Pokémon GO Travel Event + Pokémon Bank Update

Niantic has officially announced the Pokémon GO Travel event!

From now until to November 26th, trainers across the globe must work toward the goal of collectively catching 3 billion Pokémon in Pokémon GO! As the week progresses, and more ‘mons are caught, rewards will start to roll out: At 500 million Pokémon caught we’ll get 2x Experience, 6 hour Lure Modules and an increase of worldwide spawns. At 1.5 billion, we’ll get the previosuly mentioned bonuses plus 2x Stardust and even more increased spawns. And if we reach our goal of 3 billion we’ll get all the aforementioned rewards plus Farfetch’d will spawn worldwide for 48 hours (Kangaskhan will spawn in East Asia as compensation)!

If the below infographic isn’t your style you can check out the fun video Niantic put together for the event, or read their official blog post.

In main game news, (much to our surprise) Pokémon Bank is already compatible with Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon! Requiring 516 block, version 1.4 of the application is now available for download via the eShop. Along this, compatibility for transfers from Pokémon Gold & Silver can now be made in Poké Transporter.

What will be the first Pokémon your transfer to your new Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon games? Excited to finally add Farfetch’d to your Pokédex in GO?

  1. Head-canon time. My first time so please pardon how bad it is. Pearl the Trumpbeak had journeyed with Astolfo the Primarina and her trainer for a while-simply enjoying the time that she has been with them. At Paniola ranch she sees a wild Pikipek who always gets into trouble. At first she thinks that Pikipek is quite troublesome, but when her trainer and her were about to be run over by Tauros, that Pikipek jumps in to save them from a stampede of Tauros, evolving into a Trunpbeak herself. Despite the times that Pearl has spent with her trainer, she felt the need to help this newly evolved Trumpbeak. So the trainer and her decided it was best for them to part ways and continue their own journey.

(This head-canon was made in order to give a story to my decision to switch out Punk the Glaceon for Pearl).

Now for the Trainer’s side of the story. A newly hatched Eevee was just stumbling along and started following a Rogue Alola-Vulpix, when the Vulpix was suprised when the Eevee bumped into it and accidentally attacked a Tauros at Paniola Ranch. Thus, a stampede ensued and the Trainer was caught in the mess (resolved in Pearl’s departure story). Afterwards the Alola Vulpix walked off leaving behind a fragment of an Icy Rock from Mount Lanakila. After taking it, the Day-care has asked the trainer to take care of the Eevee-which he decided to do so.

(A story of departures and greetings).

  2. It has been 12:19 of gameplay and I am just about to tackle the second trial. I ended up getting overlevelled so I hope it doesn’t make the trial too easy for me.

    Astolfo the Brionne Lv. 25
    Punk the Glaceon Lv. 23

I won’t be getting a 3rd Pokemon until after the the 3rd Trial, so hopefully this will tide me through. I am probably going to avoid wild encounters now to make sure that my level doesn’t get too high.

  3. The 2nd Trial was way too hard. Both of my Pokémon were easily 4 levels over it but they barely put a dent on the Totem. I nearly thought I was going to lose.

  4. In the middle of the 3rd Trial. The trial is difficult if you are not apart paying attention.

    Punk the Glaceon Lv. 27
    Astolfo the Brionne Lv. 26

And guests have arrived at my house. Guess I will have to put it on hold.

  5. AAAARGH
My brother has zero consideration towards anyone around him, he tears apart the basement to make room for his VR sensors, and moves my desk with amy delicate and fragile gaming mouse (which is extremely old) without my permission and it’s all gnarled, and on top of that he stunk up the place with pot smoke and incense
and I actually believed his bull promise to put it back together

  6. Well I was able to get 5 minutes to myself before we left for food. Punk the Glaceon did well against two Fire types, bringing the Totem down to half health before fainting on the third turn of combat. Allowing for Astolfo the Brionne to sweep it up by defeating the Ally Pokémon and the Totem Pokémon respectively. So far I am quite happy with the improvements made on the Trials. Also I am enjoying these games a lot more now that I know that there are worse things to do now than playing games that are a little bit too similar to SM: entertaining guests.
