Lycanroc Hinted to be Getting New Form(s)

The anime recently ended its weekly airing in Japan and teased the potential evolution of Ash’s Rockruff. There are several things that point towards a new form, or forms, for its evolution Lycanroc. Here’s what we’ve found:

CLUE 1: Evolution takes place at dusk

Based on the latest anime preview, it seems that Rockruff is beginning to evolve at neither day or night, but at dusk. This is played up as the sun straddles the horizon and Rockruff looks into the light as a strange green energy seems to illuminate its eyes. CLUE 2: Mystery products still unrevealed

We’ve posted about mysterious product listings before and there is also a new anime-related plush set to be announced on August 10… the same day next week’s episode will air.

CLUE 3: Pokémon Global Link placeholder image

Another mysterious piece of the puzzle comes from an image off the Pokémon Global Link website which lists Lycanroc as having not 2, but 4 forms. Could there be dawn and dusk forms coming as well? It seems to make sense based off of what the anime is showing us.

  4. Theyre about to ban Magearna from Monotype. Its not fair. Its such a good mon! Anything paired with fairy makes it better. Magearna is such a cool mon. We need more Alola forms to have part fairy

  18. @spectralseraph:disqus you know stuff about competitive, I want to use a Shiny Lurantis in a playthrough and have it useable after, I know it isn’t a great ‘mon competitively but do you know a good set? Also for Ribombee do you know if HP Fire or Ground is better?

    • Literally do not use it at all, Sunflora is basically better..
      No but seriously Contrary Leaf Storm is the only thing it does right now. You run that , a Hidden power, and the rest of the set is up to you.
      Though I imagine it being interesting as a low tier defogger

      For Ribomb it all depends on the type of steels your fighting. Ground in most cases unless you’re fighting Skarmories or something

    • What is exciting is that it’s something to speculate about. And if it really is something than the drought is over, and the flood gates are going to be opened.

          • no i get it but like, do you want an entire content dump like last time? whats the point. we have confirmation that usum are real games. we have that short trailer with the necrozma lunala and solgaleo. isnt that enough to speculate with?

          • we also have the fact that gold and silver are coming to 3ds. similar to what was done with red blue and yellow. this is enough to speculate alolan johto pokemon

          • Well I don’t personally mind. I am busy enough as is. But there are some people on this forum who are complaining about how they revealed absolutely nothing. This is the probably the most we have talked about these games since the reveal trailer. Not including the times when some of us were complaining about the poor marketing strategy of Pokémon An example is, “why haven’t they revealed anything about these games” or “I am losing hope and this game may just be a reskin of SM”. For those who make comments like these any sort of news release is fantastic and the promise of more is better. Albeit, going from Pokemon’s marketing strategy they are probably going to do an info dump (which is why I used the phrase flood gates). It’s not that it’s something I want and I do prefer that there is an air of mystery for the game. However, with the pre-release of XY, ORAS, and SM I do not have any other expectations beside what I said before. Flood Gates. So I am just trying to get in a good mood for leak season.

I get it. even tho im not crazy hyped for usum. i would like news too but its not something to just go crazy about. youre perfectly allowed to be excited for the games. but like if you compare to other games only 1 year between in not too much of a drought imo

          • ok and so has the 2 second opening screens of oras. and idk. “what we can expect” to me sounds like more story based info rather than new pokemon itself.

Im just saying that we arent too far away from the games and for a lot of people it comes down to “its pokemon, of course im buying” and for plenty of others its “lets get on to switch already” you have been here for a while so you should know fully well that any info is never enough, whether referring to Pokejungle community, or pokemon community as a whole

    • like i get the concept of lycanroc, it fits the games. but i personally dont think they did the evolution right. why make it version exclusive? it shouldve been solely based on time. not time of the day and version.

      • I just…….I don’t think I like Dobbs……It’s not like he’s crazy annoying or has a bad personality per se, but there’s just something about him that I don’t like. Like most of the shit in this video is stuff HE was wrong about and for some reason thinks everyone else was too. I’ve always known Golduck was just water…….It SHOULD be Water/Psychic, but it’s not like people are that dumb. Also the Jigglypuff part is just dumb too. It’s just animation inconsistencies not some magical hint at shiny Pokemon. Also how that a remembering thing? When Jigglypuff was introduced shinies weren’t even a thing. Whether it was a hint or not has nothing to do with you “remembering” it’s miscolored body and eyes……I get the feeling Dobbs likes to think he’s smart, but in reality doesn’t realize he says really dumb stuff sometimes………Sorry didn’t mean to be a bummer hahahah
