Pokémon GO Travel Event + Pokémon Bank Update

Niantic has officially announced the Pokémon GO Travel event!

From now until to November 26th, trainers across the globe must work toward the goal of collectively catching 3 billion Pokémon in Pokémon GO! As the week progresses, and more ‘mons are caught, rewards will start to roll out: At 500 million Pokémon caught we’ll get 2x Experience, 6 hour Lure Modules and an increase of worldwide spawns. At 1.5 billion, we’ll get the previosuly mentioned bonuses plus 2x Stardust and even more increased spawns. And if we reach our goal of 3 billion we’ll get all the aforementioned rewards plus Farfetch’d will spawn worldwide for 48 hours (Kangaskhan will spawn in East Asia as compensation)!

If the below infographic isn’t your style you can check out the fun video Niantic put together for the event, or read their official blog post.

In main game news, (much to our surprise) Pokémon Bank is already compatible with Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon! Requiring 516 block, version 1.4 of the application is now available for download via the eShop. Along this, compatibility for transfers from Pokémon Gold & Silver can now be made in Poké Transporter.

What will be the first Pokémon your transfer to your new Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon games? Excited to finally add Farfetch’d to your Pokédex in GO?

  1. Grrr Hala is really pissing me off

I added Mime Jr. and Orocorio and they do nothing

Furball sits and Fire Fangs the Machop and Makuhita, but Crabrawler just sits and punches me and even once I heal just puts me in a worse spot because it lowers my health even farther

  2. So I have an idea for a new Pokémon. Can’t draw sadly but I will provide a picture of the animal it can be based on? Has anyone ever heard of the star spider? I recently found one outside my house and I feel it has a lot of potential as a cool Pokémon. Maybe a rock/bug type where it’s a star that fell from the sky? That or bug/psychic or bug/fairy. Note I got the picture off google after I typed in the spiders description lol https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/aa15a52aaaba651e4ba07fba78570039bbedb5846f3f6723f6def98dbcdba5ea.jpg

  3. After extensive study in each of the ultra sun wormholes I’ve compiled some interesting notes with each of the environments

Nihilego: The Ultra Deep Sea is composed of semi dark deep subterranean pockets of mineral laced gaves, Nihilego wander eerily like ghosts as they flutter about, they seem benevolent towards one another but one has to ask if they only pick up on thoughts and emotions of other people and Pokemon as they only engage you when close enough

Buzzwole: The Ultra Jungle’s humid tropical atmosphere might suggest be highly enriched with oxygen, large towering plantlife (or this could just be undisturbed growth for countless eons) and dense vegetation, interestingly enough Buzzwole appear to thrive in the mouth of the large volcano which could mean they thrive in intense heat or the cone like structure is idea for nesting

Xurkitree: The Ultra Plant is very bizarre, a mostly mineral world always brewing with lighting bolts possibly from the fluctuation of electrical charges in the ground and the from the sky, interestingly enough towering structures that resemble Xurkitree can be seen in the distance, perhaps the variety of Xurkitree we are familiar with are either juvenile or dwarf species, perhaps some just stay rooted in the ground and spend their life feasting on energy and growing

Kartana: The Ultra Forest harbors a much more baffling lifeform than the Kartana, actual humanoids, each capable of speech and the use of pokeballs, each equipped with their own Kartana which is assumed to be extremely important to their culture which swordplay and honing their slices is very important, this forest is covered with plants that highly resemble Kartana limbs which could suggest they are born from the trees

Guzzlord: The Ultra Ruins is by far the most disturbing, wreckage and a toxic atmosphere, this metropolitan planet left for dead with only handfuls of survivors, a lone survivor claims Guzzlord have long inhabited this planet far before other intelligent life, these “humans” had modern comforts and advances in technology perhaps they have used Guzzlord as their personal waste management systems or they had a population boom which threatened the humans, but now they wallow in junk devouring what they can get as their numbers diminish

    It’s Called Brock’s Ultra Challenge:

The rules are simple, see how far you can get via the ultra wormhole challenge, take a photo of the distance, and the farthest one wins! It’s based on Brock’s gym trainer comment, which is impossible in game, but still. Bonus points for White Wormholes~

  5. Sh! T mythical lol

Name: Chacka (Chacki, a trinket without much use, and Ka, a part of the spirit in Egyptian mythology that could remain attached to the statue of a person)
    Classification: The Porcelain Pokémon
    Type: Ghost/Ground
    Ability: Sculpter

Appearance: A humanoid made out of white and blue porcelain, it’s beautifully crafted with red light behind its empty eyes.

    Dex entries:
A vain woman asked a witch to make her beautiful forever. She later learnt that porcelain could last for a very long time.

It is believed that looking into its eye sockets without a strong will causes you to become this Pokémon’s personal puppet.

*Thus ability causes all of the Pokémon’s creations (Screens, terrains, weathers) to last a bit longer.

  6. Daaaaang everyone finding shinies like crazy. Haven’t seen this much shiny pics since xy and I don’t think you guys have shiny charm. With my handy shiny charm before kiawe trial I’m gonna be hunting for the big guns.

    • I thought the same thing when I made a live dex in X/Y!
I also regret not doing the event legendaries b/c I don’t have Genesect, Meloetta, Volcanion, etc.

      • Same! It’s very intimidating. I think my biggest problem, I tell myself I need a legend for competitive and one for living Dex, but lets be real. Competitive battling probably won’t be happening here any time soon

    • I have a sort living Dex. Well not anymore I guess. I need the new UBs and the mythical, but asnoff SM I have a sort of living Dex. I call it a “sort of living Dex” because some of the Pokemon are part of my past teams. Some day I’ll get extra Pokemon to fill the spots, but for now it is what it is. In any event I essentially have a living Dex. Just no all together

  7. Can I just say how much I hate Nintendo’s account system? Why in the world did they think it was ok to make two separate accounts that need 2 separate passwords when it make so much more sense to just do one single account? I hate this so much. I had to reset both passwords to make them both the same. I just hate that I had to go through the hassle of figuring out passwords and getting emails

      • What the hell is the difference between the regular Nintendo account and the Nintendo ID? They basically have two different accounts and it’s dumb. They shouldn’t even offer the option to be able to log into two different things

  8. If you were a Pokémon professor, what Pokémon would you give out? They must have the same amount of stages, be around the same power, and have the same number of evos.

    Example:

    Florges
    Aggron
    Machamp

Well this is why you don’t play VR for a hour straight

        • I’m kind of torn on Blastoise. I love it, but it’s also such a strange change compared to the first two stages. It’s like the Toucannon of Gen 1 lol. Love it, but it’s odd at the same time.

          • That’s Pokemon evolution for you!
Although I’ve never noticed that with Blastoise. I can see quite a drastic change but maybe that’s intentional in the design process?
I love the cry/expression both have in the anime!

  10. Think I’ll gather most of the new ‘mon in the ‘dex in gen 6 since there are a fair amount of high level evolvers and I can just use Blissey bases. I’ll try to prepare for an early shiny charm when I get the game.

  11. Whelp Kiawe’s trial was much easier than I thought it’d be. I didn’t think I was going in over leveled, but I think I ended up being so with all my mons at lvl 26. Oh well his trial was never really the hardest to begin with. Altho Salazzle in SM was prolly a trickier Pokemon to take on than the new Totem

    Reply
      • I had my Araquanid take it on. It’s got Bubblebeam, Infestation, Aqua ring, and Bugbite in it’s moveset so Marowak wasn’t really much of a problem. Getting poisoned by Salazzle was annoying, but between Aqua ring and a couple potions it really wasn’t much of a problem. Again I was pretty over leveled as well. Didn’t mean to be, but that’s kind of how it turned out.

        • Oh, nice. Yeah, all I had to take on it were Larvitar (who was OHKO’d by brick break), Charjabug (Who got in an electroweb to slow them down before fainting), Togetic (who put up a really good fight despite being weak to Salazzle. I had it use future sight on Salazzle and Yawn on Marowak. That really helped. Then it fainted after I got those in.) And then Gyarados and Snorlax were the last in my party as Litwick fainted taking out the pokemon before the Totem appeared.

          • Hmmm interesting. I had trouble with Lana’s Totem and I was only a couple levels above that. Maybe that extra level or two on top of being slightly higher than the opponent really makes the difference.

    • The fire trial was really easy because I had chosen Popplio (again), honestly either since Water + Fairy as a combo is pretty Op or the fact i overleveled it and was struggling not to get it over the max level, I was able to one-shot the Totem with a Z-Move.

      Reply
      • Yeah my Araquanid made pretty quick work of the trial. Altho I used my Lycanroc and Sandile for the first couple of mons. Wanted to save the main star of the trial for the Totem

        Reply
        • Ah, but for me personally the hardest trial was the grass one, as usual. Luckily I learned my lesson and had gotten a Salandit prior to battling so it was levelled up and ready, but I struggled to take down Lurantis.
