Luvdisc, Chansey Spreading the Love in GO!

Pokémon GO’s 2018 Valentine’s Day event has finally been revealed!

To go along with the Generation III take over that’s currently happening in GO, from now until February 15th Luvdisc and Chansey will have increased spawns, and each one caught will reward you 3x Stardust! In addition, reports of Shiny Luvdisc in game are starting to pour in!

Sounds like a good time to get out and GO farm Stardust!

QUESTION OF THE DAY: What regional delicacy (Rage Candy Bar, Lava Cookie, etc.) would you want to receive as a Valentine?

  1. Is Kingdom Come Deliverance any good? Currently dont have any new games to complete having just finished LA Noire & AC Origins. I’ve seen some playthroughs of KCD and it piqued my curiousity

  3. Fun thing to do:
    I. Pop up this website: https://www.random.org
    II. Generate a number 1-8
    III. The numbers represent:
    1 = Rival
    2 = Gym Leader
    3 = Trial Captain
    4 = Kahuna
    5 = Team Admin
    6 = Team Boss
    7 = Elite 4
    8 = Champion
    IV. Now generate a number 1-18
    V. The numbers now represent:
    1 = Normal 10 = Rock
    2 = Grass 11 = Ground
    3 = Fire 12 = Bug
    4 = Water 13 = Ghost
    5 = Electric 14 = Ice
    6 = Flying 15 = Dragon
    7 = Fighting 16 = Dark
    8 = Psychic 17 = Steel
    9 = Poison 18 = Fairy
    VI. With the numbers chosen for your type of trainer and type, make a team of 5 Pokemon for this trainer. You can even give them a name or a short bio of them.

  5. So……Anybody around here?

    Q: If you could fight against the evil team with people here, who would you do it with?

    Hard mode: What would your strategy be?

  6. Stolen from /vp/

    >To start, the first type was decided to be Flying-type since Lugia have wings. At the time Psychic-type was the symbol of powerful Pokemon. As we wanted Lugia to give the impression of being a powerful Pokemon, we settled on Psychic-type for the second type, instead of Water-type.
    >In short, the reason why Lugia is not a Water-type despite being underwater, is due to its Flying-type-like appearance, and Psychic-type being the symbol of a powerful Pokemon.
    >Legendary duos represent opposite concepts, for example Groudon and Kyogre represent land and water, while Dialga and Palkia represent time and space. In the case of Ho-oh and Lugia, although they do not have a direct connection in the story, we imagine that they represent the sun and the moon, day and night, yin and yang (positive and negative), bottom of the sea and the sky, above and below.
    >Ho-oh and Lugia were born in the world of Pokemon Gold and Silver, for the new feature, time system, gave us day and night cycle.
    >Thus, they represent the sun and the moon, day and night.

    TIL that Ho-oh and Lugia got cucked by Gens 5 and 7

  8. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon EoS was way better than it really needed to be

    Outside of the gameplay which I can totally understand people not enjoying because it isn’t the best, the pixel art, music, and writing are way too good for a Pokémon spin off.

  9. What would a world be like where Pokémon ended after gen 2 then got a Kid Icarus Uprising or Punch Out Wii treatment and had a new game made years later?

    What would that game be like?

    • The exact same as it is now but with a gap inbetween, with the first relaunch having a lot of content. Successful Mon games are gonna be frequent releases, it’s just in their nature.

        • Nintendo would pull the exact same stuff, just with more content. Pokemon is a quick burning sell series, and it’s only really the move to console that has a chance of changing that.

          • Mm I don’t agree. Look at Uprising. I think they would’ve done something unique but probably would’ve used a lot from Gen 1 and 2. It wouldn’t be a gen 3

          • Kid Icarus and Pokemon are two very different games. One is more in line with Nintendo’s games that aren’t in the big three in that it doesn’t release super frequently and isn’t afraid to change between games. Pokemon is a marketing superpower and they can get away with a lot more and make a lot less because of how well it sold when it first came out, plus the fact it’s a collectathon makes foregoing content seen as less shocking as long as there’s new collectibles in the game.

          • Ok but this is in a reality where gen 2 was the last game when pokemania was starting to die down anyways. It wouldn’t be what it is now.

            Plus bringing Kid Icarus from a platformer to a shoot em up/action game was a huge jump and I see no reason why they wouldn’t do something similar

          • Then you’re making a totally uncharted hypothetical scenario where we can’t predict the outcome. It was GameFreak that was considering ending the series there, not Nintendo, and it was unlikely to end just because of its formula and sheer popularity.

            And its marketability would still most likely lead to more quick, consumable models because there’s so many Pokemon that have the sheer force of marketing power to make the games worth producing quickly and constantly. Yes, they’d be different if different devs did it or they took a different route because it’s a restart, but the difference between Pokemon and Kid Icarus is that Kid Icarus was never wildly popular and thus they had a lot more liberty when it came to changes. They never had to worry that changing the system would effect reception because – lets be honest – Kid Icarus wasn’t exactly popular when it came out.
