Pokémon Mascot Showdown: Generation VI

Greetings everyone, here is another Mascot Pokémon Showdown. The winner of last time is Zekrom with 35%!
Now it’s time for Kalos. Generation VI released in 2013 with a worldwide release for the first time. This generation contained just two main games, namely X and Y, and featured some great new stuff like the Fairy-typing, Mega Evolution and trainer customization.

Pokémon X Version

Pokémon X showcased Xerneas, the Life Pokémon. It’s the first Fairy-type Legendary and is a stag-like creature shaped like an X. The horns on its head contain the colors of the rainbow and can grant someone eternal life. When it’s at the end of its own life, it transforms into a tree and sleeps for 1000 years.

There is no other Pokémon known than Xerneas that can learn the move Geomancy, making it the only Legendary Mascot whose signature move is a status move. It has the same stat distribution as Yveltal, but has the highest base stat total and Attack stat of all non-Mega Evolved Fairy-type Pokémon. Its name may come from the letter ‘X‘ and ‘cervus‘ (Latin for ‘deer’).

Pokémon Y Version

Pokémon Y featured Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon. It is an avian Pokémon with the Dark/Flying type combo. Its wings and tail make the letter Y when fully extended. It has the power to absorb life energy. In contrast to Xerneas, Yveltal sucks all the life energy of every living thing around it when it is at the end of its life, creating a cocoon of itself so it can sleep for 1000 years.

Yveltal‘s signature move is called Oblivion Wing. It has the highest base HP stat of all Dark-type Pokémon and is actually also the only Dark-type Mascot Legendary Pokémon known yet. Its name possibly derives from the letter ‘Y‘, ‘yvel‘ (Middle English for ‘evil’) and ‘talon‘.

    • I’ve taken a break to get the shiny charm. 2/3 of the way there.

Hunting 2650 pikipek with no shiny really takes a lot out of you.

  4. Ugh, this is terrible, consider it the practice first rough draft of a tired guy.. Night!

    PokéJungle Anime
    Scene 1
    Grounded

The ground shook as Mega Gardevoir’s Hyper Voice struck against Decidueye’s Sinister Arrow Raid.

“Alright, I know they’re both powerful, but neither even struck the ground!” Gardevoir’s trainer, Star exclaimed.

She returned Gardevoir to her Poké Ball as the Mega Pokémon fell to the onslaught of arrows.

The ground shook again. Decidueye’s trainer-Seraph-spoke up.

    “Uh… Miss Star? I don’t think that’s what it was…”

Just as Seraph finished his speech, he had to scramble out or the way as a pillar of stone violently materialised underfoot. Star had also needed to avoid one.

The Akala Arena was being stormed by a multitude of men in dirt brown robes, as if they were spirits roused from the earth itself. Audience members screamed as they either desperately escaped or found themselves swallowed up by the earth itself, before being regurgitated onto hills of unconscious prisoners.

A voice boomed from the loudspeakers.

“People of Akala. Well, those of you not pathetic enough to fall straight away-” began. It was a man’s voice, booming as if someone shouted through a canyon, through a megaphone. “-I am your new ruler. The King of the Earthen Dominion!”

The man emerged from the Kahuna’s Balcony, where Olivia had unfortunately been absent from. He was heavy set, with hair and a beard that looked as if the earth itself was clinging to his face. His eyes were the colour of a mudslide-what seemed harmless now rapidly coming towards you, threatening to extinguishing your life.

Seraph had heard of the Dominion. A cruel attempt at dictatorship, to create a Rockruff-eat-Rockruff world, without the burdens of sensitivity and femininity.

Star obviously had too, seeing as she looked at the Earthen King with a look of pure annoyance.

“Star, you’re… you’re a stronger battler than I am.” Seraph began, catching her attention. “Please, fend off those creeps, I’ll distract the King over here.”

Star grimly nodded. “I don’t want to deal with that creep anyway.”

She ran off, unleashing her Fairy artillery upon the underlings of the King. Play Roughs, Moonblasts and Dazzling Gleams lit the arena a soothing pink, washing over the threat of the Dominion’s invasion.

    The King wasn’t happy.

“Fairies! It’s always those despicable sissy balls of ‘peace’ and ‘love’, isn’t it!?!?”

“Not just Fairies.” Seraph smirked. “Did you think me and Decidueye here wouldn’t interfere?”

“Feh. As if that overrated suckage spirit could do anything against my Rhyperior.”

And with that, the King threw a Heavy Ball into the air. A meteor struck the battlefield. A massive, Rhyperior-shaped hunk of rock which was towering over Seraph and Decidueye like a huge mountain of malevolence.

“You’re not going to get past us! Not a ghost of a chance!” Announced Seraph, his voice cracking.

The King laughed, deeply and honestly, in Seraph’s opinion, a bit cliched. “Let’s cut this short. We’re burning precious time, and the flames are meant for Fairies.”

The man touched the golden brace around his wrist, which caused a stone of a cinnamon complexion to violently shimmer as the King slammed his hand against the Earth.

    “Tectonic Rage!”

There was no way out of it. Seraph’s Decidium refused to work, still recovering. He had no time to switch Z-Crystals. And Decidueye was tired from taking a Pixilate Hyper Voice to the face.

The King’s face was engraved with a smug, bloodthirsty smirk as his Z-Power tunnelled its way into his Rhyperior. The Drill Pokémon leapt into the sky, unnaturally, before spiralling down towards Seraph and Decidueye. It wasn’t just going to knock Decidueye out. If the attack

That’s when Seraph’s Dusk Ball opened, causing a shadow to creep out of it.

It saved Seraph’s life, without a Marshadow of a doubt.

The little humanoid was in its battle stance, holding a braking behemoth’s horn between its hands.

It cried over to its trainer, who had already switched the Z-Crystal on the middle of his Ring.

“Soul Stealing-” He began, as he began the dance. He then felt a cold presence enter his body, and his eyes glazed over as an uncontrollable smirk settled across his face. “-Seven Star-”

The King snapped out of his reverie. “Your Pokémon! My Rhyperior! HOW!?”

His answer was for Seraph to scream “Strike!”, which resulted in Marshadow flipping backwards, embedding the now confused Rhyperior into the earth.

“IF WE EVER MEET AGAIN, I WILL DESTROY YOU.” The King half said, half shouted. He reached for Rhyperior’s Heavy Ball.

But he was too late. Marshadow lunged with an incredible darkness surrounding it, before simply punting Rhyperior into the sky, the Pokémon stuck in shadow. The Heavy Ball dispersed the shadows as it retrieved the fainted Pokémon.

The King furiously stomped away, as the last of his servants fell to a clearly exhausted Star and her even more exhausted team.

But the most exhausted was Seraph. Using two heavily demanding Ghost Z-Moves in such a short time could spell grave consequences.

He fell unconscious, flat on his face.

  5. @StarStorm, for the rough rough draft of the Fairy Legion chapter:

-Is your character driven by serious or in realistic goals (I was thinking about LGBT discrimination since both of us for fit in, especially for L&G. I don’t feel confident enough that I can tackle trans issues with my writings because I doubt that I’m experienced enough even with accounts of trans discrimination to realistically write how it’d effect a Pokémon character, and I don’t even and want to think about it unless I get confirmation if you’re alright with having your gender identity influence your fictional character. I’d hate to make you feel uncomfortable or anything)

-Is she completely in control of her actions or not? I kind of want to make her an extravagant psychopath that’d blow Lusamine out of the water, but I also want to keep her relatable and with treats of the person she’s based off of.

    • 1. I’m fine with you including that if you feel it will help the story! If you’re unsure about something in particular just ask or if you dont want to spam the comments you can message me on the forums.

      2. She is in control but i see her more as she gets carried away with her power. Like she has moments of acknowledging her methods are wrong but keeps on going anyways. It just kinda spirals from there

      • 1) Okay! I think at least for the rough drafts I’ll probably just stick to L&G and maybe expand it to T as well if I feel it’s good for the story? I think it’s important for me to learn how write trans characters because it’s such a relevant topic and its the representation of people.

Also, thanks for the offer! It’s amazing of you to offer to help me with my writing, even if it’s just a fanfic! 😀

        2) I like the idea of carrying away. It makes it so she doesn’t just go away morally unscathed (personally, I hate it when the Villain has no punishment) but she won’t be straight up unlikable. Possibly even one of those ‘villains turned weird family member’ characters after the Toucannon Redemption Arc?

        • 1. Yeah of course! Trans representation is obviously really important to me so any opportunity for me to help with that is a good one.

          2. Yep spot on! She definitively needs to become more hesitant and quiet after leaving the picture for a bit. The heros can make her slowly come out of her shell though and kinda turn into that weird family member character?

          • 1) Definetley! Seeing how we’re getting more LGB representation even in kids shows (my Persuasive folio piece for English is literally ‘LGB Representation in Children’s Animation’ , because I wanted it to be so stupidly niche it’d gain the marker’s attention), I’m really hoping more Trans characters show up!

            2) Your character is literally going to be Fairy obsessed crossover Peridot/Lapis XD

    • That should be how it would ‘affect’ a Pokemon character, not ‘effect’.
Affect is a verb (i.e. to affect someone), effect is a noun (i.e. the effects of something).

If you’re going to be writing stories you might want to know that 😛
