Pikachu Outbreak-Chu Event: Mewtwo in GO, Snapchat Filter & More!

To tie in with the Pikachu Outbreak-chu event in Yokohama, Mewtwo has officially been released via Legendary Raid in Pokémon GO as an exclusive to the Pokémon GO Stadium event in Yokohama, Japan!

Mewtwo in Pokemon GO

Shortly after Mewtwo’s first appearance in the stadium, Niantic released an official statement that it would be coming to players worldwide via a new mechanic called Exclusive Raid Battles. These work exactly like regular raid battles with the only difference being to participate in them you have to be invited to them. To receive an invitation trainers must have successfully defeated a raid boss recently at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place – meaning that it’s completely by chance and there’s no way (that we know of yet) to predict which Gyms will spawn an Exclusive Raid Battle later. The invitations will include advance warning of when the Exclusive Raid will take place, giving trainers ample time to coordinate with other Trainers before taking on the powerful Raid Boss.

It was also confirmed in the statement that Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia will be returning to Legendary Raid from today until August 31st!

Pikachu Snapchat Filter

Along with Mewtwo, a special Pikachu snapchat filter will be available for the next 3 days! The filter gives you a pair of signature Pikachu ears, nose and red cheeks (and luckily enough also air brushed my skin and shaved off a good 10 pounds from my face) – if you open your mouth it activates Pikachu to charge in from the left side of the screen to give you an electric kiss, allowing your face to give off bolts of electricty before Pikachu returns to the bottom left of the screen. There is no additional use of the filter on the back facing camera.

Check it out below:

Ditto & Mimikyu Distribution

Last but not least, in addition to the announced distribution of Pikachu at the Pikachu Outbreak-chu Carnival Parade in Yokohama, two other Pokémon are having a special distribution: Mimikyu and Ditto! Mimikyu is Level 10 with the moves Astonish, Copycat, Baby-Doll Eyes, and Splash, while the Ditto is holding a Light Ball.

  1. Concept: a slimey humanoid jellyfish Pokémon that evolves via surroundings. It’s body is bubbly and it can absorb shit into it that lets it evolve. If it evolves in a forest for example, it would gain an almost swamp water appearance

  2. Yet another concept: A mostly clear axolotl filled with lava that changes color based on various circumstances. The color dictates what it will evolve into. When it is threatened, it will stand still and violently expel lava from its frill/whisker thingies

  3. Do these names sound okay? They’re evolutions of Metem, the Eevee Clone in Amethyst & Citrine, as well as another evolution of a more familiar face

Their names all begin with ‘Nan-‘, as in ‘Nanosecond’ to contrast with the Eeveelutions’ ‘-eon’, which refers to a long period of time due to their evolution theme. However, Metem and it’s evolutions were created quickly all at once. They’re also all puns and/or portmanteaus that connect at the ‘-an-‘ part.

The Ground-type Nangaea (from Pangaea, the supercontinent), Steel-type Nanadium (from the metal element vanadium), Rock-type Nanzanite (from tanzanite, a gemstone), Ghost-type Nanubis (from Anubis, Egyptian God of the dead), Flying-type Nanemoi (from the anemoi, the Greek Gods of the wind), the Fighting-type Nanjutsu (from ninjutsu), the Bug-type Nantenna (from antenna), and the Normal-type Nanon (from ‘canon’, meaning a holy rule. Also from ‘non-‘ as in ‘non-elemental’ or ‘non-typed’)

      • Ninjas are still usually martial artists of sorts, and we’ve never really had a ‘rule’ for what Pokémon type totally covers ninjas. Like magic and shit is covered by at least three different types

          • You know how Eevee is a bit more canine with traits of felines, rabbits, just general mammals? Well, Metem is more of a cat with dog like traits as well as some rodent traits. It’s mostly white, but has big baby blue eyes – it’s designed to be as cute as possible by Prisma. Biggest distinction between Eevee and Metem is that Metem has rounded, smaller ears and a straight, less busy tail

However, similar to Eevee, which has some canine like evolutions, some feline like evolutions, and some blends, Metem had the same. For example, Nanubis draws traits from jackals, yet Nanemoi has a much sleeker cat like design.

    • An art gallery and a studio are probably going to be too close, especially when Illima hasn’t shown an interest in art at all. And Rest is a Psychic move.

Komala’s stats are far too high for Melemele, and unless it’s changed in USUM it’s not in the Melemele Dex. Trainers in SuMo only use Pokémon in the Island Dexes of their island and the ones before it, with special exceptions like the plot relevant Type: Null (is only in the overall Alola Dex) and the Nugget Bridge trainers (who use Pokémon not even in the Dex).

That’s far too easy for Gym 2, especially since at that point you would’ve bet Totem Wishiwashi if you really need a Z-Crystal to enter. Her Araquanid at least would probably be evolved, as it evolves super early, and they’d probably just use her team from her fight in SuMo but levelled down a bit tbh

Kiawe’s and Mallow’s teams are the most boring ideas possible, especially when Alola has so much options available. Heck, their teams in SuMo are better and those aren’t meant to be hard battles.

Sophocles’ is slightly better, but he’d probably have Vikavolt, or Charjabug would be his opening act.

Why. Would. Gym. Six. Give. You. A. TM. For. A. 30. Power. Move.

Acerola’s team looks slightly better and actually like a more realistic GL.

Hau’s story arc is so obviously him going to be a Kahuna, not a Gym Leader. And if USUM by some miracle is a sequel, Hau will probably take over for Hala due to his E4 challenge. The team is the uber typical Alola Psychic team but eh it works

If Hapu (who’s pretty much Gyms 7 and 8 in SuMo) is any indication, the last Gym Leaders would use more than three Pokémon. Mina’s team here looks pretty easy. Also, Comfey would be a terrible totem, Comfey is a support Pokémon.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to get the Z-Crystals from Gym Leaders instead of just wasting your time with a trial of the exact same type?

      • Trials wouldn’yt exist it’d be the totem battle alone. Thanks for the critcism, maybe I’ll be able to make more realistiic prediction in the future

  5. If there’s gyms in USUM and Guzma isn’t the Bug Leader of Hau’oli City I’ll be mildly annoyed

Like it’s such a good resolution for his arc

    Reply
  6. Omg what if the post-game in USUM is you recruiting Gym Leaders? Like you have Guzma’s little post-game redemption in SuMo, but you have little scenarios for each GL? And then, you beat the eight gyms and you challenge the Elite Four again, but unlike SuMo they’ll have full teams of six rather than just a level and moveset upgrade

  7. The ultra beast buff

A noticeable difference between Ultra Beast sightings in Incrum when compared to Alola is that Alolan Ultra Beasts did not seem to express their abilities to the fullest. When brought to special areas in Incrum, Ultra Beasts first seen in both Alola gain a new form with a new ability to go along with them that is more representative of their character. Incrumian Ultra beasts have already adapted to this but their activity is still noted to be much higher in these areas.

So certain UBs (Guzzlord) will become much better
