  1. You’re in a desolate forest with nothing or no one around for miles. The sun is setting, which will cast a veil of darkness over the forest that will make finding your freedom much harder.

A strange man is in front of you, claiming to be part of some corporation that will soon rule the world. He gets ready to steal all your camping supplies, having already scared off your friends. As he commands his black Rattata to attack however, three Pokémon jump to your aid. A Paras, a Dewpider, and a Larvesta. Which do you command in your battle against the strange man?

    • I command a Dewpider and say “Call out your arachnid friends!” Nodding, it screech out a cry all arachnids share. Soon, Ariadoses, Galvantulas, Araquanids and their pre-eves all pop out and begins to show off their bitter, sharp fangs. They surround the man and veil him with webs. First, the Araquanids suck his inner water dry so he’d be dehydrated. Galvantula would then shock him to paralyze the man followed by a quick dose of poison. The pre-eves would carry the man off into the forest and you’d be rewarded by a shiny pre-evo of either of the three.

    • Larvesta is the most obvious choice for a few reasons
Not only is it that most likely this Rattata is Alolan meaning all three have a good chance of victory, but in long term Larvesta can grant you light so you can still navigate the forest and can help light fires that will keep you warm and save energy from looking for firewood.

Paras is the second choice as it is a night time Pokémon used to navigating dark places such as forests and caves so it can aid you, but has the drawback of if you can’t see it, then the reason to have it there is pointless

Dewpider may be cute, but is basically useless for finding your way as the only true way it can help is by providing fresh water for you (which you most likely already have)

      So I pick Larvesta

    • Lighting itself ablaze, I command Larvesta to attack the Rattata. The man sniggers as he commands a Super Fang, but Larvesta simply disregards him as his charge is halted with a String Shot. The young moth then simply charges at its foe with its wreath of flames, putting him out of commission.

The newly christened Saul assists me in getting back home by providing light and warmth.

  2. In the middle of exploring a dark, seaside cave, you hear muffled cries for hell. You and Paras/Larvesta/Dewpider decide to investigate. It’s a strange woman dressed in a similar fashion to the man form earlier.

Her black Raticate has subdued three different, rare Pokémon. A Lileep, a Slugma, and a Binacle. You can use your partner to free one before she notices, but the other two will likely be lost as her allies will soon arrive. Which of the three Pokémon do you choose?

  3. My turn to make a choose your own adventure!

While you’re walking down through a rocky cavern, you hear three muffled voices.
On the left corner, you see a Diancie struggling to get out, who was being chased by a horde of Sableye on the walls. In the middle, you see a Regirock threatened by a massive Milotic, who had it in her wet wet grasp. On the right, you see a baby Piplup, about to swallow a Cosmoem. Who do you rescue?

  5. The night sky above the Sea of Souls is chilling, as you come face to face with a Dusknoir attacking a little girl. Your usual allies, who have still not evolved, are too weak. Although you regret it, you may have to use that Master Ball you received for returning the stolen rare Pokénon you hadn’t taken.

A Jellicent bobs in the water, an apathetic buoy in a torrent of turmoil. It must’ve feasted recently to be so placid.

A Chandelure hovers over the surface of the lake, gleefully feasting upon the souls of those lost at sea.

A Decidueye solemnly stares at the occurrence, yet fears the Dusknoir who may reap its soul due to its lack of battle experience.

Which of these unlikely allies do you recruit?

  6. Alright alright forget those ideas, here’s my first real and serious one.

    Flaminta
    The Icy Flamingo Pokémon
    Type: Ice-Flying
Description: It’s said that Flaminta were a result of Swanna adapting to the great north in which some of them moved to after an accident in southern Unova.

    Flamont:
    The Tap Dancing Pokémon
    Type: Ice-Normal
Evolves from: Flaminta (you evolve it at lvl 20 with Tap Shoes)
Description: After harsh winds prevented it from flying, Flamont gave up its need to fly and developed a keen ability to tap dance, in order to break through the ice and catch its prey.

    Flamengo
    The Fiery Dancer Pokémon
    Type: Fire-Ice
Evolves from: Flamenta (lvl. 40, with an Oricorio feather)
Description: With it slowly being more adapted to the art of dance, Flamengo develops a fiery passion for flamenco dancing, in which many speculate it copied its ability from a certain type of Oricorio.

  7. You escaped the Dusknoir, but its cronies managed to fling odd Poison at your Pokémon. After a visit to Professor Hemlock, mater toxicologist, your Pokémon are cured. However, he thinks it’d be prudent of you to take one of his Poison-types because it assured that at least one of your Pokémon wouldn’t fall victim to the debilitating toxins from before.

    Your choices are:

A shy, yet selfless Foongus. It shields Pokémon under threat with its cap, and will use status moves and stat drops to buy time for its allies to meet their full potential.

A selfish, yet skilled Salandit. She’s very much a diva, but thankfully both you and the professor carry a rare gene that give you an immunity to her pheromones. But other males and certain females won’t be safe from her skill. But could this be an advantage?

A sulky, yet serious Mareanie. It’s focused on the mission at hand and will always try its best, but it sometimes gets in its own head and doubts its own skills. A history of rejection has made it as resilient mentally as it is physically.

    • Considering my already chosen Decidueye is known for striking from afar and playing a more supportive role, I decide to scoop up the Salandit so I may potentially create a combination with the two. Decidueye would hold the foe down while creating a tailwind to speed up the Salandit while the salandit would poison the immobile target to wear it down

      Reply
    • I think Mareanie. It also has the Limber ability in case they try to paralyze it. It can Poison Back with Toxic, has the ability to Recover its’ own health and potentially the ability to set Toxic Spike traps. Also if the professor is able to help it learn Scald we have the ability to burn.

  8. You’re playing in a seemingly empty park with your Pokémon, which are as follows:

    Parasect/Volcarona/Araquanid
    Magcargo/Barbaracle/Cradily
    Jellicent/Decidueye/Chandelure
    Amoonguss/Salazzle/Toxapex

However, you and your Pokémon are attacked by an onslaught of Poliwag, whirl, and wrath! The Pokémon of the park have been hypnotised by a tyrannical Politoed, and you’re only rescued thanks to a trio somehow immune to hypnotism: a Pignite, Quilladin, and a Polwhirl.

Two of them and your Pokémon fight of all the minions as you and one of the Pokémon fight against Politoed. You can choose one to help in getting their revenge.

Quilladin – Its mother and father were forced to battle it due to Politoed as it refused to become a paladin to Politoed unlike the hypnotised members of its species.

Pignite – As Politoed has Drizzle it makes the park constantly rain, forcing the native fire types to leave or face the risk of getting seriously hurt. They want their home back.

Polwhirl – The heir to the Poli tribe who was going to succeed after taking the Water Stone from his father. He now hates Politoed with a passion and will not evolve into one. He fights to free his people.

  9. So I finally beat Mario Odyssey last night. Was a long time coming, but it’s done. I’ll prolly take a break for a while from it and return once it’s settles. I’ve still got a bunch of moons to get and now that it’s just a collectathon I don’t want to burn out on it. I think I may buy the dlc for Zelda next and make that my next target. I never played the dlc from earlier this year so I’ll have some stuff to do. I’m trying get caught up on games/things I ‘ve been meaning to for a while, but didn’t have the time for. I will say tho that I’m gonna do it in a relaxed fashion. I’ll finish what I’m finishing when it get finished, but won’t stress about it. Taking one thing on my list at a time.

  10. Okay, I see some people with Festive nicknames, but when is the rest joining the merry group? If you’re out of ideas, you could for example make puns with names of Christmas Movies, like Home Alone, Charlie Brown Christmas Special, Grenlins or even Die Hard!

  11. You’re about to finally challenge the leader of that strange team. They’ve been stealing Pokémon to experiment on them, causing aggresive Pokémon such as ‘EXP-4.4:REAPER’ and ‘EXP-6.9:TYRANT’, the oddly strong Pokémon you defeated before. However, you decide to add a sixth teammate before you battle him and the Pokémon he calls ‘EXP-49.3:DISCIPLE’. So, what Pokémon do you seek for assistance?

    Jumpluff, Talonflame, or Gyarados?

  13. Ngl I don’t like XY much but like

    – 3D world hype
    -Sylveon type hype
    – Leak hype
    – Pokémon design hype (but in hindsight we should’ve immediately clocked the lack of Bug, Poison, Electric and Grounds revealed)
    – New type hype
    – First ever battle gimmick hype

SuMo was imo far better than XY but the prerelease for SuMo was nothing near XY hype. And the fact we might see our first Gen 8 mon as soon as January (but to be frank, it’ll be February or March) hypes me so much. Black/White hype and X/Y hype are some of my fondest memories as sad as that sounds :p

    • If you think that’s sad then I should tell you that my best hype season was SM and is the only one as well.

And for the switch thingy, I wish I were as hyped as you like, I can’t be hyped about a thing that I know nothing about really, but hopefully the teaser manages to do that ( even tho teasers never shows any footage of the game) and that it knocks off some of my worries ( like if they don’t use many of the capabilities of the switch)

Don’t know why this comment ended up being so long tho.

      • I think it’s because I’ve been through 3 generations of first games hype and I’ve never been disappointed with the hype season itself, hence I’m already hyped for a hype season ?
