Pikachu Outbreak-Chu Event: Mewtwo in GO, Snapchat Filter & More!

To tie in with the Pikachu Outbreak-chu event in Yokohama, Mewtwo has officially been released via Legendary Raid in Pokémon GO as an exclusive to the Pokémon GO Stadium event in Yokohama, Japan!

Shortly after Mewtwo’s first appearance in the stadium, Niantic released an official statement that it would be coming to players worldwide via a new mechanic called Exclusive Raid Battles. These work exactly like regular raid battles with the only difference being to participate in them you have to be invited to them. To receive an invitation trainers must have successfully defeated a raid boss recently at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place – meaning that it’s completely by chance and there’s no way (that we know of yet) to predict which Gyms will spawn an Exclusive Raid Battle later. The invitations will include advance warning of when the Exclusive Raid will take place, giving trainers ample time to coordinate with other Trainers before taking on the powerful Raid Boss.

It was also confirmed in the statement that Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia will be returning to Legendary Raid from today until August 31st!

Pikachu Snapchat Filter

Along with Mewtwo, a special Pikachu snapchat filter will be available for the next 3 days! The filter gives you a pair of signature Pikachu ears, nose and red cheeks (and luckily enough also air brushed my skin and shaved off a good 10 pounds from my face) – if you open your mouth it activates Pikachu to charge in from the left side of the screen to give you an electric kiss, allowing your face to give off bolts of electricty before Pikachu returns to the bottom left of the screen. There is no additional use of the filter on the back facing camera.

Ditto & Mimikyu Distribution

Last but not least, in addition to the announced distribution of Pikachu at the Pikachu Outbreak-chu Carnival Parade in Yokohama, two other Pokémon are having a special distribution: Mimikyu and Ditto! Mimikyu is Level 10 with the moves Astonish, Copycat, Baby-Doll Eyes, and Splash, while the Ditto is holding a Light Ball.

  4. Can we expect anything tomorrow from the opening ceremony? I mean this is the most boring August since BW2. Past years this month we discovered Mega evolutions, Alola Forms and Z-moves. It’s been two months and a half since UsUm reveal. What we know is:

    – Alternate story will take place.
    – Solgaleo and Lunala fuse with Necrozma.
    – Lycanroc has a new form.

    What we should have had:

    – Box Arts.
    – A serious trailer.
    – Something else, whatever, everything. GF, give us something to trust these games!!!!

  10. I don’t think we should expect anything in the opening ceremony, at least not something big. They don’t want to overshadow the event. Maybe in the closing ceremony though

So I have been a bit busy lately don i couldn’t mention this earlier, but I downloaded Pokemon Insurgence successfully, but when I try to open it will appear on the dock briefly and the close, does anyone have any solutions to this issue? I have been trying to use Google during my free time to figure something out but nothing has worked so far. I am using a Mac OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2 if that helps. It kind of sucks that I feel left out of the Insurgence wave right now.

    Snake Fire/Ground (like my fakemon starter)

        • The unicorn is a symbol of Scotland, not of the UK as a whole, and I doubt each starter would be based on one country in the UK because that’d leave out one of the four countries. If anything was to represent Scotland as starter, it’d probably be a creature that represented Ireland, too.

          • It could be an unofficiall starter like Pikachu or Rockruff, Ireland isn’t fully in the UK, so its pokemon wouldn’t have to fully be a starter

          • Rockruff isn’t an unofficial starter. At all. It’s a rare mon in an optional area at the end of the first island.

            Ireland is an island, and it’s split into two parts. Northern Ireland, the whole of Northern Ireland, is a part of the UK.

          • An onofficial starter is a cute pokemon resembling a starter in design, and with a simmmilar role in marketing and in anime.

          • That’s just called a marketable Pokémon. There’s no term for it. No such thing as a ‘unofficial starter’.

            And what do you mean a starter like design? Outside of being three specific types, the Base form starters have a variety of varying designs

  23. TBH from what I’ve seen Insurgence does not meet the giga lofty expectations I’ve set for it. I mean it’s easily one of the better rom hacks out there but I feel there was a bit too much hype for it. I preferred Uranium as that met literally every expectation I had. I mean certain deltas (Goomy, Wailord, and Yanma) are basically perfect to me, too much stuff is locked in the aftergame. As cool as having a battle frontier is, it just doesn’t feel as magical as a typical Pokémon game yknow? I guess I expected a little more. I still haven’t finished but I do love the game regardless. So far for completed fangames Uranium is still my favorite. I do imagine Ethereal Gates, Sage, Azurite, and Phoenix Rising will all challenge Uranium for its place but for now, I am going to play the waiting game.

      – Pick up new hobbies
      – Put more effort into sleep (altho I believe you have said you have legit sleeping issues, so this might not work)
      – Preoccupy yourself with literally anything else
