Final Ultra Sun & Moon Trailer + REVIEW WRAP-UP

Well friends, the final chapter of our Alolan adventure is almost upon us and the final trailer before the release of Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon has arrived.

The review embargo for the games has also been lifted, so here’s what official outlets are saying:

  • Nintendo Life 10/10 – “You’d be forgiven for not wanting to jump back into the same world again so soon but, in their own right, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are truly incredible entries to the series that deserve to be sitting amongst the elite Pokémon titles.”
  • GameReactor 9/10 – “The story is much more engaging this time around, there’s plenty of call-backs for long-time fans, and the title’s proceed to push the 3DS even further.”
  • Gamespot 8/10 – “Though they aren’t very different from their predecessors, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon make enough changes to stand apart as the definitive version of the seventh generation games.”
  • EGM 8/10 – “The definitive edition of Pokémon Sun and Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon encapsulate the elements of what made the first set of games great—and also carry forward some of the games’ flaws.”
  • TheSixthAxis 8/10 – “Plenty of new features and details will make fans of the franchise very happy and while I still mourn for the DexNav to this day, the new content is well worth becoming Alolan Champion once more.”
  • GameXplain ‘Liked-A-Lot’ – “They feel incredibly familiar to those who have traveled to Alola before”
  • Famitsu 36/40

  1. So I actually played a little Breath of the Wild, something I haven’t done in a couple of months, at first it was just me dicking around with Magnisis and a metal crate then I only went around wearing the hero’s clothing and whatever weapons I could find (which came to a staggering halt when a random Silver Moblin nearly 2 shot me) then I did my all time favorite pastime Lynel Hunting

But one thing that was important, I saw all three dragons in my travels tonight and each one of them just reawakened the long forgotten spark which makes me truly love and appreciate how enchanting and bewildering this game truly is

  2. Oh and during my Animation Club meeting I sketched a new little fellow

He remains unnamed, but for now I just call him a “rodent like creature” https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/52ea1aa64687b8c68886a22df9fb12f4dd28c21c046e0353bc8271252fd63d28.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/dc13244bef674a22ed743febc50bc72120dd95dd7869020b004b14b9263c07c9.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c52fd0964a24605873d9086de1d87f230f578217c84256c5b96fa3ccc3d501ce.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/8bf67be3d0cd8e591d565c4b2479d8b76d5d3d4656c270ddc738f92f1c7d6ed5.jpg

I just basically just drew a circle added the muzzle and then saw this and keep going (I hope to get to bring him to life once he’s finalized)

  4. Can someone give me a rational explanation as to why move tutors aren’t included in every game…? Does anyone else think it’s stupid they’re held back until third versions/sequels/remakes? I don’t get Gamefreak’s “logic” there.

  5. Part of me is surprised that almost everything except Ultra Necrozma’s appearance was covered before launch. Due to the game leaks, it’s confirmed that there’s nothing else new. Lots are holding onto hope to a Day One patch that adds a bunch of new stuff…
But we all know that isn’t gonna happen.

    • I seriously hope you aren’t serious when you say that “lots” of people are hoping for a day one patch with new content. The chances of that are lower than me getting struck by lightning five times in a row and getting a girlfriend on the same day.

    • True, same happened is SM where there were barely anything new that wasn’t covered by trailers, like I wish this game had more surprises 😐

        • Yeah I think GF’s mindset was
When USUM was announced: “Well we spoiled everything ahead of SuMo, let’s give them suspense to make up for it.”
Also at the beginning: “Pokken is coming sooner so let’s put the focal point on that for now then wait for this game.”

After 2 months: “Well fans hate us now, lets give a lot of spoils.”

I kinda hope Pokémon Switch leaves alot in the dark before the game like reveal, a fourth of the Pokémon and new features

  6. I started my pokemon Silver journey very late but I did it. I beat the Elite 4 for the 1st time through with no trouble. I re-used some of the pokemon back in the original Silver copy but it’s for nostalgia sake. Not sure if I’ll have enough time to speed through Kanto and Red before USUM comes out but I’ll try.
Here’s my team that I used:
Watergator the Feraligatr ( male, was part of my original team )
    Slash, Ice Punch, Bite, Surf
Beebop the Ampharos ( female, was part of original team but with different name )
Thunder Punch, Strength, Light Screen, Thunder Wave
Sunny the Umberon ( lucky to get as a female, wasn’t part of the original team but I remember this pokemon so fondly because I originally wanted a Espeon and then my kid self forgot that eevee has to evolve during the day time )
Return, Confuse Ray, Bite, Feint Attack
Aero the Lugia ( part of my original Team, nowadays I don’t use legendaries on my team but I was a kid back then and used them up until BW/B2W2 )
    Aeroblast, Waterfall, Fly, Recover
Flutters the Venomoth ( male )
Psychic, Leech Life, Gust, Sleep Powder
Dori the Dragonite ( female )
Dragon Breath, Fire Punch, Thunder Wave, Wing Attack

  7. It’s sad that they are mostly working for legendaries and UBs.

    86 Pokemon in Gen 7, 23 are UBs and legendaries, that’s 27%!

    Previous generations:
    Gen 6: 8%: 72 New Pokemon, 6 legendaries
    Gen 5: 8%: 156 New Pokemon, 13 legendaries
    Gen 4: 14%: 107 New Pokemon, 15 legendaries
    Gen 3: 7%: 135 New Pokemon, 10 legendaries
    Gen 2: 3%: 100 New Pokemon, 3 legendaries
    Gen 1: 1%: 151 new Pokemon, 2 legendaries

They had good trend with Gen 5 and 6. Highest was Gen 4; people always say it was because Sinnoh was the home of many legends and myths. Now we have 27%, almost twice of the Sinnoh.

  10. How to fix the type chart

    – Rock resists Bug
    – Fairy no longer resists Bug
    – Ice resists Water and Ground
    – Never give Steel another resistance again. Like ever. Just leave Steel

Morning…..I have to do a gigantic amount of yard work today if I don’t want my mother to bitch at me for my upcoming USUM day (which I’ll be considered dead and buried with a bag of chips) I could always drive to the park and play it in my car but nahhh

And today is the very last full day of waiting, tomorrow is technically USUM eve so it doesn’t entirely count
