’s lame.

          • plus, don’t forget there’s a pokemon anime. i don’t think they’d like only being able to use half of the generation VI’s pokedex for a year or two until “Z” comes out.

  256. Since they’re not in the 2nd gym yet and we have around 18 Kalos Pokemon discovered so there I think by the Pokemon League there will be say 100 in total or more. So I don’t think there’s 70 or 89 Pokemon. I think it’s 100 or over.

          • I actually have no idea. But, it was shown in a pic battling against a Delphox. Since it first leaked, I believed it was real.

          • That would make sense- or maybe the three colors each are a different region of the dex, and you can see Skiddo/Hawlucha in all 3 dexs and catch them across Kalos.

            With that in mind I think Hawlucha is fake- we’ve only seen it do like 2 poses. If someone wanted to prove it was real they could show it in a video making an attack.

          • We don’t know what that indicates though. It could just indicate that there are 3 different regions, and maybe when you go to the pokemon it shows the actual region that its in

  269. I’ve come to realize that most people’s reflex reaction is to hate a pokemon if it isn’t how they imagined it being (Quilladin, these evos etc). That is also the case with me and since I’ve come to realize that, I’ve learned to hold judgement of a Pokemon til I get used to it. And now that I have, I’m ok with the evolutions. Although I’m still hoping they’re just middle stages. Also, I’m glad the leaks got shutdown but I’m happy to have seen two new in-game Pokemon.

  335. Water/Dark is an interesting typing for Greninja. It’s only been on three other Pokémon: Carvanha, Sharpedo and Crawdaunt.

    I’m not disappointed in the slightest with Greninja or Delphox. I’m not a huge fan of Greninja’s name, and I wish he kept the bubbles around his neck, but I’m happy guys! 😀

        Now if that’s his bubbles that became a scarf… Then I’d like it more.

    • The reason I dislike Greninja is that it doesn’t look cool or sophisticated like a ninja; the weirdly bubbled out knees look awkward and ungainly and the cool trademark bubble scarf is replaced by a tongue, which just looks silly to me. It doesn’t fit together well and looks ungainly. Maybe the Sugimori art will improve things. Maybe some in-battle screen shots will show it in a better light but right now it looks childish and weird to me…

  393. I love all of these leaks and new Pokémon, and I have warmed to all of them, however, there is one thing that is still playing on my mind – I don’t know about you guys.

    The rumour of only 70 new Pokémon becoming true – if we think about it, that’s probably why we have only seen 1 brand new Pokémon from a new line for the whole day. That means with Evolutions and Pre-evolutions aside there may only be 10-15 others that we haven’t seen. 🙁

    • No the leaker only just received the aerodactylite but has yet to get an aerodactyl plus i think you need to have visited the tower of mastery before you can mega evolve so it may still be awhile before any mega’s are leaked.

      • Yes, I saw it. Doesn’t really change anything. I have my personal tastes, and I know they aren’t always going to match them. But, just because something is a Dark type doesn’t mean I will like them, and I feel about the froakie line the same I do about the scraggy/scrafty line. Which are my least favorite dark types, and some of my least favorite Pokemon period. Just the way it is, sadly.

    • It’s very interesting. I like it as a pokemon ALOT. However, as a GRASS starter, I just expected a greener color palette. I wish someone the white shell was a different shade of green. This is a let down for me. Though, I love the Delphox, so I am all set!

    First, I love the face, the white spikes, and shell design. Actually, I love the design.

    However, when I think GRASS starter I would rather it more than 10% green in the palette. So, I like it as a pokemon, just not a starter.

    The other two I absolutely love though as starter pokemon.

      • The reason why everyone was saying it was fake was because it was sharing the number with Skiddo, or something, and just due to the way the pokedex was situated, and the marking was showing all three little markings lit up, so… Honestly, I don’t know, and I don’t really care right now. That’s something I can wait on.

      fennekin’s look .. kind of awkward to me. such a small head on a tall, dress/robe-like body. i get that it’s suppose to be a witch/mage, but i could imagine a lot of better ways.

    Delphox is magnificent! Forreal, it’s my fav, from the start of the line to the end.

    • My only dislike of it is the lack of bubbles (Cool design they decided to drop for some reason) and it’s spiky head that contrasts with it’s body. Other than that it’s pretty cool

  622. I think greninja is almost as bad as samurott. I mean its face is covered in a giant tounge scarf. what the actual f*** were they thinking. A f***ing tongue scarf for crying out loud. Nothing about greninja is marketable or likeable to me.

    Delphox looks corny and i am once again dissapointed. They had the right idea with the psychic fire whitch wizard theme and were on the right track with Braixen but they executed delphox all wrong. I mean a dress? really? too feminine and too majestic. Was hoping for a bad ass wand waving flame witch. The fan art for froakie and fennikins final evos were so amazing compared to these two odd starter evos.

    However the more i look at Chestnaught, the more i fall in love. such a great design and almost exactly what i expected. I thought it would look like a grass version of blastoise. Its a fucking juggernaut. and i believe one of the rumors a while back said chespins final would look like a football player and i think he was right. my only problem with it is the lack of green in the design. its a starter pokemon, it should be primarily green or at LEAST half.

    big fan of chestnaught, dissapointed in delphox, completely disgusted with greninja and will probably never use one in life just like ive never used the unova starters because all three are disgusting.

    • No, they’re gone. Different areas of the map though seem to represent different seasons- the north has an autumny looking area, the east has snow, the west has blooming flowers like spring, and summer could be the south.

    • You’re not going to get banned or insulted for asking such a normal question such as this. It is a good question. What you will get banned for though is poor behaviour and language that you use against other members for no apparent reason.

      Currently, seasons aren’t confirmed, however, times of day do seem to make a return.

    • I’m copying your starters and adding Litleo (I hate two Fire types, but Charizard will be my flier and Litleo is too cute), but I haven’t seen anyone new to add to the list. At least we’ve only seen the first two/three gyms worth of Pokemon so far- I can go a few gyms with a well trained team of 3 before I add members.

        • Back in DP and BW, I had seen enough Pokemon before the US release to have my teams planned out from the start and made it a goal to go out of my way to add each member to my team when I actually got the game. Anyway, starting with just 3 gives me time to level (overlevel :P) them more easily.

  708. Any information on sky battles or horde battles? It seems to me that since Charizard could stay in the air after it mega evolves into CharX, mold breaker wouldn’t affect Pokemon with Levitate. Curious though if ground type moves work of if the AI is really…well dumber in horde battles.

    • Didn’t say there would be additional rules beyond just restricting it to Flying type and Levitate Pokemon. My guess is that ground type moves won’t work in a sky battle. They could in theory just treat any ground type moves as disabled. I wonder how Smack Down would work?

  716. Whokilledarchie isn’t dead! In fact, he is playing through the game (my inference) and therefore discovered MegaDragonite (you can see the Mega Evolution symbol in the background of his latest pic).
    Anyways, that Mega Evolution symbol, also visible on the title of the game, does that resemble Mega Evolution thus confirming the DNA theory wrong? What about the tree on the North of the Kalos map? Doesn’t that confirm the Yggdrasil theory in a way? Overall, what do YOU all think X/Y is based on? DNA? Yggdrasil? This new Mega Evolution? Exploration? Traveling? Plainly beauty? I don’t judge opinions, and I’d love to hear your guys’ thinking!

        • The x and y axis symbolize for the initial story of multi-thought processes coming together to make a grand general idea. It’s hard to explain but basically he wanted to focus on how people think similarly despite having different ideals.

          • It’s main theme was truth vs ideals. There is a difference between main themes and sub themes. >_> Doesn’t make those themes less important. Might be cool if they tie in DNA as sort of a pun on the X and Y thing. But DNA is incredibly general….chromosomes are in your DNA is all.

            Pokemon does a good job with being general so players can be creative about its elements.

    • Trainer has move animations when you don’t press any buttons (like he’ll stretch and stuff). Also, character kneels when talking to children or small Pokemon.

    • You can change outfits, that was already in a trailer. Looks like many people just don’t. Either changing outfits isn’t available yet (just accessories?) or people want to play with the generic look to show what the ‘real’ gameplay looks like.

    • My favorite thing about this Red is that he has a lot of random Pokemon and they’re all good at battling. They could have copped out and given him Charizard, Pikachu, Pidgeot, Lapras, Snorlax, and something else and left him cliche. Instead, he seems to rotate several good Pokemon (Jolteon, Charizard, and Lapras are his main 3 it seems though).

    • I feel like Hawlucha has the distinction of being known as one of Gen VI’s troll Pokemon (for being such a mystery to fans). The other Gen VI troll ones are Greninja (same reason, but it was less popular), Orotto (funnily enough, this hasn’t been spoiled yet), and Sylveon (Bug/Dragon/Light/Flying/Sound/Normal/Fairy Type!).

    • I’m for it. I think Charizard needed it to be honest. He has a great Physical movepool, but low Physical atk. And his special movepool is bland, and his special attack was ok, so in a sense, he needed both.

  970. So, what I’ve deduced so far, the Mega Pokémon that have alternate Mega Evolutions (Mewtwo and Charizard) are the ones whose Mega Stone hasn’t been revealed yet. This means that the rest of the Mega Pokémon that could get X and Y exclusive Mega Evolutions are: Blastoise, Kangaskhan (still not officially revealed by GF), Ampharos, Mawile, Absol, and Garchomp.

    EDIT: Venusaur’s Mega Stone was leaked as is Venusaurite (I think).

  983. There is a lot of hate going around for these new starter evolutions. Personally i like them, and consider them better than Gen 5 starters, and on par with Gen 3 and Gen 4 starters.
    They are also cool, because they aren’t just generic animals i.e snake, monkey, pig, turtle. They take the base animal and add an interesting spin, which i personally think is very creative from Gamefreak. Think I will be going with the fire starter…

    • There isn’t a Dark type gym. So, meh. Honestly, at this point, it’s a running gag, and I think they are aware of this fact. Might have something to do with the fact in Japan, it would be known as the Evil Type, not just Dark Type gym, so who would officially sanction that. I at least hope there is a psychic in there at the least.

      • An option for next to would be to stagger the stock out to stores like this

        1st Stock- Big chains that are contractually obliged to not sell the game
        2nd Stock- Small retail stores

        Another option would be to put a day one patch in that activates the game, before then, your game is a brick.
        If the person has no wifi access, stores can activate that game in a wifi event kind of way, the catch? The cards that activate such an event ONLY work on release day!

    • Is that the D-Bag that runs Bulbapedia that alerted Nintendo to the leaks in the first place? After they have have done ONE worldwide release, it would be completely asinine for them to not do it again. It was a huge step in the right direction for GF/Nintendo to make Pokemon a truly GLOBAL franchise, and put the millions upon millions of fans on an even scale, and makes no sense they would go back to segmented releases internationally.

      • Joe Merrick is the webmaster of Serebii who think that is what will happen in the future. Same month release, but Japan gets the games earlier in the month with the rest of the world following later in the month.

Another option is for Nintendo to not ship the game out two fucking weeks early. I mean, seriously? What did they think was going to happen?

      They could already be there in the games code, we just can’t find out cause the 3ds hasn’t been hacked yet!

      • Either that or it’s just Vespiquen and another Pokemon with two Pokemon in its evolutionary line. If there were two spaces between Combee and Bulbasaur I might be convinced, but it seems unlikely to squeeze a standalone Pokemon in there.

        • Wes has stated that Skitty is there. Which… I dunno, Bedrone came from the guy just playing the game, the kosthe-whatever. I don’t really know why he’d make up bedrone while leaking the game, and being the first leaker to throw behind Hawlucha. It might be possible Bedrone is in the game, but he just THOUGHT it was a Combee evolution. We’ll see soon enough.

        There is also somethign else we aren’t considering. What if Xerneas and Yveltal are 715/716… But there are still Pokemon after that? And not just legendaries, just, they are oddly early. It’s never happened before, I know, but we did have the oddity of Victini being our 0 Pokemon in BW, and Garchomp is still weirdly in the middle of the Pokedex, instead of right at the end with the Legendaries like Pseudos generally are. Just a thought.

        • Also, Terrakion and Co. were right in the middle of BW2’s Unova dex, and Dragonite and Tyrannitar are listed after legendaries if I’m not mistaken.

    • Okay that’s enough. I tried to hold myself back but I’m sick to death of the negativity some people are expressing.
      Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I don’t deny that but the hate the newly leaked evolved forms are getting is pathetic.
      Just because they aren’t the expected/generic evolution, just because they don’t have the simple fox/frog/animal design that we all expected shouldn’t mean they’re bad. Gamefreak has given us something different, much different then what we expected. No one saw it coming.
      I’d rather have something unique/unexpected than the obvious designs that will keep me interested for a short while and then I’ll eventually rub of them. Gamefreak is mixing things up and props to them, the RPG theme of the starters is great. It’s different. That’s what we should be expecting.

      I was shocked too and for a while not too happy but I stayed patient and now I like each and every starter for what they are.
      I’d rather be positive and look at the brighter picture, the bigger picture.
      Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but when people say that XY are as bad as BW, that’s just insulting to the awesome Pokemon that have been revealed previously in XY and BW too.
      Why does everything have to be bad? Can’t we be at least somewhat thankful?
      Who says there’s no after game? 70 New Pokemon? Until we have proper confirmation please don’t go down the road of assumptions.
      If you’re a true fan or if you have any sense, PLEASE just please try and embrace not hate or better still try looking at things positively and see how different things can be.
      It’s your choice just like everyone else makes their own choices.
      I’ve made mine and that’s looking at things with an open mind.

    • I’m waiting… Honestly, official art could change my opinion on Greninja potentially. I do generally like what Chesnaught did, though, I’ll admit, thinking about it. Most of my frustration toward it was after having months of 100% it being Grass/Dark, and it isn’t, so I looked at it kind of harshly, but Chesnaught is pretty good.

      • I’m relieved that Grass/Dark was false, very relieved because Chespin would’ve been stuck with a terrible typing for a slower Pokemon (Even though it seems its speed isn’t that bad thankfully). Now Chesnaught looks so ready to kick the butt of everybody who laughed at Quilladin xD

        In the end, GameFreak did get you that Dark type starter after the disappointment of Tepig 🙂 Maybe the official art will change your mind. I really like Greninja, liked it the moment I saw it when it was still undecided if real or fake a few days ago. The tongue-like scarf is such a unique idea. And that pose it’s in, it’s ready for action! 😀

        • I wouldn’t mind if we have a dragon gym in the early portion of the game. Like within the first 4 gyms. The fact that dragon gym are almost exclusively at the end is a bit redundant. Also there are a lot of dragon elite four members and champions and dragons are pretty much used by a lot of the powerful trainers. It just means we see the most powerful fully evolved dragon types at the end

          • That’s true but I feel like most dragon pokemon aren’t strong enough when they are levels 10-35 to warrent a dragon gym so it would just be pointless and annoying! I like dragon pokemon but I’m so sick of them being associated with power! Thank god for fairy types.

          • Of course they’re going to be associated with power since a Dragon is an immensely powerful creature like most Bug types are associated with weakness. That’s iust how things are.

      • Each one gives a slight boost in one stat and decrease in the other, except for the few that change nothing.

        Naughty could work, but why go Naughty when you can have Adamant? That way you lose his Sp Attack which you won’t use much, and you have better Speed. Alternately, you could sacrifice Sp Atk for Speed with Jolly.

      • Basically most natures give a boost (i think its 10%) to a certain stat and decrease another stat. There are some natures that are neutral and dont increase or decrease anything. The point of having the right nature is to get a pokemon that excells at something while sacrificing another stats which it doesnt really need.
        An example would be a Modest Gardevoir. This nature increases Gardevior’s SpA (which it needs), while decreasing its Attack stat (which it hardly ever uses).
        This is just the most basic example. Hope its clear though…

        • Also in a quick nature run down, typically the best Natures are Adamant and Jolly for physical attackers (decrease Sp Atk and increase Atk and Speed respectively), while the best ones for Special Attackers are Modest and Timid (which decrease Attack and increase Sp A and Speed respectively).

    • We are pretty sure that for Dunsparce, that is it’s length. So it’s not actually that tall, because that thing would be absolutely monstrous, and it’s always been shown to be ‘small.’ It is a snake based creature, and they are generally given their height with what must be their length from snout to tip of tail

    • We don’t know. At this point, it is almost definitely not an evolution of Male Combee, but there is still the chance it could be just a new Pokemon on it’s own, unconnected to Combee at all. We should find out soon enough probably.

  1055. – No post game. 70 new Pokemon..

    I don’t believe those statements for one second.
    I remember reading an interview were Masuda was asked about future games such as Hoenn remakes. Masuda dodged the Hoenn part but what he did say was that he wasn’t sure how well XY would do. Meaning lets wait and hope that XY does well before we think about anything else.
    Now when I was reading it I got the impression that Masuda is really focused in providing us with a GOOD game that won’t fail us.

    Therefore I cannot see either of the above happening. Anything less than a 100 is pushing it and 70? That’s burying it in Sinnoh’s underground.

    And then no post game? They’ve been developing XY for around 3 years and I’d guess that a lot of the developement focused on the transition to 3D and the move from sprites but there is no way they would put that much effort into one game and neglect an area that the games have been improving on with each generation.
    I expect an awesome post game stroyline/content.

    Anything less will awaken the Moltres inside me!

    • He did confirm that there wouldn’t be any key system like we had in BW2 though but I’d suspect there’s a very good chance we’ll see it return in the next game be that Z or whatever.. :]

    • I will say that it might be possible for it to be less than 100 though. Especially with the suspect passcode for the Gotta Catch em all code, with XY738A, which is exactly what 89 after 649, and 89 is a number that’s been floating around.

        – Explore North East Isshu/Routes West of Nuvema
        – Find the Sages.
        – Rechallange the E4 and on this occassion Alder.
        – Catch Pokemon not available pre-e4
        – Battle Cynthia at her Villa

        I realise it’s not the most amazing content filled post-e4 but after all you were unable to find it.
        I just hope that XY has a strong post game if it doesn’t, it doesn’t but I expect more from this game then I did with the previous generation counterpart.

        • You forgot the Battle Subway. That alone made BW a great game after the story ended. All the things you listed are minor subsquests that aren’t really significant, but BW didn’t feel like it had a short postgame. I’m sure XY will have similar features that will make the game much larger than it initially seems.

  1063. Hey guys! I did some research! In Generation IV, only 82 of the Pokemon were original and unrelated to previous generations. 25 of them had evolutions related to something from the previous generations! I heard from someone on here that three sources have said that the number of Kalos non-Mega Evolutions totals to 89.

    • That is actually a good statistic. In Sinnoh, we couldn’t even get those 25 for the most part, because their pre-evolutions weren’t available in the game. Sinnoh heavily centered on Kanto too- Ponyta, Machop, Onix, Geodude, Zubat, Psyduck- all of these guys were obtainable pretty early in the game. Heck, wasn’t Ponyta the only catchable Fire type until Postgame?

      The problem that some have with Gen VI is that they’re doing the same thing but with all the regions. Gen IV borrowed from 380ish pre-established Pokemon and fit the new ones in well. Now Gen VI is trying to pay homage to over 600 pre-established Pokemon and seem to be doing a good job. It’s not always about new Pokemon too- I’ve never trained a Golduck before, so if I got one in X/Y, it would feel the same as training a completely new Pokemon.

  1065. Here are my thoughts:
    -Chesnaught should have some sort of spike or something on it’s head. It’s awkward looking bald. It’s arms are much too long and inflexible and it looks awful in that dominantly beige color. It would look a lot better if it were a darker brown all over.
    -Delphox really is disappointing to me. Fennekin was my favorite and was hoping it would be more magical and awesome looking. First, it seems that they have ditched it’s cool wand. That really makes me angry. That would be like getting rid of oshawotts shell when it evolves into Samurott. The robe is much too long and looks more like a dress. It completely overshadows the tail now..
    -Greninja is alright. I do not enjoy the tongue scarf because it makes 0 sense. How is it going to attack with it’s tongue wrapped around it’s neck. It would only slow him down. Plus if he wanted to use the tongue in battle it would have to spend time unwrapping it. Poor designing. I hope it rolls it back up into it’s mouth sometimes because if I had a greninja in real life I would not want to touch it. I do not like the random horn triangles on it’s head because they don’t match the flow of the rest of his body. Again, I hate that they got rid of the bubbles because that is what really made froakie unique and now instead of its bubbles it has a 20 ft tongue that it strangles itself with.
    Well that pretty much sums it up. Overall very disappointed with these. These evolutions make no sense based on the prevos. I would say these are the worst final evos of any gen. I would say Unova has the worst, but at least in unova I liked one of them. (Serperior) Sorry if this is a really negative post but this is just what I believe so feel free to disagree or say what you think. And also sorry if I’ve been commenting a lot on this topic!

    This is probably gonna upset people but WHO CARES about how many new Pokemon there are? There is NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT, no matter how hard you bitch or boycott the game or whatever else you think by doing you can magically change ingame content. But here’s some food for thought:

    Did it occur to you that previous gens had as many Pokemon as it did because the region was very limited? Previous regions typically only favored new Pokemon while barely, if at all, had previous gens included. This generation has the beauty of not knowing what you might run into…new or old gen. So basically, you’ll be able to run into a large number of Pokemon from previous generations, revamped and restyled, as well as the newbies. There are so many changes just in game that even old Pokemon look brand new!

    This is assuming that this rumor is even true…and if it is…again, why let it bother you? There’s nothing you can do about it except enjoy the game that has been developed for you. In seeing screenshots and some footage, this game is beautiful and long as shit. He’s caught over 60 some Pokemon and he’s only at the second gym! This game is about the exploration and the beauty of the world that, for the first time ever, is in full 3D. I think you guys are missing the bigger picture here by focusing on the ‘what if there’s ONLY 70 Pokemon’ and not ‘holy cow look at all this stuff in game INCLUDING all these new Pokemon!’

    It’s about how full the glass is I suppose.

    In other news…Josh, our friendly leaker on vg, says he works until 3:30 EST (that’s PM for those who think he’s crazy enough to play Pokemon at 4 AM). He said to give him some time to get home and get started, so expect to see him playing after 4 PM EST.

    How do you find him? 4ch does not have a search function, so you have to watch the main page like a hawk until he posts. You might find other leakers as you go, but this guy has made some progress and he’s pretty fast with his uploads (no smoke breaks like a dick).

    To tell it is him, look for this: Josh !xltmUpewoI . This is a trip code, or password, whatever they call it now. This lets you know that OP is really him. If that crazy code is bold, it is NOT him. Only his name should be bold.

    I have stuff to do so I’ll probably miss him posting a lot so if anyone would please bring me up to speed later/save pictures and info I’d be so happy. =D

      And funnily enough most of us myself included never pondered over the fact that in these games we can run in to so many different Pokemon new and old. That sense of variety will keep running into new Pokemon far more engaging. What I haven’t forgotten though is seeing old mons in XY graphics is going to be amazing – it’s like catching them for the first time all over again!

    • We also have to take in considerations that Gamefreak is trying something new with the Mega Evolutions. And they are giving some of our favorites a new look and new power. Having less then 100 new pokemon seems okay to have that. Plus there is always the sequel game to this, whatever it may be. Or After the league there could be more pokemon to unlock maybe. We don’t know but we are going to find out.

  1076. Everybody that is complaining about the starter evolutions should STOP. If you look at chesnaught closer, you can see that he is chespin just bigger and has a different color scheme without the armor suit. He looks really cool. Greninja is a little strange at first but it’s mask and body are so their looking it’s hard not to smile. The tongue may be a little too much but what if there is an explanation for his tongue? What if his tongue is covering the bubbles? And Delphox, is just too awesome. It has a freaking robe. What if the stick is somewhere in the robe? Also, did anyone notice that all these pokemon have “clothes on.” Greninja has a scarf and mask, Delphox has a robe, and chesnaught has armor on top of him. I think it’s meant to be a theme.

(Charizard X&Y) Don’t get me wrong I love charizard X a lot but it’s not exactly fair to the other 2. It’s almost as if they are saying charizard is better than blastoise/venusaur.

      • They have said that the stipulation for Megas are… I forget the other thing, but also what popularity does play a role. And come on. I’m not saying everyone here things Charizard is their favorite Pokemon, or anywhere near the best. But Charizard is by far one of the most iconic Pokemon in the game, and when polls are taken, amongst the general populace among Pokemon fans, Charizard almost always ranks at the top. I’m pretty sure that may have played into it.

My opinion is that there will only be 70 or 89 new Pokemon like those rumors suggest because I feel like Junicha saw the decline in sales Pokemon was taking, and then got too much hate for “5th gen pokemon being ugly”. I feel like he/his team wanted to perfect and make a great short amount of new pokemon, while focusing on the gameplay/game mechanics to make the games as fun as ever. I would rather an extremely long, beautiful, best game ever than a game thats slightly better than b/w with 150 new pokemon.

    besides the theory sounds like it might be true, we already have a bit more than 50 new pokes revealed. If you add on about 10 or so legendaries, plus evo’s for skrelp/clauncher/duoblade and oorotto than I believe thats our count. I honestly can’t imagine another 50 or 60 unveiled pokemon that are as great as this game is. Most of 5th gen pokemon were badly designed and seemed rush so I think they wanted to make a less amount but greatly designed this time. I loved every Poke revealed so far I am yet to be disappointed.

            B2/W2 sold really damn well, even if it didn’t sell as well as previous gens. Gamefreak/Nintendo made a huge profit on the games.

          • Then you should know that even if you wrote the code it’s fucking near impossible to read through the code. Don’t be arrogant. I don’t even study programming and I know about it enough that reading through the game’s code is near pointless unless you have a few years to spare on reading the coding that a team of Japanese developers wrote.

  1100. I don’t know about most people, but to be quite honest, I’m more excited seeing older pokemon back with gorgeous 3D cell-shaded models than some of the newer pokemon. Even pokemon that I dislike from previous generations look great in 3D. I’m actually very happy the pokedex is filled with more older pokemon than newer ones.   1102. I’m wondering if the defining factor of dual type moves are that their damage is calculated based on the type that does the greater damage of the 2 or a multiple of the 2 types combined.     • I liked how Freeze Dry stated that it was SE on Water, which makes it easy, but the wording of Flying Press is confusing. I hope they cap multipliers at x1.5 (STAB) x4 (SE hitting twice such as Flying on a Bug/Grass).

  1103. SO, I’ve been thinking, and I noticed that Blastoise gets the short stick. I have no idea which stats go up, his ability only powers up pulse moves like Water Pulse, Dark Pulse, Heal Pulse, and Dragon Pulse, and he can’t learn most of those. So, unless Blastiose gets a severe movepool upgrade, i don’t see many people picking squirtle. I thought about it, but after seeing Mega Charizard x, i changed my mind. Also, i heard someone talk about a Manectricite, has this been proven real yet?

    • I have this feeling that Mega Launcher may not be as restrictive as people think. In other words, I can see moves without the word “pulse” getting boosted, like Hydro Pump!

      • It could work like MCharizardX’s Tough Claws that increases all contact moves’ strengths instead of just clawing attacks.

      • I think so too, which means that Hydro Cannon may get boosted, which would be nice to see. Has anyone figured out which stats get boosted? I heard someone say sp def, but have yet to hear it confirmed.

        • People have calculated Mega Lucario’s base stats and despite the website only mentioning attack, it’s base stats are roughly

          ATK: 140
          SPA: 145
          SPE: 115

          So stats not mentioned also get boosts

          • If that’s true, and the defenses dont’ change, and HP definitely won’t… that gives it a BST of 610. Just over Pseudo Legendary.

          • Dang, that’s massive. That special Attack is even better than Chandelure and Reuniclus if I’m not mistaken.

            I guess they weren’t kidding when they said that Mega Evolutions would raise stats to Legendary levels.

          • Yeah. If the speed is a bit off, then that could be 105, it would make it a clean 600, just like Pseudo Legends.

          • I was wondering about it, because it said Garchomp’s speed dropped. That was making me think it speed had to drop to allow for the buff to the attacks. How much it’s speed will drop, I don’t know though. But I think them coming up to the 600 range sounds about right, it’s about what I expected.

          • I think that pokemon with less than 600 BST will get stat boosts, while pokemon with 600 BST or higher, get stat redistributions.

          • Yeah. I think that Mewtwo Y for instance will probably have it’s attack drop and applied further to speed and special attack. I don’t know yet will drop for X though, as it’s attack increases, and it’s special attack is still supposed to be good.

    • The main reason I avoid Squirtle and Bulbasaur is their limited movepool. But it seems Gen VI is about to change that, especially for Blastoise.

  1105. I’m really curious how hacking/pokegen will work on this game… Since every pokemon has their own certain animation for the moves they CAN use.. and you use pokegen to give a pokemon a move they CAN’T use… will the game glitch out or would they just not move? I’m curious xD

    • They have to make a Pokegen that will work with this game. It’ll be a damn while. Most likely, though, Gamefreak has some sort of failsafe.

      • They apparently do if Nintendo gives them the access. In an interview right before the 3DS came out, Nintendo stated that any hacks on the system or games done has a backfire. They can remotely shunt down and internally destroy the systems OS if picked up.

    • Because these games can be updated, people might give up due to restrictions added to the games. Whenever I hack, I don’t literally use those pokemon, but instead I give them the moves and evs I want and breed them for what I want. It’s much easier.

      • the only reason i ever get fake pokemon is to get event pokemon i missed, or to get something unavailable in the game itself…or if it’s a trade-to-evolve pokemon…but i don’t do anything competitive, so it’s all personal use. if it’s personal use to fill the pokedex, it’s not hurting anyone, sooo…. lol

    • They said the pokebank should act as some sort of filtering mechanism to differentiate between real and modified pokes, but that probably only works the “upload to bank” process. Don’t know if they’ll enforce a similar technique for online battles

      • I’m trying to find the article now, but Masuda said that there was so much cheating through the use of fake Pokemon that they are now putting a stronger “filter” to weed out the cheaters. Especially after what happened in the 2013 World Tourney online.

    • well the 3DS hasn’t and probably won’t ever be cracked/coded, so there won’t be no RNG manipulation or “PokeGen”ing pokes.

      And then december will come and the gates will open and everyone will transfer their hacked pokes to XY. Hopefully it detects immensly and remove a lot of these hacks that will be sent over.

  1106. I’ve been doing competitive battles since I was 8 I used to get very frustrated breeding to get the right nature and EV training pokegen was just a quick way of doing that but I’m ok the super training if it’s quick.

      • According to rumors, two hours of super training will fully take care of a stat, when with the proper power item, wild pokemon and pokerus, you can ev train pokemon in under an hour

      • The chances of encountering a horde are probably similar to a shaking bush. You can either go with luck or stick to guaranteed Super Training

        • You can use repels and just bike around back and forth to abuse shaking bush appearances. I do it all the time for audino grinding

          • Still, for specific EV training you need to battle specific pokes. What are the chances you find the right horde? Not that I disagree with your methods, I’d rather go with what’ll surely work than play with chance

  1111. Morning guys =) for anyone that wants some hints or insight on Mega Pokemon and how they will benefit the online scene – check out my possibilities/info.

    Mega Blaziken (Ability: Speed Boost): [Fire/Fighting] Will most likely be dubbed an Uber Mega by Smogon. Blaziken will now LEGALLY be able to use BatonPass/Swords Dance on a SB set. Trade a 3rd Gen Blaziken that possess those moves all the way up to XY, let it hold a mega stone and BAM. You got not only a deadly Mega that can use *Protect* and get in that free speed boost, but also set up a swords dance and baton pass the speed/attack to someone else if in danger.

    Mega Absol (Ability: Magic Bounce): [Dark] Might become my favorite Mega poke. With increased speed and attack, this poke will be about timing. Your foe/opponent goes to use a status ailment move like Thunder Wave on your regular absol. You opt to Mega Evolve (priority) and bounce that thunder wave right back to him, enabling you to get in a free swords dance/plus evolution and proceed to sweep. Absol also gets STAB sucker punch/pursuit so it will be deadly.

    Mega Charizard (Ability: Tough Claws / Drought): [Fire/Dragon & Fire/Flying respectively] Charizard fortunately gets two mega’s, probably due to it being an iconic Pokemon. I personally will be getting X, but I prefer the Y exclusive Drought ability over Tough Claws. Instead of using Ninetails we will now be able to prioritize Mega Evolve and set up a permanent drought to boost our fiery Poke’s/chlorophyll sweepers. Tough Claws will be more beneficial for those that will want to use a Dragon Dancing Charizard with already increased attack to sweep.

    Mega Kangaskahn (Ability: Parental Bondt): [Normal] Another Mega that will probably end up Uber. Kangaskahn will now be able to attack twice with its moves. This means a move like Circle Throw will hit you once, recall the opponent to their pokeball, than their next poke gets hit with the second circle throw calling them back to their poke as well which will become increasingly annoying for some.This means hazards like stealth rock will tear the foe apart if their constantly switching pokes from a double hitting Circle Throw. Kanga also gets STAB Crush Claw which means the first time it hits the foe, their defense lowers, meaning the second time it hits it will do even MORE damage. Depending on how much of a speed boost it gets, a move like Counter will be able to do 4x the damage instead of 2 like normal.

    Mega Mawile (Ability: Huge Power): [Steel/Fairy] This guy will be pretty cool to use. You’ll be able to switch in with a regular Mawile (intimidate ability prefered), lower your foes attack, Mega Evolve and get your attack stat boosted and proceed to wreck. It knows Sucker Punch / Swords Dance so it has the possibility of sweeping.

    *Honorable Mention* – Venasaur will be cool to use with its thick fat. Come on with cholorphyll sweeper vena as normal, when a foe goes to use a ice/fire type attack, mega evolve to your thick fat and eat those attacks.

    – THREATS THAT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HAPPEN –

    Mega Arbok (Ability: Simple): [Poison/Dragon]. Arbok slightly gets an increase in this gen, since Poison pokes will be saught after to destroy fairies, as well as steel Pokemon. But I feel like even Arbok will still be less popular unless given a Mega with simple. Simple doubles any stat raises. Arbok learns Coil. With this he would be able to raise his def x2 and atk x2 – plus get a new dragon typing (supplement his Earthquake weakness) – and proceed to sweep!

    Mega Swampert (Ability: Sap Sipper):[Water/Ground] With the given ability, Swampert will now have 0 weaknesses, and will get an Attack stat raise everytime a Pokemon uses a grass type attack against it. This would be the ultimate online killer.

    Mega Sceptile (Ability: Unburden): [Grass/Dragon] After consumption of its mega item, Unburden will activate making it faster than any choice scarf user ever. Dual dragon typing would give its plethora of dragon moves STAB but also give it a 4x weakness to Ice.

    Mega Milotic (Ability: Multi Scale): [Water/Fairy] Given Dragonite’s exclusive DW ability, and increased defenses for a Mega, this would be the mother of all Wallers. It’d be extremely hard to take down this Poke especially with Multi Scale and a dragon immunity.

    Mega Serperior (Ability: Contrary): [Grass/Dragon] Contrary reverses stat changes. So whenever you use a strong move like Leaf Storm, instead of your sp atk decreasing x2 it will instead raise x2. With a dragon typing, this will give Serperior STAB draco meteor which would also raise his sp-atk x2 making it the ultimate sweeper! Especially with a Hidden Power move of your choice. It has decent coverage.

    Mega Metagross (Ability: Iron Fist): [Steel/Psychic] Metagross, along with Jirachi and Bronzor will suffer a saddening fate during 6th gen, as Steel no longer resists Ghost/Dark moves. A mega evo for Metagross with heightened speed and attack, plus Iron Fist would make it once again deadly. Iron Fist would increase the power of his punching moves, which is its iconic Meteor Mash, Hammer Arm, Thunder/Ice Punch, Bullet Punch. You switch in with clear body on someone trying to lower your stats, and boom mega evolve and slay.

    Mega Lumineon (Ability: Drizzle): [Water/Fairy] Lumineon is often “the forgotten Pokemon”. I’ve never battled one online during the 5th gen days – but a Mega would increase its popularity. With Drizzle, it can act as your new drizzle team lead instead of Politoed, and increase the power of its STAB water moves. With fairy, it’ll now be immune to dragons. A poke that def needs a mega.

    Mega Stunfisk (Ability: Storm Drain): [Electric/Ground] A Mega with increased sp atk/speed and given ability would make this guy the ultimate anti-rain sweeper. Have your regular limber/static Stunfisk out, you predict that your opponent is going to blast the shiz out of you with a hydro pump that your weak against, you mega evolve which gets priority and absorb their water attack with your new ability – and it’ll increase your sp atk!! Losing its water weakness. It’d probably only have trouble with Ferrothorn. Another nice ability for it would be Water Absorb.

    Mega Lapras (Ability: Refridgerate): [Ice/Water] Lapras wants to be a physical sweeper so bad. It can learn dragon dance, but the only nice physical ice move it has is Ice Shard which has low base power. If given refridgerate, it would be able to turn a move like Body Slam into a STAB ice move, set up with dragon dance, and sweep with its Body Slam.

    Mega Meganium (Ability: New Ability): [Grass/Fairy] I would like to see a new ability for Meganium that benefits it immensly. I feel like theres not much it can do right now but be a decent tank. But I know a fairy typing would suit it will and give it a nice immunity to dragon, but 4x weakness to poison.

            Gen III (This no reconnection to the older gen) -> Make Cross-gen Pokemon in Gen IV

            Gen IV (There are enough new Pokemon) -> Makes a new region with a shit ton of new Pokemon with unique and great designs

            Gen V (Pokemon aren’t aesthically pleasure and there aren’t any connections to old Pokemon) -> Makes great designs and introduce Megas

            Gen IV ???

            Seriously just learn to appreciate things. If you think you do better with your ideas or imagination then put up or shut up.

    • B/W were sideprojects as they worked on X & Y! It was just to keep us with a Pokemon Game! Remember GameFreak, was one of the first Nintendo companies to get a Dev Kit (for the 3DS).

    • Y will be my main AND competitive. I would use an X for the purposes of getting the rest of things, mainly Mega stones it seems, and also to restart and play though stuff. But Y, that’s never being reset.

      • I know…mainly people from facebook. Claiming they are just gonna box the starters and use the Kanto ones, some even saying they will just give them ever stones so they don’t evolve. I honestly dont know what people expected, but they probably wanted a generic fox and frog like Ninetales and Seismitoad.
        Honestly these are the best starter designs since Gen 3 in my opinion. Not saying i didn’t like Gen 4 and Gen 5 ones…

          • Yeh, I actually commented something like that on facebook. That there are in theory an infinite number of possibilities for what the evolutions could be, and each person has their own idea, but unfortunately only one set could be real and people just find it hard to accept.

  1374. Thought just came to me. Like the mega evolutions or not, they only do that in battle. And we don’t really see our pokemon outside of battle. So it doesn’t really matter all that much. Its till a transformation of them. Still a stronger them. Maybe in the future you can walk with a mega pokemon. But until then they seem alright in my book :3

    • I will enjoy using the pokes regardless. I like leaks because it gives me an overview of option. Besides they are only Pokemon leaks which i don’t care about. If it was story leaks i wouldn’t be here. Everyone’s different, but this is just how i look at it.

    • Why are we enjoying the leaks? Is that a trick question? xD Because we’ve waited since january and now we’re finally learning all about the games! It’s exciting and fascinating!! I spent 4 generations of picking up the games at my local store and going in completely blind, and I’m done with that. These days before I boot up that baby for the first time I want my entire IV and egg move bred team roster in egg format waiting to be transferred over at the earliest opportunity. Nothing for me could ever spoil the magic of playing it myself.

          • I was honestly weirded out by Spritzee’s evo (I’m not the only one), but I’m slowly adjusting to it, like when somebody pulls your curtains back while you are still in bed and the sunlight hurts your eyes, but you adjust. (analogy too long?)

            All in all, I love all the designs of Kalos Pokemon I saw thus far (the weird barnacle pie Pokemon was ok, maybe it has good stats in its evo)
