RUMOR: More Alolan Forms from Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon

DISCLAIMER: Rumors are not confirmed information, should not be thought of to be confirmed information and should not be shared as confirmed information. These are for discussion purposes.

We shared a rumor with you that Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon may be getting additional Alolan Forms of older Pokémon in a previous post, but now we’re going to share a little bit more. Please be aware that some may find this a form of spoiler so you are advised not to read further, even though we are posting this as an unsubstantiated rumor totally outside the scope of official information.

The reason that we are posting this to append the previous rumor is because of the confirmation we got about Rainbow Rocket’s takeover of Aether Paradise (which could be seen on the Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon download card). A Chinese fan sent us some of this information which also seemed to line up with other things we had heard from separate sources.

  • Alolan Oddish, Alolan Gloom and Alolan Vileplume will all have Poison/Fairy-typing
  • Alolan Parasect will be Bug/Ghost (the rumor did not mention Paras so I will not infer anything there)

I am taking this with as much salt as you should, but I’m definitely hopeful because there seems to be a lot of potential for all the Pokémon named in the rumor and it would be great to see these unique typings as well (Shedinja aside)!

  1. Honestly? Bug/Ghost Parasect makes a LOT of sense. It’s already a walking talking zombie being eaten away by the mushroom on it’s back. It’s basically dead anyway. I buy as possible. that said the two typing for the Oddish line and Parasect are predictable. I’d like to see something crazy like Alolan Marowak. I’m sure there’ll still be surprises tho. I think next week’s trailer will be our first taste of the new Alolan forms. It’s likely gonna be a big trailer given how they’re giving us a heads up so why not show us something we thought wasn’t gonna happen? lol Anyway I think next trailer we’ll get a lot of confirmation for a few of the rumors and leaks we have so far. Maybe even have some rumors drop out of the race altogether.

  2. Really hope this is true. Really want more alolan forms. Just hope some Pokémon besides just gen one get some if it’s true

  3. lol No. Anyways nice to hear news is confirmed for the 2nd. We didn’t get a trailer this week though like I had anticipated so it will probably just be then instead but eh that is fine.

    • What makes you “lol no” it? It’s not like this is a crazy out there rumor that couldn’t possibly happen. Plus given how a few of the rumors that are steadily gaining credibility say there are Alolan forms I don’t see what the problem is.

        • Not if there are only a few of them this time around. It’s still likely that we’ll get at least one more new UB plus we still have the light form of Necrozma too. There’s still plenty of things they need to show off and could have shown off earlier, but didn’t. I’m not sure the “they would have shown them already” argument is a good one. They can show things off in any fashion they want really. Whether how they show the new stuff is well done is another issue.

          • There are no more UB either and light form as you are calling will likely not be talked about and saved for players to discover ourselves. But whatever believe what you want I would gladly be wrong.

          • How can you say with 100% certainty that there are no more new UBs? Why would they only create 3 new ones and show them all off before release? That makes no sense given how even with when they reveal a large majority of brand new Pokemon they still keep a few hidden for people to discover. I’m not saying 100% that there will be new UBs or new Alolan forms, but talking as if you have the game already seems a bit close minded……..but like you said we can believe what we want. Agree to disagree I suppose.

          • maybe the same way ORAS showed… EVERY SINGLE FREAKING NEW MEGA… Gosh was that a massive disappointment. Not agreeing with, just saying.

          • There is actually an interview on YouTube that says there are more new Pokémon to be shown that they can’t talk about right now. From the context it is implied that it could be more UB.

  4. I’m siding with Pokejungle in his sugesstion to take this with as much salt as possible. I am very happy about these rumors, but there is one thing that I do dislike. That the Alola Oddish line is supposed to be Poison/Fairy. Don’t get me wrong I love the type combination. My issue-and this has been on my mind for a while especially for this generation with all of the new typing combinations-we are reaching a point where we all type combinations will have at least one Pokémon; meaning there won’t be any more new typing combinations. I am really interested in how everyone else feels about this. Please reply if you have any thoughts.

  6. So my UM team is confirmed to have:
    Decidueye
    Lycanroc Dusk
    Alolan Persian
Inky the Shiny Mimikyu (that I just bred)
    Maybe Kommo-o

        • No it’s the same for me. I want to plan my team as well, but I have gone through so many revisions already and the fact that new Alola forms are not set in stone (eh I am keeping my comment relevant to the article) is what is preventing me from doing so.

    • So if UB-Adhesive is available early on in-game then it’s on my team. Otherwise:
      Primarina
      Lycanroc Dusk
      Alolan-Oddish
      UB-Adhesive
      Alolan-Parasect
      Golisopod
      Alolan-marowak
      Mimikyu
      Volcarona
      Lopunny

Basically a combination of these that doesn’t repeat type.

  7. Fun fact:
There are two kinds of Radioactive Alligators both of which humans created. That is both horryfying and an amazing idea for a Poison type Pokemon.

  8. Alolan Oddish just might make it onto my team and maybe even Alolan Parasect! I hope we get more than this but if we dont than for once in my life ill be using an Oddish in one game and a Parasect in another. I feel like Poison/Fairy might be a stretch for a typing though. Maybe they’ll have it by the garbage place on the second? island

    • I think that I agree with you on using Alola Oddish if it is Poison/Fairy. I’m not sure about it being available early on since we are confirmed to have a formal trail for Mina. There aren’t really any Fairy types on Poni Islanf aside from Granbull so they might just add the Alola Oddish line to Poni Island.

If I do use it my team might look like

      Decidueye
      Komala
      Alola Oddish
      Bruxish
      Lycanroc Dusk
      ???

      • I think the Alolan forms were basically made for Kanto pokemon that no longer have a chance at being used competitively since there are now pokemon that do what they used to do but better. Oddish/Paras always seemed mad basic to me so now with the possibility of them getting new and interesting typings I’m intrigued to use them

  9. First, I think these types aren’t real. I think people are just listening to whatever they see goes with the previous rumors. So I highly doubt this.
Second, If they do bring back alola forms, I really hope, but strongly doubt, they will add more than just 2 different lines. What if they use both Bellsprout and Oddish line and make it version exclusive. Also does it HAVE to be Kanto mons? That’s just annoying. GF is not good at diversity.

  10. Bah these cant be real, I mean Oddish just won’t stop being a plant, and because Gloom has a branched evolution that skips a gen that is clear indication that it won’t have an alolan form

And I’m really hitting Odyssey hard today I have 40 moons in Desert kingdom

  11. Things that are still in mystery:

    – Star shaped pokemon on the box arts.
    – Mimikyu and Togedemaru speculated z moves.
    – Rainbow Rocket plot.
    – Festival Plaza battle facility.
    – Fire trial update (today a new picture of the trial has been posted on the official site: nothing changed with A marowak stupid game apparently).
    – Fairy Trial.
    – Gym simulation (?) in Malie.
    – Different plot (we know that Lilie escaping from AP and Nebby on the bridge with koko will happen again so at least the first part looks the same even if URS is replacing AF in the intro).
    – Legends found in Ultra Space. How and how many?
    – Is it possible to ride Solgaleo in UM and Lunala in US as we saw on the download cards?
    – New UBs, possible.
    – New Alola Forms, always less possible but still not impossible.

  12. This is interesting… I think I would love a Poison/Fairy and Finally Shedinja will not be the only one with such an interesting type

    Reply
  13. I need both these regional variants in my life. Poison/Fairy is a new dual type and even though i like Shedinja, i dont like using it in playthroughs so hopefully this rumour is true about both Parasect and Oddish line.

    Reply
      • Eh it can only be killed by supereffective moves, so that gives it an advantage in certain battles. I’ve never seen people use it in competitive battles though, its probably viable enough for a regular playthrough but i just never really gave it a chance

        Reply
          • It has a decent movepool with access to Shadow Sneak, Shadow Ball, Phantom Force and Heal Block through level up and TMs like Substitute (which wont kill it because its not SE despite Shedinja having only 1 HP)

      • It’s great for catching certain ORAS legendaries.

A Shedinja that knows False Swipe

Good for the Lake Trio, Cresselia, Suicune, Kyurem, Zekrom, Virizion, Cobalion, Dialga, Palkia, Lati@s (with Eon Ticket event), Kyogre, Rayquaza, and Deoxys.

Have a strong Pokemon False Swipe them to 1 HP and then let Shedinja float there while you throw Pokeballs or get him to smack the target as needed with False Swipe.

  14. Apparently in the media there is outrage on a new game called Draconis Go
    https://www.google.com/search?q=draconius+go&safe=strict&client=ms-android-verizon&prmd=nsiv&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj53uj3zpHXAhVC7IMKHVwgBYYQ_AUIDigA&biw=360&bih=560&dpr=4

They claim they aren’t ripping off Pokémon, but looking at some of the parts of it. It uses very similar backgrounds, uses the same gym system, Has the same looks during battle (has the same setup as Go where you can only fight in Gyms) and a very similar method of how to catch Dragons as to Pokémon

Idk do you think it’s a knock off or do you think it’s a unique, original idea?

  15. Would it be weird if my Normal/Ground Hatchick fakemon evolved into either into male Psychic/Ground Roosken or female Fairy/Normal Chichen?

    Reply
      • Yeah, That’d make more sense, but it doesn’t fit the mon that much. I would make it Fairy/Ground, but I already got one Fairy/Ground mon so I don’t know

        Reply
        • It’s quite alright imo to add multiple of a new type. As long you don’t have like a 5th of your dex already being Ground, then Fairy/Ground could work

And why wouldn’t it fit for the Female to switch from Fairy/Normal to Normal/Fairy? The male is fine as is on the other hand

          Reply
          • It’s just a special dynamic between the two mons, Fairy and Psychic. But maybe I’ll make it Normal/Fairy…
