Pokémon Mascot Showdown: Generation VII

Hey everybody, due to certain circumstances, we’re bringing you the last regional Mascot Showdown a little bit later! The winner of the last showdown is Xerneas with 53%.
Let’s move on to our last region: Alola. This brand new region is the startpoint for Generation VII – bringing incredible, new features like Trials, Z-Moves, the Battle Royal, Poké Rides, regional variants and so much more!

Pokémon Sun Version

Pokémon Sun featured Solgaleo, the Sunne Pokémon, on its cover. It resembles a more robust white lion design complete with a galaxy motif on its forehead. Its crownlike spikes and its tuffs of fur around its head resemble a sun. Among the people of Alola, it’s known as the beast that devours the sun and has therefore been honored as its emissary.

Solgaleo is the only known Pokémon that can learn the move Sunsteel Strike. Along with Lunala, its counterpart, it’s the only Legendary Pokémon that’s part of an evolutionary line. Not to mention it also has the highest HP-stat of all Steel-type Pokémon. Its name comes from ‘sol‘ (Latin for ‘sun’), ‘Galileo‘ (the man who proved that the Earth rotated around the sun) and ‘leo‘ (Latin for ‘lion’).

Pokémon Moon Version

Lunala, the Moone Pokémon, graced the cover of Pokémon Moon. It’s a large skeleton-like bat whose wings seem to resemble the moon, and are made of the night sky. Much like Solgaleo, it can travel between our dimension and the Ultra Space. Additionally, it’s called the beast that calls the moon, thus gaining the title “emissary of the moon” by the Alolan people.

Lunala‘s signature move is called Moongeist Beam. While Solgaleo is called the male evolution of Cosmog, Lunala is called the female one. Its name derives from ‘luna‘ (Latin for ‘moon’) and ‘ala‘ (Latin for ‘wing’).

  6. This is the song that will be playing in my head from now until Thursday. It’s me versus what might be a very difficult 4 days. However, I think the payoff will be far beyond worth it. I’m just mad that I’ll miss the live Treehouse on Friday, but you better believe I’ll watch the entire thing as soon as I can.

  11. Anyone making a Rom hack, be careful what you download! I was looking for Advanced Trainer by hack mew but could only find ones infested with trojans. Go with Unnamed Trainer Editor instead

  12. Megaman 1 was cool but it’ll probably be over soon. So the next super interesting run in AGDQ is Pokemon Emerald which will be about 22-23 hours from now…

    i mean after the presentation what else are we gonna do….

    i’m officially running out of things to keep my sweaty mitts occupied with……
    and that’s just for the rest of this month, we still gotta trudge through February, this is why cryostasis should be a thing because its HELLA Boring to wait

    • I’m surprised how you can run out of things to do outside your job… Pokemon, watching Youtube, chatting with my GF*, napping and drawing already take up all my free time.

  23. This is your obligatory daily HYPE!!! post from yours truly. Exactly 4 days until the event! Things are going to be so different for me once this presentation happens and the Switch becomes a reality for everyone. My motivation to do things is decreasing rapidly for some reason and it’s starting to affect me mentally. For the first time, I’m telling myself that I NEED to play more games, because I know how important it is to me. The Switch will be a fresh start opportunity. My goal is to make it a trend to play at least an hour per day on weekdays and at least 3 hours per day on weekends by the end of March (because I’m not doing that yet). I really must sound like a madman, but I know what I’m trying to say. I don’t want my backlog to swallow me whole. Here’s your Animal Crossing song of the day.

      download a emulator and power play some classics like OoT, MM, Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie and…..maybe some Bomberman Games

      • Thank you, this is definitely something I’m planning on doing. My problem is that I usually play a game once and never touch it again, but I want to go back and play all of my favorites, like Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 and Luigi’s Mansion. I’ll take your advice to heart and retread old ground.

      I’m just sitting in my arm chair with a half a glass of wine, buck nekkid, reading from a vintage prima strategy guide of Majora’s Mask, occasionally attending my nethers, ah a pity… as the pitch black of night consumes the sky, the world half adrift in the realms of sleep, but a few rack their minds awake, thinking and thinking as they lie in bed pondering the possibilities the dawn world will bring, mostly fear and worry cloud judgment with such a haze rationality nor optimism can cut a swath through, tis the time meant for rest but restful the nights just truly aren’t anymore…

    • No thanks. I dont have enough creativity to do either. I am just trying to complete the tree and maybe start some competitive battling or just casually play pokemon sun. I might get an emulator and play Volt WHite2/ Pokemon Stadium 2. MAYBE venture and play Earthbound. But if the water is too cold, back to pokemon
