  2. Zeraora is most likely a 7th gen pokemon just don’t forget that M Latios and M Latias were coded in x/y but were only available in ORAS (they could only be tranferred), Thousand Arrows and Thousaund Waves were both coded in x/y and ORAS but only available in S/M and AZ Floette was coded in both 6th and 7th gen and…where the hell is AZ Floette?

    Reply
    • It is 7th Gen. Those Megas aren’t separate Pokemon so do not count in the same way, same with the moves, ORAS is also still Gen 6so the Megas still don’t change generation before release. We had an article asking where AZ Floette is and most seem to think they just didn’t bother releasing it I think.

      • Flannery eagerly looked at the trainer before her as his Slugma burst onto the battlefield, facing her own.

“You’re going down!” She roared, thrusting her arm into the air. “Sluggy, use Ancient Power!”

Flannery’s larger Slugma ominously glared at her foe as she began to conjur fragments from a time long past. As the prehistoric projectile hit her foe, her body was enveloped in a vigorous red aura.

“You got stat boosts!? I call hax!” Her opponent cried out, quite angry. “Fine! We’ll just have to put you on a timer. Toxic!”

The foe’s Slugma emitted an eerie purple blob which cannonballed towards Sluggy, but her increased reflexes from the Ancient Power allowed her to dodge it and get behind her foe.

“Awwwwwright Sluggy, finish it off with an Earth Power!”

Sluggy cheerfully cried out as her body was coated in a golden aura. This brilliant light then leached into the ground – under her foe – and caused the floor to erupt with earthen energy.

“We did it Sluggy! One less badge to hand out today!” Flannery cheered, Sluggy reflecting her cheerfulness with a cry of glee.

“Hax… “ The young man whimpered as he turned and walked away.

        “Kakuna, use Harden!”

        “Metapod, get Harder!”

        “Kakuna, get even Harder!”

“Metapod, go even Harder than that!”

“Kakuna, as Hard as you can!”

        “Metapod, the Hardest!”

“BEYOND HARD, HYPER KAKUNA SUPER IRON DEFENSE HARDEN!”

The Kakuna’s body glistened a beautiful silver, in an almost metallic aura.

The Bug Catcher gasped accusingly. “That’s cheating!”

The other Bug Catcher chortled. “No, baka, it is succeeding!”

“Hmph!” The other other Bug Catcher hmphed. “We’ll just have to get even stiffer than you’ll ever be!

“Nothing can be harder than me and Kakuna right now!” The other other other Bug Catcher declared.

The other other other other Bug Catcher could only smile as he placed the Normalium Z on the Z-Ring around his wrist.

“HARDER THAN INFINITY! STIFFER THAN FOREVER! Z-HARDEN!” He screeched as he danced along with his Metapod.

Metapod’s body erupted with white, as it received its trainer’s full power.

“Now you’ve seen the full power of me and my nakama!”

Kakuna’s trainer only smirked, before delivering an epic one liner. “Omae wa mou shindeiru.”

Kakuna spat out a purple needle, which sunk into Metapod and gave it a malicious purple aura.

“NANI!?” Metapod’s trainer screeched as his partner went limp.

  6. Everyone is always going on about how GF removes mechanics every time we jump to a new gen. To this I say there’s one mechanic we’ll never get totally rid of. That’s Amie/Refresh. they’ll never be able to get rid of it because they made it necessary for obtaining Sylveon. At least we know it’ll likely continue to be around lol Also if that Pixelpar guy is right about the Switch game using the Switchs touch screen abilities I can almost guarantee that Refresh will be back in some way and use that feature. Otherwise what would be the point of the touch screen?

    Reply
      • Why would they only 2 gens later tho? They COULD, but wouldn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of Sylveons evolution mechanics then? I mean 2 of the others already use Friendship as a way of doing it so it’s not like they can just change it over to that.

        Reply
        • I’m just saying they can if they really want to get rid of the mechanic. Fan games that don’t have the mechanic but do have Sylveon have to do it. Similarly they might eventually get bored of having to put the Rocks in each game for Glaceon/Leafeon, though they should probably have done that with the introduction of the Ice Stone, but I guess they still want to show off the location evolution method with them.

          Reply
  7. So why the hell have eevees evolution menthods not been changed? Ice and leaf stones are a thing, nobody likes waiting until victory road for Glaceon

    Reply
    • The whole point of Eevee is to shill evolution methods.

Gen 1: Evolution was introduced this Gen, so either no gimmick or the gimmick is Eevee is the only branch evo in Gen 1(?) and thus Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon.

Gen 2: Time and happiness are added, both of which factor into Espeon and Umbreon’s evolutions.

Gen 4: Location based evolutions are added, along with a bunch of other methods (evolution with move, evolution with item + trade, etc). Leafeon and Glaceon are location based evolutions.

Gen 6: Affection is added, as is the Fairy-type. Sylveon covers both of these new features (primarily Affection, the Fairy-type move level up is to make it so other Eevee can have affection and evolve into its other Eevos).

      Reply
    • No, because Ice is actually a very good offensive type (which is why Dragons were non existent early game before Gen 7 as well, same with Steel before they started throwing Magnemite early in Gen 5/7 and Honedege in Gen 6). The issue is they come in far too late (later than Dragon and Steel, both of which are objectively better).

      Reply
  8. Cryogonal only appears in two regions, both of which are late game and where it’s encounter rate is never higher than five

  9. Speaking of Eevee, I hope we get some more evolution methods expanded. Gens 5 & 6 really stuck to trade, stone, and level-up (+ level up with happiness and level up with time) whereas Gen 7 had like no trade or stone evos outside of Alolans.

The Icy Rock and Mossy Rock defo need expansion. Magnetic areas already evolve three Pokemon. The Icy Rock will probably evolve Crabrawler in regions where there aren’t snowy mountains (but nearly every region has one, with Hoenn and Kalos being outliers if we count Mt. Silver for Kanto and Johto), but the Mossy Rock is kiiiinda useless.

Like, trade evos with specific items are fine because it means they don’t have to constantly throw that item at you (King’s Rock and Metal Coat can be very annoying for dex completion) but the Mossy Rock is an unlimited resource.
