Ready to get friendly with others playing Pokémon Sun or Moon? There’s a new official competition coming up for trainers and the rules have just been announced! You can find them listed below, but don’t forget to sign-up from January 19 through 26. Participants will all earn 50 Battle Points!
• This competition uses Single Battle format.
• Players may use only Pokémon from the Alolan Pokédex.
• All Mythical and Legendary Pokémon are not allowed.
• Mega Stones are not allowed.
• Items are allowed, but Trainers may not have duplicate items in their Battle Team.
• Register three to six of your Lv. 1–100 Pokémon to your Battle Team.
• All Pokémon in this competition will automatically become Lv. 50 for the duration of each match.
• Three of the Pokémon you register to your Battle Team will be chosen to battle in each match.
• A 10-minute time limit for each player will automatically be enforced in-game, beginning at the start of each battle. If the outcome has not been determined when the time limit expires, the game will automatically apply tiebreakers to determine a winner.
• At the beginning of each battle, players have 90 seconds to select three Pokémon with which to battle.
• At the beginning of each turn, players have 60 seconds to select a move or change the Pokémon in battle. If a player has not made his or her selections at the end of this period, the game will automatically make selections for the player.
• Players may battle up to 15 games per day of the competition. Any unplayed games will carry over to the following day. A new day begins at 00:00 UTC.

I never do enter Pokemon competitions online, think it’s because I don’t like having losses recorded on my game. Good ole psychological reasons.

Magnezone is pretty OK, though Magnezone is mostly used to take out Celesteela, and trap Kartana. Metagross would be way better, I think.

Eh, Scizor isn’t really a counter since it can’t kill it with Bullet Lunch as Psychic Terrain blocks priority moves. It also sometimes carries HP fire
I have to apologize since VGC is my expertise. You’ll never see HP Fire on Lele, so Lele really can’t do anything to Scizor there, plus you probably have your own Tapu to remove Lele’s terrain.

Yeah I realized you were talking about singles hehe. I actually don’t have any idea if they’re asking for singles tips so I just put in the first thing that comes into mind.
But yeah, Scizor is not really the best counter in singles since it’ll have to run the sub-optimal iron head to take out Lele. <3
Don’t forget Gengar as Tapu Lele is Fairy/Psychic, and Psychic = weak to Ghost, fairy = weak to Poison.
Kartana is a check at best considering it does not switch in easly with its poor special defence.

Not sure, I mean last competition you were allowed to use any amount of UBs and Tapus, they weren’t counted as a special pokemon like Solgaleo and Lunala. So I believe they don’t fall into the category as a legendary.

ok well according to Serebii tapus and Ub’s are allowed in the comp… so I guess they should have been more specific, the only banned pokemon are Zygarde, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, Magearna, there are a heck of a lot of banned moves though

Anyway, I am curious what moves are banned. My assumption is Recycle is one of them for obvious reasons.

Is a Jolly Celestella good? I got it from one of my friends because I had Sun, and I’m not sure if its a good nature or not.
Not really. speed is its worse stat, so its not ideal. I can always fix it with PKhex if you like and you don’t mind since it was something from your friend.
It’s fine, thank you though. I’ll just have to be creative with the Jolly nature and see what I can do with it.

So it was my 326th encounter lol I was getting worried tho as earlier in the hint one ate my Leppa berry with Pluck so I couldn’t use my Smeargle to it’s fullest potential lol

I certainly tried my best getting (most) of my shinies, Dhelmise, Primarina, Bruxish, Toxapex.
A few, like Alolan Ninetales, Raichu, Mimikyu and Lycanroc mid-day form I got by RGTS.
1 Pokemon I got on Wonder Trade which was Oranguru.
1 Pokemon that could’ve fat in the first category but dropped to hacked-shiny is Lurantis.
I forgot to mention I also got a shiny Incineroar from Wonder Trade as well.
