Airing at 3pm PST we’ve been specifically promised a focus on Splatoon 2 and ARMS, but the official press release mentions that it will cover both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS. So who’s to say some Pokemon news wont pop up?

I know (and played) some of the older games of those franchises (back in the ds days), but didn’t find them very interesting
Awakening is loads more enjoyable than older Fire Emblem games for a newcomer. New Leaf is the best Animal Crossing there is, and A Link Between Worlds is pure fun. Dual Destinies isn’t the best in the series, but it’s a great visual novel, you have to like reading 30 hours of only text though.

Who’s actually expecting a Pokemon reveal? I think I’m making myself pessimistic so if we do get it I’ll be more hyped but if we don’t I’ll be less disappointed
I always expect the worst so I’m not disappointed when nothing happens but rather excited if something does end up happening.
I am 100% absolutely certain we will not see Pokemon. I’m expecting ARMS, Splatoon 2, and maybe a 3DS game I won’t care about.

I just realized something– THIS is the new direct format we were promised a year a half ago.
Its a fairly good format. As for the direct itself, it was pretty good having pretty much everything you would want to know pre-E3.

Well we shouldn’t know what their E3 plans are at this point. Generally you don’t find that stuff out until about a month before or so. As for game content we know it’ll be a focus on at least what they have planned for the rest of the switches first physical year. So Mario, splatoon story mode, what ever turns out to be the single player mode of arms, Xenoblade 2, ect.

Patience my friend. All things worth enjoying come in time. We’re getting Splatoon 2 much sooner then a lot of people guessed, we’re getting mario this year. We have a small chance of Xenoblade this year. Heck we might get a pokemon game this year, or not. Who knows.
1. It’s just frustrating that the first AAA title that is completely exclusive to Switch isn’t even coming for over 2 months.
2. I know that people keep saying that XC2 will be delayed because of X, but wow people have no faith. They keep asserting how it’ll be 2017, but I seem to be the only one who thinks it will launch then. I know they have more legs to stand on but I’m just surprised how little faith people how in Monolith.
1. It is what it is. Can’t really complain about it. This is kinda normal for consoles now. Most exclusive games come 6-12 months after its launch with anything early usually being a glorified tech demo.
2. I have hopes that they’ll make their deadline and I do think its honestly possible. Its just that its better to expect the worst and be pleased when proven wrong, then to expect the best and be disappointed when things don’t work out.

Hey Dicie 🙂 I feel the same way, but I understand that there needs to be a bit of a generational overlap to fully take advantage of their pre-existing market. Considering the Switch’s success, I think we’ll have plenty of games from all franchises over time. About Pokémon, I’m almost certain we’ll get an announcement early next month, like with ORAS. The timing just checks out: no Nintendo games, no Direct, no nothin’.
I feel like the next main series Pokemon games will still be on the 3DS. Although I do hope I’m wrong.

I do think it’s interesting that they are still continuing with the 3DS. Very neutral about it, so it doesn’t bother me as much. The Switch could’ve been a successor to the 3DS too, but it’s very different to see that the 6 year old handheld system is still going.
This does pretty much confirm the next Pokemon game is on the 3DS, which I’m somewhat happy about.
We’ve known that for a while though. Whether or not the Switch is a successor, they aren’t dropping the 3DS just yet. Mainly because it’d be really catastrophic if they suddenly discontinued support for both of their systems and the Switch didn’t sell well.
I was thinking they might drop it but additionally I believed it would continue.
