A new Nintendo Direct has been announced for April 12 (3PM PT/6PM ET) with new information about Nintendo Switch and 3DS games. The main focus will be on Arms and Splatoon 2, but we will probably hear about other games as well.

Ehh, I’d sooner believe that Nintendo would go 3rd party then dropping the 3DS as of this moment. By their own word they really can’t drop it right now, and its fairly unlikely that the Switch could ever fully carry both branches of Nintendo’s markets.
I think they’ll wait till the switch has more to offer while slowly developing less games for the 3DS
That’s likely, but no matter what it won’t change the fact that the Switch will always have a high price for entry, which the handheld market doesn’t tolerate and for better or worse games made for the switch will always be designed for the home console market first, hence why its a home console first and a portable second. You really can’t have a game designed for both markets, or at least any attempt to do so would kinda naturally gravitate to one side with what would feel like some tacked on features.

You fight the first gym then you gotta go to campfire town, then go to the mansion that’s covered in trainers, do a worse version of the farcetched puzzle in Johto, get hit on by Shauna, wake up snorlax, go to the mini battle maison, go through a cave, go through a super slow route on a Rhyhorn, another cave, Team Flare (the worst evil team ever, you think literal Pokémon nazis would be at least be threatening), THEN GO THE NEXT TOWN, THEN YOU CAN FIGHT THE GYM.
It sounds worse now that you put it like that…and don’t forget you have to pass through literal pokemon purgatory Lumiose city where you never know where you are and just wander aimlessly through the city

They could’ve done it at least for moonblast since it’s like the embodiment of the moon phases. You would think it would get STAB from a move named after it.
Okay since I’m walking up to meet my friends I can type
Elf, pixie, sprite. All types of fairies or fairy like beings. All three look like fairies. The Fairy plate is literally called the Pixie Plate.
Megabsol has angel themes, Gardevoir, Togekiss and Megaudino all do too and are fairies.
Milotic is a siren/mermaid, if Primarina is a Water/Fairy Milotic should be too. So helps with contrast against Gyarados.
Banshees are literally fairies. Next.
Cresselia has the obvious moon themes, but also has the role of a protector and a guardian, similar to modern depictions of fairies. If Dedenne is a fairy, Cresselia should be. Also helps with the light vs dark theme with Darkrai.
Staraptor is combatitive, learns a decent chunk of fighting moves, and with that mohawk certainly looks like a fighter. Also, reckless referring to its fighting style, its skilled enough to partake in close combat with talons.
Toucannon’s beak heating up was ample opportunity to change it from normal but they didn’t, Steel avoids Fire like Talonflame to keep it unique.

Ehh, hard call, but I’d say given its about 2 months to E3, we won’t see any new games. Maybe localizations/ports, but nothing new.
Mm, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get an announcement before E3 for the Pokemon game seeing ad the past few games haven’t been announced at big events, and since it’ll likely be a third version/remake I’m wondering if it’ll even show up at E3 (iirc ORAS didn’t, I might be speaking rubbish tho)
That of course is completely based off of the past, traditions can be broken
Who knows really, but given the next games in the remake schedule are the Sinnoh games, its a hard call. Their very love hate, and it could be something you want to announce at E3 since people more complained about the gen 4 engine then gen 4 being bad. But who really knows.
As for third versions, I don’t find it likely. Its fairly clear that they’ve abandoned the idea of making them.
It would be very, very bizarre if GF waited until beyond early May to announce this year’s game. I feel like, why would they wait a few weeks to announce at the last minute instead of using this Direct opportunity?

Say what you want about Overwatch but dang they listen to their fans so well. Sombra ARG was terrible? Make a quick Orisa one with good build up. Too many holiday events? Story related event
Too be fair though part of the issue with Sombra was the fact that her build up was hinted in coded messages that less then one percent of players could figure out, so their was some salt built up there. But yeah, its great to see some new story content. Now all I need is some sort of necromancer omnic/cyborg and this game will be perfection to me.

See I like this kind of fan variants. Most of the variants I see from fan art is just them basing one Pokemon off another and calling it a regional variant. It’s not good, but this makes a lot of sense. lol

Choosing a Ground type in gen 4 is so difficult, between Garchomp, Mamoswine, Gliscor Hippowdon, Torterra and Gastrodon we’re pretty spoilt for choice.

On the subject of Pokemon, I honestly think it’s possible. While GF usually does their own thing, the timing is pretty on target at this point. While it’s still unlikely, I’m not going to dismiss the idea altogether.
Well we’re definitely closing the gap for pokemon. We have about 3 weeks for confirmation until there’s likely no game this year.
A bit more than that. I’m saying E3 is the deadline. I’m not saying they would reveal the game at E3, but they would definitely want to have announced it before hand. I’d say if we don’t have anything by June 1 it isn’t happening this year.
Idk, that feel a bit late to me. That’d be like a 4-5 month window.
In all fairness though, if it was only a remake that would be enough time. Most people would know the vast majority of the game, and the hype for it would be around any new changes made.
Yeah, but they gave ORAS a full half year and that was pretty short compared to previous releases. And if it’s not on the 3DS and is on the switch, I feel like they’d delegate more time to hype it and reveal graphical upgrades.
Personally I think its way to early to be thinking of switch games. Like it’ll be at least another 2 years before we see anything pokemon on the switch.
As for the time compared to ORAS; it could be that they’ve learned from it and that remakes don’t need as much hype, or simply aren’t worth it. Not much gets changed with the remakes, so its not like we need a ton of information to help hype us up. Maybe the new design’s of team galactic, the cover pokemon, the PC, and some of the new design’s would be enough, and maybe showing off the newer features that their playing around with.

Sounds like the GameXplain guys are 100% against the idea of a Pokemon reveal in this Direct. For this reason, I’m going to include it in MY predictions. Do they not realize that it would break all past tradition to reveal a Pokemon game at E3? What is the pattern exactly?
The sun and Moon words are either white or black, with a black or white outline, and then a second outline thats a gradient going from yellow to red or light blue to purple.
This one uses a sort of cosmic background instead of a solid color and doesn’t have any gradient effect. As well it chooses the color purple, which seems ok at a glance since the versions are more or less red and blue, but the games had a general warm and cool color scheme, making something of a third version would probably go more for a gray scale sort of design. At least I’d guess that would be the design direction, given everyone assumes that the cover pokemon would be Necro, which being represented by the extremes of color would be fitting given its a prism.

Well I agree about this direct not saying anything about Pokemon, but I would say if a game is coming out this year it’ll be announced earlier than E3. Ew, no. Charizard’s design isn’t good. I like the guy, but it’s just a dragon, nothing special. Greninja is a horribly designed creature.
In terms of popularity, yeah, it’s on par with them, but its concept is more unique and owl firing silent ghostly arrows just pairs so well. I actually really like the idea of a ninja frog, but they so fucked it up.
Being a dragon makes it automatically special.

Just watched the English dub of episode 4 of the Sun and Moon anime. I have to say I’m actually digging the comedy in this season. 2 things I know about this show from this episode. The first being that Bewear is the best thing invented since sliced bread. Bewear with Team Rocket is SO F’ING FUNNY!!! I knew from watching the first episode I’d like Bewear in the show, but at this point it’s validating why i liked Bewear when it was revealed lol The second I thing I know form this episode is that Rotom-Dex is the most annoying thing in the world. I don’t mind the voice acting, but why does it need to KEEP TALKING?!?!?! Like every 5 seconds it has something dumb to say………It really ruins what would otherwise be very funny scenes. I hope later on they dial it back on it chimecho-ing in ( I had to lol)
Finished the final season of Korra. Now I feel… empty. Actually enjoyed the world of Korra more than that of The Last Airbender, but they both have their strengths and weaknesses. Really wishing for a new series/new spin-off in the coming few years. Found out they are creating a comic that continues the story from the final episode, further building Korra’s and Asami’s relationship, releasing this July. Definitely checking that out.
I agree that overall, Korra was better than ATLA. I enjoyed Zaheer and Kuvira too much lol
Found Zaheer to be a bit of a weird villain. Could have used a bit more backstory. You’re telling me this guy without bending at first was super dangerous and able to lead a group of one of the most powerful benders in the world? And after he is done for the Red Lotus never returns again? The rest is all very enjoyable though :).
I think perhaps some of that was explained in the beginning of Book 3.
Wasn’t he very well-read, and had studied a lot of works? I don’t think his power came from practice, but rather from wisdom.
It’s been about 3 years though.
A flashback with him studying airbending techniques could’ve helped there. My main problem was how he magically got selected to be an airbender. They made it seem random, but that’s an awfully dangerous coincidence.
That’s easily explained by the ‘faith’ mechanism in the series. The balance required him to go haywire, so Korra could stop him and learn something new. It’s the cycle of life, I guess.
I think Azula is still the best villain of the avatar series though. She’s just so cool.

Honesrly trying to explain my reasons for not liking it could easily turn into an essay, and I want to start that I have no problem with people liking Korra. Its a good series on its own, but when placed beside its orgional series, it looks worse in every possible way to me. I’ll try to do my best to sum up my thoughts though.
Its just nearly every choice made about it kinda feels more like it was something the writers wanted to do for fun, but didn’t plan out in the long term. Like the main city being very clearly based off of NYC(though people argue it could be Hong Kong) which kind throws off the fact that the four nations were based on eastern cultures and kinda seems to come out of nowhere culturally. This is fine for something for a one off season, which is what Korra was planned as, but it showed that they didn’t plan for the chance of the series being given a second season. Then there’s Korra herself being more of a hot head and impulsive because they wanted to write someone who was opposite of Aang, but at the same time it doesn’t really make that much sense from a cultural stand point and the writers have even joked about the fact that Korra was a fire bender in a water benders body, which at that point I which they would have just made her a fire bender and had a throw away line that said the previous two avatars died young. Then theirs Mako, who’s incredibly boring, being put into a romance with her simply because the writers like KataraxZuko and wanted to try writing that out in Korra, ignoring the fact that the two characters had little to no chemistry with one another and thank goodness their relationship did end in season 2 as it was one of the better parts of that horrible season. And while I’ll openly say I do like who Korra does end up with, I do wish it was better hinted since as far as I can remember its more something that only starts to drop clear hints and not mindless shipping fodder in season 4. While on characters, Most of the case is really good IMO, but sadly its the majority of the leads that really kill it for me. And to stay positive for a moment I do think it did a good job fleshing out the world and explaining some aspects like the spirit world more. That’s always nice to see. But probably the thing that I hate the most is the villains of the series in that they range from trash tier characters that should have been throw out as soon as they were pitched to some of the greatest villains that I’ve scene in a long time and easily could, and should, have been a main threat for multiple seasons. My problem comes back to the issue that Korra was intended to be a one off season, which meant that they were never really certain how much time they would have for the series and thus kinda just churned out characters that had to be defeated in 13 episodes or so, which never really made them feel like that big of a threat. Honestly I’d go as far as saying the Last Air Bendsers villains, while some being worse individually, were perfectly done.
I could probably keep going for a long time pointing out the things that I don’t like, but I think the biggest issue I have with it is kind of something that I applaud with the first show over Korra, and that’s very subtly the characters grow and mature to the point that by the end when your seeing them talk to Aang about killing the Fire Lord, most people react to it saying he hates killing because he’s a monk, and forget that he’s a 12 year old kid. That these characters over three seasons have grown into adults despite their age and watching the series again you notice this gradual change and realize how well it was handled. Korra on the other hand never really did that, at least to my eye. Characters never really grew or changed with time, even having a three year time skip at one point. We meet our characters as teenagers, and they never really grow beyond that, and that does irk me a lot. The Last Air Bender something that I’d go as far as arguing as saying its the best thing in western animation ever, and Korra, while its really good, just falls hard for me since its trying to compare to perfection in my eyes.
But again more power to the people who do like it. I’ll admit I abandoned the series about half way through season 4 simply because I couldn’t stomach it anymore. Maybe its ending magically would win me over, but everything I’ve heard generally sounds like the series peaked at season 3, which I’ll admit was really good, though honestly probably should have been spread out over two seasons.
Well, that’s a lot to reply to! Not going to write another essay, but I have to say I actually like how they fused Eastern and Western culture together. It’s set somewhere reminiscent of 1920’s and later, and the period leading up to that time period saw a huge shift from Eastern dominance to Western dominance. In that way the world felt alive and fresh compared to TLA, I don’t know if I really wanted yet another season set in the same world.
And yes, the story moves a lot faster and there’s less room for character progression, but it comes with the upside of having no slack episodes. There are some times in TLA where the story really crawls along. That said, they both do their own stuff, and in a way that’s better than just getting more of the same.

I found a statue of Hylia in the woods but I couldn’t find the item it wanted. Ill come back to it later.
After I finally left the forest I cleared a couple Shrines and found a horse stable. I found a horse and named him eggshells because his butt looks like a broken egg shell.
Then I almost had a heart attack because of the blood moon. I was going up a hill when it all went red and I started freaking out looking around for and enemy or… something. Then a freaking merchant comes walking into my view and I freak out until the cutscenes starts and Zelda starts talking. It was spooky
I wish Impa looked like how she does in Ss and OoT. I like her voice though.
Lastly I made it to that other town next to Kakariko and found a girl who wanted me to go kill some monsters. By the beach. I proceeded to spend 30 minutes trying to stealthily blow them up with bombs from atop a cliff until I could safely go in and finish off the last couple.

The statues of Hylia, at the Spring of Power/Wisdom/Courage, need scales from the dragons roaming around the world. At least one of them does, so I assume they all do. You can get the scales by shooting the dragon with an arrow; a scale will drop when you hit it

Yeah. To give you an idea where to search you can find one around a bridge south of the great Plateau. Its a big bridge. Another one can be found in the far south of the world map. No idea where the third one is.

Sure a fresh new game featuring one of the other regions would be amazing, but think about how cool Kanto and Johto would look in the SM engine. They’d need to spiff them up a bit and add new areas, but if that happened and they made the regions less empty then it would totes amaze balls lol

I think the Pokemon are bland, the characters are bland, the region itself is bland, and I’d rather see Johto with better pacing and level curving then Kanto for the fifth time
But that’s what they would do in a sequel to make it better. they’d need to flesh it out anyway to fit the engine by adding new areas and making the old ones look more filled and less empty. As for the characters, if it’s a sequel the you’d get both new and old ones. They’ve obviously come a long way in terms of character design so even if old characters do show up they could be much more lively. Well anyway…..The idea I saw featured both Kanto and Johto so even if it was real you could still just play the Johto version hahaha

Why tho? It’s an archer and they aren’t exactly fast, as well as the fact that special moves are mostly non contact (read: projectile) just as an arrow is. I mean it even has a such an emphasis on being a projectile fighter it has an ability that turns all of its moves not make contact

It’s arrows are apparently physical and it quite literally gets two special moves, both outclassed by its physical moves. I know not all Pokémon is competitive, but it irks me just seeing it have a stat that high be absolutely useless.
And people say specifically sets are a thing, but it has spirit shackle and leafblade so…

And I mean… Def and HP don’t make sense, it doesn’t look defensive at all and archers don’t typically wear heavy armour (they’re usually behind other armoured units or an elevated area).
Speed doesn’t make sense because Decidueye lost the Flying-Type that could relate to a owl’s diving speed, and for all we know it can’t even fly outside of its Z-Move because it can’t even learn the move Fly.
I just wish it had that stat swapped with something… that’s all…

I’m honestly not a major fan of the Alola Pokemon, both in terms of design and from a competitive stand point.

Jk, I loved Kalos’ Pokemon designs but it’s the story and the like that I don’t like
I feel Kalos gets too much hate for its story (and other things). I agree, It wasn’t the best, but i guess coming after gen 5 left a lot to be desired.
Gen 6 brought more to the table for me personally in terms of mechanics and Gen 7 was lacking in that department. I even feel Alola was over sold as a region. It is actually just as bland as Kalos Post-Game (not that anyone would admit it)
I like the UB Story over Kalos’ looker story and at least we had that remaining bit of Poni rather than just one town but SuMo post game is kinda bad compared to say, Gen V
Kalos brought more new stuff but imo it used it poorly, Megas were heavily underused imo 😡

What was the best Gen for your favourite type?
We only got five/seven Poisons in SuMo but I love all their designs and they’re all somewhat competitively viable so I love it
Gen 5/7 introduced more than one line and they were nicely designed (ghost)
Gen 3 for Steel Types
Aggron, Metagross, Jirachi, Registeel ( I love the Regi designs)
Gen 5 was good as well with Excadrill, Ferrothor, Escavalier and Bisharp
I don’t like Gen 3 too much but the steels were ?
Dissppointing Gen 7 was terrible for Steel Types (Magearna is the only one I like).
Gen 6 was equally as bad, but Aegislash alone made up for it to an extent.

Ehh, it really depends on where you are. We have towns that have populations in the hundreds to thousands, and city’s with populations in the millions. My home town is about 30k people, and even then it feels really small.
As for portions, that’s a glorious side-effect of post WW2 culture that we’ve never really recovered from for better or worse.
