Pokémon GO Travel Event + Pokémon Bank Update

Niantic has officially announced the Pokémon GO Travel event!

From now until to November 26th, trainers across the globe must work toward the goal of collectively catching 3 billion Pokémon in Pokémon GO! As the week progresses, and more ‘mons are caught, rewards will start to roll out: At 500 million Pokémon caught we’ll get 2x Experience, 6 hour Lure Modules and an increase of worldwide spawns. At 1.5 billion, we’ll get the previosuly mentioned bonuses plus 2x Stardust and even more increased spawns. And if we reach our goal of 3 billion we’ll get all the aforementioned rewards plus Farfetch’d will spawn worldwide for 48 hours (Kangaskhan will spawn in East Asia as compensation)!

If the below infographic isn’t your style you can check out the fun video Niantic put together for the event, or read their official blog post.

In main game news, (much to our surprise) Pokémon Bank is already compatible with Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon! Requiring 516 block, version 1.4 of the application is now available for download via the eShop. Along this, compatibility for transfers from Pokémon Gold & Silver can now be made in Poké Transporter.

What will be the first Pokémon your transfer to your new Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon games? Excited to finally add Farfetch’d to your Pokédex in GO?

    • Probably just happens when Exeggutor turns around to see what is slapping it and Makuhita gets caught by the tail, then Exeggutor sees nothing there and is confused as Makuhita blasts off again.

  1. So I’ve got my team fully assembled I guess. I’ve got a lot of grinding to do to get the lower 4 up to snuff, but in the end I think this team will be great. 3 of them have egg moves and all except Dartrix and Dewpider are eggs traded over. Should be a really cool team after they’re all fully evolved. Still bummed I won’t be using a totem sized Araquanid due to it not being able to go in bank and ultimately transfer up to later gens but I guess I’ll live with this. Either way I’m happy.

    Dartrix lvl 25 male
    Midnight Lycanroc lvl 25 female
    Dewpider lvl 17
    Stufful lvl 13 male
    Sandile lvl 15 male
    Alolan Sandshrew lvl 13 female

  2. whelp I’m an idiot. What am I doing complaining about not getting the lucky egg before post game when I have a perfectly good lucky egg in my Sun sitting being unused? For the record I just want to use the Lucky egg to get my lower mons up to the same level as my Dartrix and Lycanroc. Once that happens I’ll put it away until after I beat the game. I don’t want to make things too easy for myself after all. Just don’t feel like grinding for the sake of grinding…….

  4. Well as we were talking of Starters I want to share my thoughts of all starters

Kanto- I love the three of them, but I have to admit Charizard pulls through only because when I was little Charmander was my favorite Pokémon of all time.

Johto- I also like, but on a lesser scale as Meganium could be better. And my favorite is Feraligatr as I loved Totodile for so long

Hoenn- The first region I have a less positive view on. Sceptile definetly is great, but not a fan of Treeko or Grovyle. Torchic is fine, but I dislike the Chicken wing Combusken and mostly for how its so over rated Blaziken I have low likng for. Mudkip line I like all around, but I believe Swampert could be a bit better (It’s hands look weird)

Sinnoh- This region gets a Blue ribbon for some great starters, not one single problem with any of them

Unova- What a wasted opportunity Serperior was, could’ve made a Grass/Poison snake or Grass/Dragon maybe, but no we got a pure grass type with a blander level up move set then meganium, I like Servine and S nivy though based on looks. Tepig is cute and holds high favor for me. Do you have to ask, Oshawott is my favorite starter line ever I have 0 complaints about it at all.

    • Serperior isn’t wasted at all. Maybe type wise it could’ve been more interesting, but it’s the best out of the starters stat and battle wise.

    • Part 2

Kalos- Chespin is my favorite Grass starter, despite the hate that it turns into a fat lard according to some people, but it’s nice to see a Grass starter that actually can was meant for defensive power that can actually defend. Froakie and Frogadier could have looked less ugly, but Greninja’s pretty cool so no biggie. Fennekin… is just bland to me, Braixen I like for its design, but no Delphox, it looks pretty weird (It’s face doesn’t match its body) could have had hat like fur to look more like mage/witch/wizard, but all in all. Not my favorite

Alola- finishing strong on this, I have no complaints with the final stages, sadly for the first time I don’t like two of the mid stages, Dartrix and Brionne. Dartrix just looks like a pompous pr*ck and I don’t like that fact that it acts so prim with its stupid emo hair. Brionne I think points way to far towards being completely female, at least in some ways Primarina can be saved, but Brionne is has a dress (which most men don’t wear) and its called a Pop star Pokémon (Pop star 90% of the time means female) so yeah, but Torracat is great

Well this is my opinion on starters

      • Kanto-Starters are basic, but this is Gen 1 we’re talking about.Overall, I like them. My favorite is Charmander

Johto-As much as I dislike Gen 2, it had pretty good starters. My favorite is either Totodile or Cyndaquil

Hoenn-To risk sounding like a broken record, I like all of them except for maybe Torchic, but it’s evos more than make up for it. My favorite is Treecko

Sinnoh-Where I started, so nostalgia warning or something. I love all of them, they all look great in my eyes. This is the one Gen where I’m stuck between all of them as my favorite

Unova-Snivy line is fine, I just feel there’s improvement needed. Same with all of them, actually. I don’t really what I’d fix for Samurott, but I feel Emboar needs a redesign as much as I like it. My favorite is Oshawot.

Kalos-I love this region, it’s really cool. Same for the starters, all the final evos are really good (except for Delpox), with Greninja being my fave. I was actually gonna pick Chespin first before I saw Froakie’s evos. As I stated before, my fave is Froakie.

Alola-I love this region too. I like the starters, some more than others, but Rowlet I just don’t really like until Deciueye. I really like the Litten line, but yeah, Incineroar could’ve been better. I’ve started to warm up to Brionne, so I actually like it now. My favorite is Litten

  7. I just got a King’s Rock from one of the bubbling spots…and then immediately ran into a Poliwhirl. I think this is a sign. Anyone want to help me get a Politoed for my team?

  9. I just spent the last half hour moving my living dex in and out of my Ultra Moon in order to get my Pokedex as close to completion as I can before beating the game. My two regrets are I prolly should have been training my lower level mons and that I wish I could get the shiny charm before beating the game……oh well at least now all I need are the new UBs and a couple others that I had evolved in Sun. Some being Type Null which I evolved into Silvally so I don’t have one for my living dex yet and Cosmog which I evolved into Cosmoem. Both of which I’ll be able to get in these games easily.

  10. I’m having trouble choosing between all of the Fossil Pokemon for my team because I love all of them. I guess I’m tied between Kabutops, Archeops and Bastiodon. What should I do?
