TPCi Announces Year of Legendary Pokémon

The Pokémon Company International has announced 2018 as the Year of Legendary Pokémon!

To celebrate, special distributions for several Gen VII version exclusive Legendaries will be ongoing for the remainder of the year! These Legendaries can be obtained with any copies of Sun & Moon and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, however, the game you’re downloading them to will effect the Pokémon’s details. If you use USUM all of the Legendaries will arrive in your game at Level 100, however they’ll only be Level 60 in SM. Check out the full list of distributions for the year:

  • FEBRUARY – Dialga & Palkia via Gamestop (US) and GAME (UK)
  • MARCH – Regigigas & Heatran
  • APRIL – Raikou & Entei
  • MAY – Xerneas & Yveltal
  • JUNE – Shiny Zygarde
  • JULY – Tornadus & Thundurus
  • AUGUST – Kyogre & Groudon
  • SEPTEMBER – Latios & Latias
  • OCTOBER – Reshiram & Zekrom
  • NOVEMBER – Ho-Oh & Lugia

No word yet on distribution methods for the other Legendaries quite yet. In addition, Pokémon GO, Pokémon TCG, and Pokémon Shuffle will have various tie-in events throughout the year!

What other Legen-WAIT FOR IT-dary events would you like to see in 2018?

  1. Hey quick question for Seraph and Star: how did you guys like Naganadel? Just asking because I remember you two being the most hyped for Poipole back in the Pre-Release season.

  2. Lol. I just realized that this year is the year that Pokemon will be 20 years old in the United States. It’ll be that old in September since Red and Blue were released in September of 1998 in the U.S. That also reminds me. I should really get around to finishing Pokemon Gold on the 3DS VC. Who else hasn’t finished Gold/Silver 3DS VC or is planning to get Crystal for the VC?

  3. And I think I found a new love for monotype!
It’s very interesting, and it just much more fun than normal competitive play! Plus it kinda uses more mental mind in the sense that you fight a team that beats yours type wise. And if you win the satisfaction is amazing

    • until you constantly see the same old shite over and over and it becomes bloody repetitive for the crap your weak against, and believe me i’ve been doing Monotype for nearly four years and i’ve seen all the average teams and what they try to do

  4. Yay!! I got my new Pikachu mug today! It came really fast too. The same with my Pansear plush I ordered before as well. The Pokemon Center really ships out quickly. I’m not even doing 2 day shipping. The packages came within a couple of days of me getting the “package has been shipped” email. Anyway I’m gonna drink all kinds of liquids out of this mug. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/32d7db6583aad0e0ec5da8bc00bffe65688ff85a26b580225d143f5c5e765af6.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ed85e29d6faa7235e62f4b6be730c69de2bdceb4689bcc2903941897ed9a2172.jpg

  5. So this was my final team (after Episode RR) that I had in Ultra Sun, and this team was based around the idea that I had to use Pokémon (with the exception of the starter because I wanted at least one Pokémon from Alola) from previous playthroughs in different games (because USUM was a culmination of the 3DS games): https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/35c2fd3e9056857bfa59917569b7e08d409e7268c7f1dc1a74f46566851539c4.png
And here’s some bios about the Pokémon I used:

    Tony (Incineroar)
    Lv: 72
    Blaze
    Firium Z
    Hailing from: Ultra Sun
    Naughty
    – Flare Blitz
    – Darkest Lariat
    – Flamethrower
    – Outrage
Fun Fact: Never used the Incinium Z for Tony. I prefer watching something getting nuked by a large fireball rather than a 30 second wrestler move.

    Peeko (Pelipper)
    Lv: 71
    Drizzle (was originally Keen Eye)
    Sharp Beak
Hailing from an X nuzlocke (died early on)
    Impish
    – Scald
    – Stockpile
    – Ice Beam
    – Hurricane
Fun Fact: When I got to the 4th island, I spent about a good hour grinding Beach Points to purchase a 100 BP Ability Capsule. When Peeko learned Drizzle, he became the destroyer of worlds.

    Ion (Jolteon)
    Lv: 71
    Volt Absorb
    Magnet
    Hailing from Red
    Modest
    – Volt Switch
    – Signal Beam
    – Shadow Ball
    – Discharge
Fun Fact: Ion was actually the most used Pokémon I used in the whole 3DS generation of Pokémon games, with it being used in X, Red, and now US.

    Rocko (Sudowoodo)
    Lv: 72
    Rock Head
    Quick Claw
    Hailing from Heart Gold
    Naughty
    – Head Smash
    – Wood Hammer
    – Sucker Punch
    – Hammer Arm
Fun Fact: I was originally going to settle for a bug type (Heracross, Pinsir or Leavanny), but I ultimately wanted to use someone that I barely used in a play through, and Rocko gutted that idea nicely.

    Magneto (Metagross)
    Lv: 72
    Clear Body
    Metagrossite
    Hailing from Black
    Calm
    – Meteor Mash
    – Flash Cannon
    – Ice Punch
    – Zen Headbutt
Fun Fact: Magneto saved me in so many later fights, such as Ultra Necrozma, Totem Ribombee, and Lysandre. So glad I had him with me.

    Sandstorm (Flygon)
    Lv: 72
    Levitate
    Dragnium Z
    Hailing from Emerald
    Serious
    – Earthquake
    – Draco Meteor
    – Fire Punch
    – Dragon Claw
Fun Fact: Ironically, I finished off the game with Sandstorm, as I was barely able to unleash a Devastating Drake at Giovanni’s Mega Mewtwo X

    Thoughts about this team?

  6. When I finally make the full climb of the E4 in Black do I dare SR for shiny Reshiram once I get to that point? I reset for Ho-oh in HG last year and that wasn’t too bad, but there’s nothing guaranteeing my success this time……..

  7. Just realized how many shows either got out on hiatus or are pushed to 2019, like DBS is ending, and GOT, Stranger Things, and even Rick and Morty are pushed to 2019. Like this is too coincidental.

  9. I hope for Pokemon switch they bring back Triple battles. They were probably my favorite battle mode. It’s just so fun. I hated rotation, but if they bring one they got to bring the other. And they should also bring back Inverse battles. Inverse battles would make a good Battle Frontier Facility tbh.
Since (Im assuming) the switch pokemon wont have that much lag I think theyll bring them back

  10. My Winter break has been going on since December 15 and it finally ends today. For the first time in my life I’m actually not sad about it ending because I’m becoming bored out of my mind. I’m one of those people who actually ends up doing more with my free time when I have less of it, so I’m looking forward to the months to come. Of course, I’ll probably have lots more homework this semester than last semester but maybe that’s not such a bad thing!

  11. Just saw the poster for the new Pokemon movie, and I’m so confused. Like is it about Ash in Alola or is it a Sequel to I Choose You?
