Pokémon GO Easter Event Announced

The rumors are true, Pokémon GO will be hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza Event!

From 1:00pm PST today until 1:00pm PST on April 20th, trainers will be able to take advantage of the following benefits:

  • Double EXP
  • Greater variety of Pokémon hatching from 2km eggs
  • Increased candy quanity for egg hatchs
  • 50% off on Lucky Eggs in the in-game shop

No word yet if the new Pokémon added to the 2km egg group will be brought down from the 5km and 10km groups, or if they’re simply Pokémon that usually cannot be hatched from eggs at all. For the official press release you can visit Niantic’s official blog!

    • Don’t think so tbh, iirc the old legends that showed up in the Hoopa movie were distributed or something along those lines?

      The legendary beasts were also distributed for the zoroark movie with new moves

      • Well yeah I’m not saying 100% that it’ll get a form. It likely won’t, but to be fair it’s kind of a different situation compared to the cases you pointed out. In the hoops movie the legendary Pokemon weren’t the main focal point. They could have been swapped out for anything. As for the legendary beasts, the thing that made them special was that they were shiny. Plus they still got an event in BW anyway. Again not saying Ho-oh WILL get a form, just saying it could happen lol

    I’ve got
    Normal/Ghost Opossum
    Ground/Fighting Pig wrestler (which I decided to make this species 100% Male)
    Poison/Psychic Psychedelic Gecko
    Fairy/Poison Aristocratic beauty
    Rock/Electric Stegosaurus
    Grass/Electric Anemone

    So far I lack Normal/Steel and Rock/Ghost unless I deside to change my Rock/Flying Gargoyle Grimgoyle into a Ghost type but I dunno

    And I really don’t want to make the cliche normal porcupine with steel quills

            It’s not convincing because it’s Sugomori style, you can replicate that.

            It’s the similarity in lay out to pay art

          • Your aura is just an arbitrary thing though, just say you think it’s believable rather than bring in some superstition or hunch

          • Well I see tons of fakemons a day and most of the time they just don’t have that glow to them, and sometimes you just have gut feelings I plan on analyzing it for details

          • There are believable fakes out there though, and if GameFreak’s various artists and designers, and the tons of people who work on the anime can replicate Sugomori style, then others can too.

            I just feel it on this sluggy

          • But it just goes to show that people can replicate an art style. There is no ‘aura’, it’s just a believable leak that has us doubting whether it’s real or fake.

          • On second thought, it does look like it doesn’t have legs, so it could be a slug? Shame the art couldn’t be higher quality like the starter leaks XD

            It’s sitting on a leaf and has tiny nub arms and long antenna with what appears to be leaves

            So it’s gotta be a Slug of some kind
            And the proof goes further with the whole banana theme

          • One thing that makes me skeptical is that the pikachu is a direct copy of the SSB4 art and the Popplio is a direct copy of the official art. It’s not anything groundbreaking, but if it was done by a Pokemon artist I wouldn’t expect exact copies of other art, from two different games no less.

          • Tbf it does appear to be anime art, and it could just be they looked up the art to create the scale chart by copying the art rather than freestyling? Not the most unbelievable thing, although it could be a weakness in an other wise well made fake

          • Naaah, that’s way too short. Starters were up for like half a year before game for announced them, before that we got gradual confirmation and hints

            (Popplio’s fairy moves, then how obvious Torracat and Brionne made it, then the demo leak, then official reveal almost half a year later)

          • It’s not meant to be revealed if it’s real, you’re just going to have to wait. For all we know it’s from next year’s anime and its a super early leak and we won’t see it in game either because it could be an early Gen 8 appearance or something.

            Wait for contradictions, not for an arbitrary amount of time to pass.

          • But why is Pikachu and Poplio in the same paper for size comparison? Both are the same size so there’s no need to include both to compare the size of the banana.

            Or there is?

          • Pika’s ears make it slightly taller than Popplio, and they could be including multiple Pokemon to just give the idea of its size range? Could be another hint at it being false tho

  18. I think I’m gonna start moving toward finishing BotW. As much as I want to keep exploring and doing a bunch of dumb random stuff, my play time has been slowing recently and it’s clear that after over a month the fun I’m having is starting to slow.

          • I want the regular versions of the 3 smash amiibo and that’s it for now. All the other ones they revealed were just alternate ones of characters we already have, which is cool, but I’m short on money and I don’t need 3 more blond guys in green tunics.

  24. My entire analysis ruid by a reload
    Anyway I had a whole thing completely ruined so broad strokes

    First form
    -invertebrate body
    -leaf shaped stomach pattern and antenna
    -roughly a foot tal maybe 1.2
    -and nub like arms

    Second form
    -large pouch of skin resembling a banana’s skin
    -head can freely move
    -curly antenna on the skin’s too
    -capable of pulling a flap of skin to hide its face

    So possibly a grass/bug or bug/grass based not only on the banana slug but also banana leafs since the first form seems to have the similar biology

    • Normal/Fire normal because it’s a llama and fire because “Llama” literally means fire in Spanish.

      I know that making a typing based on names is a bad idea but a fire type Llama sounds interesting to me for some reason :^)

  69. So I just got back from seeing Your name. The closest theater showing it was about a two hour drive from me. And well, if you haven’t seen it, please do. It is now my favorite movie ever. Its a master piece. I’m still trying to process my emotions with it. Like I feel like I”m going to break down in tears and need a hug on one hand, and want to keep on smiling and cheer on the other. Its perfect.

  70. I know that I get on to people for saying it, but I think it’s justified in this case.

    Why is Unown in the game? It doesn’t evolve into anything better, is probably the only Pokemon that can’t evolve that is unusable in the game (other Pokemon just have varying levels of difficulty in game but are all able to be used on a normal playthrough, and unlike legendaries and other special Pokemon which can affect least be used versus friends, in lore, and as promotion it can’t really be used effectively anywhere in game

    Really hope they throw the things a bone :/

    • I like almost all the concepts, but IMO the names could use a little work 😡

      Like Clark and Dulce are honestly amazing names because they are sweet, simple, and roll off the tongue. They’re also more nuanced. Like I know we literally have a rock leader called Brock, but his name does roll off the tongue better and is an actual name irl

        • It’s not the slavic names that are the issue (Svar and Drakoslav are pretty rad names), it’s mostly Winda and Typica that kinda rub me the wrong way tbh, they just seem… Off to me, they lack nuance and I just think having two with the same name scheme (type thing + – a) is a bit off

    • Pokemon Go owes its interest to being vastly more accessible (it’s free to play with very simple mechanics, even by Pokemon standards) whereas mainstream Pokemon has the price barrier of both the console and the game itself. It’d be nice to have as much attention tbh, but Pokemon already has one of the biggest if not the biggest active gaming fandoms out there

    • NICE!! Ugh…I’m ashamed to say I’m burned out on shiny hunting. I did it all the time back in gen 6, but since SOS chaining is the only non breeding kind of hunting now I’ve since become bored. Maybe I just need a break. I have so many of them already lol Maybe once the next game comes out I’ll be recharged enough to get back into the game. I really like many of the gen 7 shiny Pokemon so they’re definitely on the docket first.

      • Tbh Im kinda like this too. Like I am happy I hatched this, but like back in gen 6 when I hatched a shiny I would be hyped for hours. Now, Im just like “cool” then I go back to normal. I probably need to take a break too

        • Yeah……It’s ot like I don’t enjoy finding shinies, but I just can’t find the energy to spend hours hunting anymore. I wish SM had a more mindless version of hunting like how gen 6 had horde hunting. Having so many options was what kept it fresh. Being able to go from horde hunting to chain fishing to dex nav was what made it fun. I had so many options. Now it’s either bring old breeding or tedious SOS. Hopefully either the next game or the one after that rings a new mechanic to the table to make it fun again lol

      • no I got obliterated. I haven’t killed any divine beasts yet. I’m just trying to get to the castle for a divine memory but clearly it won’t work lol. I think I I’m just goona take a long journey back to the stables so I can register my new horse and find a different place

        • That’s actually one of two memories I haven’t found in my 105+ hours. I’m not entering the castle till I’ve tied up all the loose ends in the world I want to. Mainly because I tried to enter but it initiated a cutscene, and I don’t want to begin that until the end.

          • Just to say, while a cutscene does start the first time you approach that place, nothing happens unless you go to the area marked on the map as your final destination. You can explore everything before going there, find the memory, some good items and even a certain secret if your willing to risk it.

          • It’s time based. I think it’s around 12:00 AM (in game). You can make a fire and sleep until night to speed up the process a bit.

    • There’s a chronological order, yes. It goes by the photos, but the divine beast memories are also scattered in there too. I finished all of the divine beasts and then went back and found the memories in order.

      But TBH most of the memories are just character development for Zelda, not as much of an actual story. But there are a few.

    Warrior to be a complete lumbering brute wielding a massive club smashing all the punnies or a Monk and clobbing foes while hopped up on booze and use their natural bulk and thickness to shrug off pain
    and if i were to name it i would choose……Thunk or Grunk but i doubt any of those lasted over the year then my last choice would be Guttocks

    So I’m trying to make a Fire/Flying Peachick and Peacock but trying to find a name that incorporates Peacocks but also a scorching inferno that’s not only destructive but beautiful

    So far it’s Peaphe and that’s it, maybe something like Paonthrall but that’s dumb

    • Have you looked into different names for the Peacock, like its Latin name or names in other language? That’s what I’m doing for my chickpea peachick

        • Keep in mind the name doesn’t *have* to include Peacock in anyway as long as it still describes the Pokemon. For example, Talonflame doesn’t have ‘peregrine falcon’ conveyed in its name (tbh it sounds like any bird of prey with fire) or even a robin theme referencing its prevos, yet its still a suitable name for it.

  102. Lit just finished my Chickpea Peachick and its evo name, honestly naming Fakemon can be instant or take like five years

    Stage 1: Chickpeep (Chickpea + Peep)
    Stage 2: Bonzowl (Garbonzo + Fowl)

    Garbonzo is another name for chickpea, what most people just call peacocks are known as peafowl (cocks are male, hens are female)

          • Nope. The tail feathers are made for gathering psychic energy, which they then use for their telekinetic abilities in order to keep themselves clean or to deter predators (as they’re terrible fliers)

            Unsurprisingly mine are extremely vain and haughty spending their moments preening their prized silvery red feathers, they can set their wings and tail on fire and shower the opponent in a sea of embers, this process is not only horrifyingly powerful but visually beautiful

          • So is it partially phoenix based? That actually sounds like an amazing concept. Speaking of, what about Paonix as a name, even just as a placeholder until you find something better?

          • Well yes but I didn’t want it to be entirely Pheonix based, I wanted a peacock that was either a Normal/Flying with a harp tail but I decided on the whole beauty of the flame concept

            More of a peacock with the benefits of a Pheonix

            I do like Paonix but I was thinking a long extravagant name as a homage to their grandiose nature

    Cullahan is a Pokemon said to be a bringer of death. It was believed that Cullahan were few, yet able to travel across the land in an instant, but they are in fact an uncommon but numerous species, and the death it brought was a disease it transmitted to humans when they entered its domain or they scared it off from its habitat. They’re actually shy and rational, and since humans created a vaccine for their disease they’ve become an illusive ally rather than an omnipresent omen.

    #101-Tenebreigh (Tenebris + Neigh)
    Type: Dark
    Basis: Dullahan’s Horse, a literal ‘dark horse’, Shetland Ponies
    Ability: Dark Mount

    Tenebreigh are some of the last remaining ‘wild horse’ Pokemon – meaning humans had no influence on its development. They’ve created a symbiotic relationship with Cullahan, allowing the fairies to ride them and in turn gain protection.     • Probably not given its really not that bad. Most late game weapons last for multiple fights easily and generally once you get along the game you realize you really shouldn’t fight that often. The rewards for doing so usually aren’t that good.

            Prim, considering its place in the meta, is staying in UU unless next gen is all Poison types
            I’m slightly worried Deci will drop to RU, but it’s role doesn’t exactly seem like it can be replicated by other mons so I doubt it will drop

          • The thing is though, it doesn’t matter of the role can’t be replicated if the role becomes uneccesary

            And its only going to take one or two good grass or Poison physical attackers (bulky or sweepers) before Primarina sinks because of how slow and physically trail it is

            Additionally, chances are that Deci will be getting a certain Move Tutor move that will give it a lot more viability
            And its role won’t become unnecessary, physical ghost damage is quite important

            Those of course are a huge issue for Deci, but they aren’t crippling. I know knock off is common but I don’t think it’s impossible to get around. As someone who frequently uses Deci, it and a Fighting type make an amazing combo and you rarely should find yourself in a situation where you will be fighting a dark type with Deci if you are careful enough

          • Deci is one of those mons who only should come in once certain mons are dead. Once those mons are dead, it puts in a lot of work

            Scrafty has knock off, higher defenses, isn’t weak to water, ground, or stealth rock.
            It may have access to snarl, but so does Arcanine
            It has fake out, but will it really be that helpful compared to other mons who have it?
            I GUESS u-turn is a strong point but I don’t really see any use for running it
            And it has zero forms of recovery where Scrafty has at least drain punch and Arcanine has Morning Sun
            And additionally for intimidaters, Gyarados exists too

          • Leech Life, which can’t be taunted and offers some form of recovery

            Slow U-Turn, as part of a hit and run stat drop (such as switching something in safely or predicting a switch you just forced) or Volt-Turn

            Slightly higher bulk and offense than Arcanine

            Better HP than Scrafty (a whole thirty points) meaning they’re actually closer in bulk than you think, as well as being slightly faster if we’re being pedantic

            Can actually realistically run Vest unlike the other two meaning it becomes bulkier with Vestimidate

            Has a great offensive type combo

            Has a Z-Move to break walls

            STAB Knock Off is a possibility, unlike Arcanine

            Scrafty has other abilities it might want to run (*cough moxie cough*)

            Fake Out can break sashes, always handy

            Counters any ghost slower than it that can’t run Focus Miss because they don’t usually have Water, Rock or Ground moves

            No quadruple weaknesses unlike Scrafty

            True, intimidate may not help much at all, but ignoring these is idiotic if you’re just going to scream about how useless incineroar is

          • I’m not saying it’s useless, I’m just saying I see no reason to run it compared to other ints
            Wait what ghosts besides Doublade, Palo, and Garbage anchor have lower than base 60?
            Leech life is resisted by a LOT of mons who are prevalent in the doubles meta rn (Cause lets be honest, that’s where it would be best)
            And I did mention U-turn
            And it may not even get knock off, you never know

          • If you actually took two seconds to read, I said that it’d either tank or outspeed ghosts. That still makes it handy for when anchor, Palo and Doub show up, as well as tanking ghosts that can’t do anything to it (read: Deci, Dusclops and its Evo, Cofagrigus, Meganette etc, just a bunch of Pokemon thoroughout different tiers)

            Also, slow U-Turn. You didn’t mention the advantage of that at all, it’s extremely helpful for pivoting because as long as incineroar lives, you’re getting a team mate in as safe as possible

            I’m taking about the meta in general, where Leech Life immediately becomes more useful. Not just one tier or format, because for all we know incineroar might drop and then rely on intimidate.

            Riiight, unless Knock Off isn’t a tutor at all it’s laughable you’d even suggest it isn’t getting Knock Off.

          • Owls are fast fliers, and Decidueye can’t use the move fly or have the flying type. For all we know that speed is exclusive to its Z-Move (I mean Snorlax becomes an Olympic sprinter in the base normal Z-Move soooo)

            It’s not just simple enough to say ‘owls are spiritual’, you have to display this spirituality in some way, whether it’s through making Deci look somewhat spiritualistic/ancient, giving it a more appropriate colour scheme (or even just a colour scheme closer to the owls the Hawaiians saw as spiritual), or just outright making it look more imposing/intimidating..

            I like the design, but it looks Grass/Flying, Grass/Dark, or even Grass/Ground over Ghost IMO

  144. Everybody loves Final stage pokemon they are so awesome and tough. And just look straight up cool. Most of everyone favorite pokemon is a final stage.
    The basic stage pokemon are the cute ones that everyone enjoys. It’s the part of the stage that adores most people.
    But what’s forget is mid-stage pokemon. They are like the teenage years of pokemon. Some pokemon stats are bad because they are adjusting (vibrava) and some just look very weird. So Im gonna ask what’s everyone top 5 or 10 midstage pokemon
    Personally my lists consists of pokemon in which I perfer midstage over other stages.

    10. Kadabra– I think Kadabra is really cool looking despite it’s controversy ( I still have Kadabra pokemon card :P), especially it’s big fluffy tail is just so cute on it. I remember using Kadabra in my Red not knowing how to evolve it.

    9. Haunter– Haunter is just so funny, and every time I see it I just want to laugh. It’s smile is also pretty cute. And I love how it just has floating hands.

    8. Ivysaur – I think this pokemon looks cuter than bulbasaur, but not fat and ugly like venusaur. The semi-bloomed bud fits it so well, also I loved it’s appearance in smash.

    7. Dewott– It still very cute from oshawott, and it has two shell swords like samurott. Basically the best of both worlds

    6. Rhydon– I know certain people think it’s stupid to perfer this but whatever. It’s a cool mon, and it has such a cool design to me. I have a pokemon card of it, so I have some bias towards it, and having seen Rhydon+Eviolite makes me appreciate it more.

    5. Dragonair– Elegant, cute, and has those little orbs, and mini rings. This pokemon is just precious. I also have a pokemon card of it that makes it look so cool.

    4. Vigoroth-This feisty attitude, and the polar opposite to it’s other evolutions just makes it so awesome. I remember when I was a kid playing Emerald I refused to evolve my Vigoroth.

    3. Wartortle-The ear wings, and the fluffy tail is just so cute, and those teeth stick out makes it even better. Blastoise literally got rid of all these qualities.

    2. Shelgon-Am I weird when I think Shelgon is better than Salamence?

    Baby Bird from Bravely Default, mostly because I had this OP combo where I’d have Edea use her special Withering Wave (which this triggers music) which I specialised to lower fire resistance and Magical Defense (more than it already did), before having her summon Promethean Fire (the game’s fire summon, if not obvious) multiple times, which would just get stronger and stronger due to her support abilities, Summoning Surge (every summon is stronger than the last) and Summon Amp (summons are stronger but cost slightly more magic). By the second onslaught of Promethean Fire, she was dealing max damage in no time!

    I should probably recreate this in the second game with a Summoner/Wizard fusion character, Promethean Fire Rain for days boys

  156. I’ve been playing Zelda for 4 hours straight… wow.

    I did a lot in those four hours, I had a Beach Adventure and found a girl in love with the orb thing so…there’s that.

    I started towards finding Robbie and on the way found he citadel which made me love my Sheikah Armor even more for the stealth. I captured the tower and got a couple rad weapons.

    Then I found another Great Fairy but I was only able to upgrade my mask. I need more fireflies for the other prices 😛 I really like the Great Fairy fountains though. So pretty.

    So now I found this swirly place where I need to carry an orb to the center and of course it starts raining. And OF COURSE I only have metal bows so I got struck my lightning and had to start over so I’m going to finish that tomorrow.

    I love this game so much. It is what an open world game should be.

      • If you managed to get your horse to a stable at any point, you can always summon it from any stable. Just something to say if you didn’t know. I pretty much had one horse through the entire game and abandoned it for like 20 hours until I found out that I could summon it from a stable by accident.

    • Mmm, hard to say tbh. Remakes and third version/sequels iirc have had shorter release cycles so it being announced now or next month and still being released this year would be be hugely shocking to me, but at the same time a free year also wouldn’t surprise me. We just came off a free year, and it’s odd that they’d put Marshadow out already in a free year since it’ll leave the next game without a mythical, unless the Gen 7.5 theory is real (when imo it’ll probably end up like Gen 6.5)

    • They announced ORAS in May so I wouldn’t be too sure. Most secondary games (i.e. BW2, ORAS) don’t need the same amount of months to advertise. If a game comes out this year it’ll likely follow the same path the last few games have and be out in November. So I’d say if May comes and goes only then can we say that it’s unlikely a game will come out.

  176. I think I’m ready to say that BotW is a masterpiece. One of the best games ever made. For all of its very minor flaws, it’s still probably even better than OoT. It does everything just right. I don’t remember the last time I could hardly focus in school because I was thinking about playing a game. It’s so exciting.

    I just want to talk about this game forever because it is so amazing. The graphics are beautiful, the music sets the tone perfectly, the story is great (both the main quest and the stories you make just walking around) the combat is varied and the world… omg the world.. I’ve been playing for a week and I’m still finding new things. It’s crazy

One stagers no longer exist even if they had Megas, two stagers become one stagers, three stagers become two stagers, and if the Pokemon’s final evo (whether it’s a two stager or a three stager) had a Mega Evolution, its Mega is lost and the final evo becomes the Mega (Megazards disappear but Charizard is now just Mega Charmeleon)

  188. I’m proud to say that I have finished Breath of the Wild (to some extent), with all 120 Shrines and memories. It felt amazing to beat the game with the Master Sword and Link’s original green tunic, and honestly I cried a little at the end. This is Nintendo’s magnum opus, and it’s what we’ve all been dreaming of since we were children. I’m happy I was alive to play it when it first released. Yes, I am crying a little bit.

    • I’m definitely expecting an early May announcement, but I’m just concerned that it will only be for 3DS. I don’t even have a reason to doubt that anymore. I really don’t see myself devoting lots of time to the 3DS anymore, so it would be a bit disappointing if it didn’t come to the Switch.

    • Honestly I think there will be a game this year. More often than not there’s a game every year. Plus we always get a game the year after a new generation drops. Well, except with D/P. But with Black and White we got a full on sequel the following year. A game for this year is definitely still on the table, imo. Be it a sequel or a remake.

(similar to how the orbs in RS got changed in ORAS to make Groudon/Kyogre to Primal revert). Like they seem to be playing up the Rainbow wing’s existence in this movie. I can’t seem to find a reason for that other than it either being in it’s boring old roll of calling Ho-oh and it having something to do with a form change for Ho-oh.         • Not so sure bout that. Otherwise the time for revisiting Ash’s origin story would have also passed. If they wanted to do a contained anniversary story they should have done it last year when it was actually the 20th anniversary. Also even if they were gonna do it this year( which they obviously are lol) why make Ho-oh so integral to the story. They could have easily made something else up hand just show Ho-0h in the same kind of way they did originally. It just seems suspect to me. Again not saying it’s 100% gonna happen. Just saying it seems like an odd thing.

  193. The more I think about it the more I keep coming to the conclusion that we’re missing something huge about the new movie. To me it seems unlikely that Marshadow is the only thing new in it to show off. Sure Marshadow is a (relatively) new Pokemon to market, but I can’t see it being worthy of being the star (I know what I did there lol) attraction of the movie. Usually we get a mythical Pokemon to buddy up to Ash and then there’s a bigger reveal for the enemy/hero toward the end. Look at the past movies. In the BW movies you had Victini buddy up with Ash, bt the box legends were the drawing attraction. In the Keldeo movie you had Keldeo buddy with him and then both Keldeo AND Kyurem both got new forms to show off. In The Giratina and Shaymin movie, once again the mythical got buddy buddy with Ash and then both it and Giratina got new forms. Seeing as we don’t have any other Legends that would make sense to tie in with this movie it seems obvious that Ho-oh would be the one to show case something brand new. I can’t see any of the Tapus getting a movie as they’re being covered in the show and the box legends will likely get their own movie to showcase them by themselves with some other minor stuff on the side. Necrozma I could there being a movie with the UBs. So who else would they tack onto this to draw crowds? There’s always a surprise reveal that they hold out on until almost the release of the movie. Just food for thought I suppose lol

    • I’m not sure you can do it with a sword, but using a shield definitely works. And I think it needs to be able to take a hit otherwise it’ll break before it deflects the beam. It might break and deflect though, I’m not sure.

      • If you succesfully parry, the shield won’t suffer any damage. You can do it with the worst shield in the game if you get the timing right

    • Shield parry. ZL and A with good timing. It takes some practice to get it down right, but my best advice is hold ZL so you are targeting the Guardian, and then as soon as you hear the shot fire, press A. Decayed Guardians die in one hit, walking Guardians take a minimum of 3.

    • There’s something about the professionally drawn lines and similarities to previous anime production art which makes me believe it could be real. Either the creator was very meticulous with their copying of that design, or it’s completely real. Sounds like something I said about a certain trio of starter evolutions…

    • Honestly, my bet for one of the next big mechanics is Pokémon fusions. It’s the only thing missing in the Pokémon forms department. I know we already have the Kyurem forms, but they are more like absorptions and Kyurem is still the base pokémon. I’m talking about an equal mix of two Pokémon (think DNA Digivolution from Digimon).

  272. So, I just hatched a shiny Grubbin while trying to breed a near-flawless one with HP Ice. Since I have a few pokémon that I rather have as a shiny more than Grubbin, I thought about just doing a shiny swap. The one I wanted the most was female Salandit. However, after swaping, the egg turned out to be male due to Salandit’s annoying gender ration. I saved an image guide about shiny swiping which explains how to fix that for gender-fixed. I tried that for Salandit, it didn’t work. Is it because even though Salandit doesn’t have a 50-50 ratio, it’s still a non-gender-fixed mon?

      -(not really a weakness but a factor) all of my powers must be from existing sources and i doubt people would be too thrilled with me uprooting larges chunks of land from their property, and a urban city may leave me without ammo
      -lastly my greater attacks are extremely dangerous and could not be stopped on a whim AKA tremors and lava flows, a single quake could set off a chain reaction that could level everything and i could be powerless to stop it

      For my light manipulation ability, the setback is the power can go so long without access to a light source. So if I was in a cave or a enclosed area lacking light, the power would slowly deplete, and it would be necessary for me to “refill” my power.

  283. Hey so I found out something else interesting about Necrozma.

    So apparently at level 1, it can learn Metal Claw and Confusion, which, when looking at Solgaleo and Lunala’s movesets, Solgaleo learns Metal Claw at level 1 while Lunala learns Confusion at the same level.

    Ontop of that, at level 73, Solgaleo and Lunala learn powerful recharge moves, Giga Impact and Hyper Beam respectively. Who else learns a recharge move? Necrozma, at that same level with Prismatic Laser, which has 10 BP more in Power.

    I guess this is a fun fact of the day :p

      • Ehhh I guess it could work, based on a shooting star (which aren’t really stars) explaining the star on it

        But at the same time the Pluto theory forms a really cool meta joke. Pluto isn’t considered a planet, and Necrozma may or may not be an Ultra Beast. Also, Necrozma is made of crystals (Pluto in Roman mythology is the God of the earth’s riches) and its name contains Necro, and Pluto (or at least, his Greek counterpart, Hades) is the God of the Afterlife

  307. So I have an idea. Using only 600 stats, make a Pokemon that fits you as a person (like your favorite types, favorite stat distribution, fav/ made up ability, and 5 moves that it can learn out of its moveset). You can give it a name if you desire.

  314. Anyone else thinks that flying type is underrated? I know there’s a lot of secondary flying types, but there’s only one true pure flying type and one primary flying type evolutionary family (and It’s not even a 3 stager)

            They effect the mind, but that’s purely the Poison’s effect. Nihilego doesn’t have any refined psychic control over the host, the neurotoxin works and reacts with the brain to bring about the changes.

            It’s still glass like. Brittle and clear. For all we know it’s glass from an Ultra Space mineral.

            Yes, it learns a lot of Psychic moves. However, many of these aren’t necessarily based around the psyche (the Split moves, the Room moves, and the damage halving moves) and are actually quite wide spread or at least send before in non psychics, and it only learns three damage dealing Psychic moves. Besides Psywave, the other two are literally distributed to everything and its mother.

          • Also the name Nihilego
            It literally translates to nothing and ego meaning it is nothing, that lack of a psyche and its habit of possessing is perfect for a psychic type

          • It doesn’t possess though? It alters, just as irl neurotoxins that are not in anyway psychic in real life work.

            And Nihilego probably refers to its own lack of a mind, which tbh sounds like the complete opposite of a Psychic type. The Aether Foundation even notes it likely only exists on a survival instinct, not a dastardly evil manipulative psychic mind

  323. Hey I’ve got an idea for a new way to play through any pokemon game: Pet Adventure (the cheesiest name ever)

    You box your starter, and transfer the first stage of the pokemon that looks the closest to your pet (If you have more than one pet then transfer their pokemon lookalike too) For me it would be Alolan Meowth named Joey, after my British Shorthair (I have another cat but It’s a black cat named Litten so it would be boring). And later in the game you can only catch pokemon based on pets (cats, dogs, turtles, little fish, rabbits,… etc).

    Does that make sense?

    • Right now I’d say both Raichu forms but Lurantis and Salazzle are close seconds. And yeah, Kantonian Raichu has been my favourite since my first game (Diamond, where I got my Raichu up to Lv. 100)

    • Well right now it’s Lopunny and no. I used to be (more) trash and liked Lucario for a long time. Then Mega Lopunny came around and I adored it. I bred two shiny Lopunnies, one for competitive and one for in game in ORAS. I had already made this dumb comic with a Buneary in it so I had a connection to it but I just loved the mega. Eventually I stopped liking Lucario and Lopunny became my favorite.

  353. Another story. So my school has mandatory work experience. Little background on me: awkward little shit until I came out of my shell… Well, just a year before I came out of something else. Because of this, my childhood was mostly TV and games, particularly American or American dubbed ones.

    Long story short, I have what some people (keep in mind it’s only non Americans who’ve said it, most of you guys would say I don’t sound American) say is an American accent, but nobody’s specified a state.

    Flash forward to my catering experience. Not only did they believe my name was Jason and I was worried i stole some Jason kid’s work experience (it got sorted out, Jason doesn’t exist), turns out they were guessing what state I was from before asking me about where I came from. I simply answered the name of my city, and they then asked when I’d moved here. I said I was born here. They asked when my parents moved here. I said that they were also born here. Their faces were redder than Earthen in a Tinkerbell movie.

  372. So somehow I ended up watching a bunch of the old Pokemon commercials on YouTube. I watched basically from DP up to SM. First of all I can firmly say that the whole Shohei story still gives the warm and fuzzies. It make me want to pick up my Sun copy again lol Second from watching all these commercials it’s got me thinking. We haven’t had a Spring/Summerish release in a very long time. Not since BW. I get that they basically bumped the rest of the world to Japan’s release cycle and they typically get the games in the fall, but I can’t say I’m a fan. It’s not a terrible time to release games, but I long for a time when I was able to play through a brand new Pokemon story when it’s nice out. I miss the days when it was around 50-60ish out (at least where I live) and I was able to play through my journey outside on my porch or at the park or even (not the best idea, but I was a kid) at the beach. Playing Pokemon when it’s nice out makes me feel god, but I can’t do that when the games are released right near the beginning of the Winter and I’m stuck inside……..Which is a bummer as even if Stars is real it was apparently delayed to fall. which sucks as it would mean that I almost got my Summer Pokemon game lol

      • Best way to sum it up is that it simply feels like a really well made NES/SNES platformer that has all the improvements of modern design. Like someone building a Victorian styled house with all the modern tech you would want/expect in it. That, and so long as you bought the original game, you get effectively 2 free expansion’s to the game that pretty much play as their own games.

          • It really doesn’t matter much as its the same on all platforms. I think now it works now is you would simply buy something like the treasure trove version which includes all three games, but they can be bought individually if you desired.
