As expected, a brand new trailer for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon was released!
The trailer highlights changes to the Alola region itself, as well as new looks for the protagonists. It also briefly shows a look at returning characters, such as the musician Ryuki.
The Japanese trailer also contains a look at the new Z-Power Ring and some new Z-Moves featured in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Watch it below!
[UPD] In addition to the trailer, Clangorous Soulblaze, Kommo-o’s brand new, exclusive Z-Move has been revealed at the opening ceremony of Worlds 2017! This new Z-Move can hit multiple targets, raises all of Kommo-o’s stats by one level, and requires Clanging Scales as its base move. Broken much?

Idk now that I have a switch and they’ve revealed the title is coming to that platform, this all just feels like filler. They don’t have any trailers with groundbreaking new stuff. They don’t even seem to have a marketing plan hat is meant to get people excited. The mystery of the legendary has never been the strongest point of any game save for BW and RS.
Not being negative per se, I’m just drained of hype and money and don’t feel this game will be on my list.
Idk from this trailer alone it at least looks like more new content than Emerald and Platinum tbh. Even if it it’s filler it’s probably gonna be a better filler since they’ve had a year to tune up SuMo.

Yeah I’m thinking. I’ll skip this one. I’ll still speculate and love the new forms and stuff so as not to make anyone feel bummed about it, cuz I don’t want to be a Debbie downer. But third games have never felt entirely worth it to me. They’d have to add A LOT of new pokemon for me to want it.
I think the story will be difrent. Don’t give up just yet!
How can you tell that just from this?

I’d say that’s a really good theory but it’s worth pointing out that Necrozma, Solgaleo and Lunala’s ability all refer to protection of sorts (Full Metal Body/Metal Protect in Japan, Shadow Shield/Phantom Guard, and Prism Armor)
Although notably, Prism Armor is the same in both languages
Solgaleo and Lunala represent elements of light, while Necrozma represents the absence of light. Starting to think this whole absorbtion stuff ain’t that far fetched after all

It kinda bugs me how much Japanese stuff is in this game based in Hawaii… MeleMele is the only island that has that tropical Hawaiian feel

Idk, I’d say that the whole region has a tropical feel due to the beaches and stuff, especially with the resorts and amount of beaches. And even then I’d still say that Poni still gives off a strong Hawaiian vibe whilst Akala and Maile are celebrating Hawaii’s Asian populations and its connections to mainland America (Paniola)
Also Alola doesn’t have to be 1 to 1 with IRL Alola

It took them two months to concretely say that it wasn’t a sequel. We didn’t even have box arts. We had nothing but silence for two months. Not even little hints or anything.
It makes it seem like these games have such little content they can’t show anything
‘Alternate story’ does not indicate sequel in any way, shape, or form. If it was a sequel, it’s be explained at reveal or actually he in the title with a big fat ‘two’.
Box arts probably weren’t show due to the eyes on them, which is possibly teasing something completely new like a form.

The last time there were two games in a third version it was Black and White 2. Sun and Moon was very story driven. New protagonists. Updated region. Alternate story could’ve meant anything
BW2 weren’t third versions at all though. They were clearly marketed as sequels from the start. The word ‘alternate’ immediately disqualifies a straight sequel because it means a different thing from the original, not a follow on

“Until you beat Ilima” not only you still have Pkms by then but that’s a fairly late area to not have the starters already

The area that Rockruff is running in is surrounded by a fence. I have a feeling Rockruff won’t be able to follow you outside of that fence

But this kind of fence is the fence that doesn’t allow you to get in a certain area until you beat certain trial, and this is route 1, which is again, a very odd place for such a feature

I mean it is new that’s for sure. I’d say it’s more of a hint of the Necrozma fusion than anything else tho. In XY we had dna looking symbols for Mega evolution, in ORAS we had the Red and Blue orbs, and in SM we had the Z crystals. So it’s prolly a hint at whatever causes the Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma forms lol

Something I find interesting is the boundaries being changed for the islands this time around. Seems like there’s a lot of water drying up on the beaches causing more sand bars and the beaches to expand. I wonder what the deal with that it. Also I find it interesting that on Poni island the rocks that kept you from leaving the beach in the Poni wilds. Plus with those rocks removed there are new ones over by Poni breaker coast and I think a new beach that wasn’t there before. I wonder if we can surf to Exeggutor island now? lol
