Pikachu Outbreak-Chu Event: Mewtwo in GO, Snapchat Filter & More!

To tie in with the Pikachu Outbreak-chu event in Yokohama, Mewtwo has officially been released via Legendary Raid in Pokémon GO as an exclusive to the Pokémon GO Stadium event in Yokohama, Japan!

Shortly after Mewtwo’s first appearance in the stadium, Niantic released an official statement that it would be coming to players worldwide via a new mechanic called Exclusive Raid Battles. These work exactly like regular raid battles with the only difference being to participate in them you have to be invited to them. To receive an invitation trainers must have successfully defeated a raid boss recently at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place – meaning that it’s completely by chance and there’s no way (that we know of yet) to predict which Gyms will spawn an Exclusive Raid Battle later. The invitations will include advance warning of when the Exclusive Raid will take place, giving trainers ample time to coordinate with other Trainers before taking on the powerful Raid Boss.

It was also confirmed in the statement that Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia will be returning to Legendary Raid from today until August 31st!

Pikachu Snapchat Filter

Along with Mewtwo, a special Pikachu snapchat filter will be available for the next 3 days! The filter gives you a pair of signature Pikachu ears, nose and red cheeks (and luckily enough also air brushed my skin and shaved off a good 10 pounds from my face) – if you open your mouth it activates Pikachu to charge in from the left side of the screen to give you an electric kiss, allowing your face to give off bolts of electricty before Pikachu returns to the bottom left of the screen. There is no additional use of the filter on the back facing camera.

Ditto & Mimikyu Distribution

Last but not least, in addition to the announced distribution of Pikachu at the Pikachu Outbreak-chu Carnival Parade in Yokohama, two other Pokémon are having a special distribution: Mimikyu and Ditto! Mimikyu is Level 10 with the moves Astonish, Copycat, Baby-Doll Eyes, and Splash, while the Ditto is holding a Light Ball.

    Pierbug (Pierogi + Bug)
    Normal/Bug
    The Food Bug pokemon
    They always steal one Pierogi dumpling and feed on it for a year. They won’t eat anything but them.

    Evolves at level 20 into

    Roginse (Pierogi + Instect)
    Normal/Bug
    The Calorie Bug pokemon
    As it needs more calories, it holds 3 special pierogi in his mouth. They need to find new ones every 3 years. There are organizations that give the pierogi to Roginse in need.

    Evolves after you give it PokePierogi (an item) 7 times into

    Thundrogi (Thunder + Pierogi)
    Electric/Bug
    The Calorie Energy Pokemon
    They hold seven Poke Pierogi in their mouths. Thundrogi use the calories from them to create lightinigs that they use in battling predators. They are partners of many chefs.

    Signature Ability:
    Extra Calories
    Giving them PokePierogi restores their HP. If their Hp is full, it Works once like the move Charge.

      A small one eyd beige larva-like Bug with small legs and pincer like beak that holds a pierogi

      A bigger version of Pierbug with diffrent proportions and black cirkle marks on its sides. It holds 3 pierogi in its beak. Its eye has a determined expression on its eye.

      A bigger version of Roginse (Around 5 feet tall), with lighting shaped anteni and legs. The cirkle Marks are now “Windows” that show the level of his orange bodily fluid. The level of the fluid depends on Thundrogi’s HP.

    A small spider Pokémon. Looks like a more realistic spider than Spinarak and Joltik, but it’s still kinda cute. Its has two big beady black eyes, and three more smaller eyes above each eye which kinda gives it the look of having dotted eyebrows. It’s abdomen is round and has a red mark resembling a spindle on top, in contrast to the rest of its body which is varying shades of brown. Its spinnerets more resemble the hand spindle than a traditional spider spinneret.

    ‘Its method of spinning thread is slower than other Pokémon, but results in far stronger webs. Spinder’s specialised spinneret is believed to of inspired the spindle.’

  24. *Sigh* With all the hate and ugly stuff going on I think I need a break from it all…..The next couple of days I wanna try and relax and be happy. I’ll still be vigilant, but I don’t need to keep piling on the stress of all this…..A few days off of all the hate filled comments and rallying will do me some good. I just can’t stand it anymore……Why are people so awful? Anyway I’m gonna try and get into some shiny hunting. I need to build back up some of my stamina to concentrate on what I’m doing while hunting. Every time I lose concentration I end up killing both Pokemon on the field or something lol

    • Aww it’s a shame you feel that way but I can totally relate! I did it a bit after Dusk Lycan reveal (although that was also in anticipation of more news because I’m going blind after the first major news) and it felt so much better coming back! Hope you have a good break ☺

            and the whole fairy part is probably because of the land spirit vibe

          • Hamster is probably just a reference to how terms like ‘fairy’, ‘pixie’, ‘sprite’ etc can be attributed to cute small things, like how Swirlix exists because fairy floss. It’s the type that have the most design freedom for probably

            We got an spiky plant ball and origami for Grass/Steel, a Knight and a meditating warrior for Psychic/Fighting, and a Hydra and a fatass for Dark/Dragon. We even got some weird mammalian hybrids for Poison/Ground. Pokémon can play fast and loose with types, they don’t have to be realistic

          • As for the spiky ball plant it’s a Durian and spikes and thorns go hand and hand and Kartana’s composition might be a plant like material with sword like qualities i mean we know nothing abut Ultra Beast Anatomy

            and Hydregion is nothing but violent and destructive same for Guzzlord it fits them fairly well

            Ultra Beasts are still Pokémon and Kartana’s body is made clear to be paper or paper like
            Chesnaught isn’t Psychic I’m on about Gallade
            Meditation doesn’t give you psychic powers irl (at least what’s been proven so far)
            Dragons don’t exist irl and being violent doesn’t automatically make you evil (Dark) irl
