Pokémon GO Travel Event + Pokémon Bank Update

Niantic has officially announced the Pokémon GO Travel event!

From now until to November 26th, trainers across the globe must work toward the goal of collectively catching 3 billion Pokémon in Pokémon GO! As the week progresses, and more ‘mons are caught, rewards will start to roll out: At 500 million Pokémon caught we’ll get 2x Experience, 6 hour Lure Modules and an increase of worldwide spawns. At 1.5 billion, we’ll get the previosuly mentioned bonuses plus 2x Stardust and even more increased spawns. And if we reach our goal of 3 billion we’ll get all the aforementioned rewards plus Farfetch’d will spawn worldwide for 48 hours (Kangaskhan will spawn in East Asia as compensation)!

If the below infographic isn’t your style you can check out the fun video Niantic put together for the event, or read their official blog post.

In main game news, (much to our surprise) Pokémon Bank is already compatible with Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon! Requiring 516 block, version 1.4 of the application is now available for download via the eShop. Along this, compatibility for transfers from Pokémon Gold & Silver can now be made in Poké Transporter.

What will be the first Pokémon your transfer to your new Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon games? Excited to finally add Farfetch’d to your Pokédex in GO?

  1. I think I have my final team planned out, I’m pretty happy with it to be honest! It sort of evolved over time, just the way I like it.

    Decidueye
    Malamar
    Florges
    Magmortar
    Politoed
    Archeops

I may switch Florges out for Metagross or something like that, but the chances are slim because I want a Fairy type on my team.

  2. So… everyone is posting their teams. What do you guys think of mine?

    Decidueye
    A. Marowak
    Toxapex
    A. Ninetales
    Araquanid
    Minior

    (Yes I’m basic)

I have enjoyed this game so much that I am kind of upset that I am so close to the end. On the bright side there are some quests I can still do and I plan 100 percent to get the dlc later so that should be fun. I think I will start ultra sun after I finish this. Or maybe even Mario Odyssey. We shall see.

  4. Ok so almost at the end of melemele.
IMO there are enough changes to keep me happy.
The opening is less tedious, there’s more plot with URS who I love, they’re so mysterious and unorthodox.
Level curves are better. Mantine surfing or the big wave beach/cave expands on SM melemele. I like the overworld mons and ability to interact with them! The Alola photo club feature might be my fav as the game progresses.
In a nut shell yes they’re very similiar but there are enough changes for me and I appreciate the less stalling at the beginning.
The game feels very polished too.

      • I think it’s just personal preferences. I can see people liking them easily and others hating them. I just like how unorthodox and alien like they are. They’re clueless and very wierd. That’s what I like.
I only played SM once which may be helping me in USUM but its good for me so far :]

        • So did I. I only played them once.

I honestly can’t believe that they made getting a starter faster and nothing else. It’s dreadful and I never want to play gen 7 again purely because of melemele being so damn boring

          • I mean its a major improvement over SM soo less clutter with Kukui etc and getting your starter.
Although it maybe not be much I do feel that you are more in the main game with URS appearance and features like APC/Mantine surf makes melemele feel more active/interesting/diverse then SM melemele which was more of a slow introducing process to Alolan life.
If you’ve only played SM once I’m surprised it bored you so much fam

          • Do they? The URS is just shoved in randomly and Mantine surf isn’t even a thing until you leave the island. What about it makes the island feel more active?

You know what would’ve been better? If Mele Mele was actually totally overhauled.

          • Or even better, we don’t set foot on Mele Mele until about half way through the game. Seriously man we should have started on one of the other islands…

          • Well it certainly has plenty to do. Poni island was my least favourite in the original. Mele Mele i forgave as a sort of tutorial island, but Poni was rubbish…

          • By active I mean there’s more life/more things to do not necessarily related to plot.
Firstly we have Alolan photo club which maybe a small feature but its still something extra to do.
Mantine surf maybe at the end but its still part of the experience, part of melemele
I like the side quests such as the one in Haouli Hall.
As for URS I am one of the people who enjoy them you seem to be the opposite
Ok so I’ve not listed anything revolutionary but we have to remember that we’re talking about the beggining part of the game, surely we can’t be expecting BF.
And yeah an overhaull woulda been better but im ok with how it is I feel its good enough, could have been worse:]

          • Yeah exactly as the games are not sequels we can’t really be expecting BW2 level of changes. However there have still been a good amount of changes on melemele. Honestly so far well done GF but I want you guys to go all out on Switch!!

          • No my expectations were higher I expected more change, just it’s harder to disappoint me and easier for me to express appreciation.
Keep in mind I have yet to complete the game to form my final opinion but as it stands I’m happy.
And if I don’t see major changes on the switch then you’ll see my fury at GF like you’ve never seen before ?

          • People would be better off if they thought like you and maybe me. Like just focusing on positives rather than complaining about every minute detail lol xD

  5. Well I was absent from here yesterday. It was a very busy day and I was not able to make progress on UM. So I still stand at 6:00 of gameplay and have yet to reach the Alola Photo Club. I might be busy today as well and the day after, and the day after…In other words, I feel like I am being stranded on Melemele while everyone else is finishing these games.

  6. So is everyone doing the worm hole method to find shinies? I might even search for them now… Sounds super easy.. super quick… Lol. The way I like it.
