- Primarina is Popplio’s final evolution, Water/Fairy. New signature move Sparkling Aria heals the burns of those it hits
- Akala Island’s Guardian Deity is Tapu Lele (Psychic/Fairy)

It wouldn’t be too bad, but they do that stupid hand-motion too.
I think I suddenly understand how Earthen feels when he sees a Fairy.
I like how Hau (haha wordplay) only uses one hand when greeting us. Make its seem more bearable.
I hope gen 8 won’t exploit Fairies like gen 7 is doing. Getting sick of seeing so many of them, although I do like some of them genuinely.

Tbh I see them as a common type bit at least make them common in proportion to other types rather than having them making nearly 1/6th of the Dex

Decidueye is my favorite but that name is awful. And I really thought the Tapu and Oricorio’s forms shared their main types. Really disappointed that Tapu Bulu is Grass instead of Fire.

Me too, but him and Blue aging brings up the question of why Wally hasn’t aged at least a little. Regardless of by how much, Sun and Moon should be after all previous games.
ORAS/RSE could be set years after RBY.
Maybe ORAS is different, but typically RSE has been seen as set close to the time of RBY/FRLG. Maybe not exactly at the same time, but they’ve always been close time wise. Same with DPPT and HGSS. So it doesn’t really make much sense. Then again they’ve been changing stuff with the timeline a bunch recently.
Depends what you’re basing your assumptions of the timeline on.
The only definitive stuff we know are the cases where the time difference has been explicitly mentioned, like in GC, otherwise the timeline could be all over the place.

Tapu Bulu is kind of weak offensively.
A Life Orb, Grassy Terrain boosted Wood Hammer only does 75% to Tauros

It wasn’t the Z move.
In the Japanese Trailer it uses Wood Hammer on a Tauros.
In that case, bear in mind it’s only 2 levels above and probably doesn’t have the right Nature, IVs or EVs.

But something tells me the Tapus will be defensive/support Pokemon anyway. Although Bulu and Koko do look like the two that could be offensive orientated.
Fini is definately defensive going by its lore. Bulu is probably mixed or has a lot of stat boosting moves. Not sure about the other two.

Got to admit, I definately remember Diantha’s battle taking longer.
I don’t think her character was very interesting, but her team certainly was, even without the mega.
(I’d forgotten Diantha even existed for a moment, my brain was thinking Cynthia was the only female Champion)

It doesnt matter repeat types, it matters if you can cover weakness, which diantha certainly did. Cynthia is “did you at least train your starter and abomasnow? Good you win.” evn if you didnt grab abomasnow, ice and grass moves destroy her entire team, bar lucario, who gets wrecked by staraptor (who also does incredibly against her, on just stats alone) and move earthquake.
You actually made me laugh. Cynthia was super well balanced and has a diverse team. Both Lance and Steven only use one type of Pokémon. Cynthia has a really well balanced team and is one of the strongest trainers in the game. Stop pretending she wasn’t challenging

Her type diversity got her nowhere, she was squashed in a matter of minutes on the first try.
Maybe if you had something to defeat her garchomp. If you don’t prep for that you’re going to have a hard time.

Even Spiritomb was annoying back then when it had no weaknesses. Good look taking down milotic or togekiss in one shot though.
They take about the same amount of time. Nothing on Cynthia’s team is particularly challenging.
Again, it really depends how balanced your team is. I think mixed type champions are definitely more difficult though. You have to prep more for them.
Your team should be balanced anyway, you do have to defeat 4 other trainers before you reach the champion after all.
If you only brought stuff to take down Steel types you probably wouldn’t even make it to Steven.
She wasnt. Abomasnow eats her entire team, except lucario, which both torterra and infernape deal with easy. Spiritomb isnt doing jack to anything anytime soon.
Diantha had counters to her counters. Fighting type wrecking her fossils? Mega gardevoir and the speedy hawlucha will destroy them.
I say destroy lightly, because all trainers aside from facility leaders and frontier brains are nothing more than a weakness contest.
Again…you’re prepping for her dragon type. I also find it hard to believe Abomasnow could survive against Garchomp, seeing as it carried flamethrower and way outspeeds it.

Her garchomp is her ace, so she always sends it out last. Abomasnow handles gastrodon, togekiss, roserade, and probably spiritomb as its not doing much .

So, here is a thought, and this is just speculation, so dont treat it as fact.
During the datamine, there was data found for 3 moves, laser focus, throat chop, and Aurora Veil. Id say its safe to assume these are for the starters, as they fit their themes well, but, in this trailer, we see their exclusive moves. So, here’s my thought: what if the secret shared between the starters and rockruff is version exclusive moves? We already know lycanroc midday has accelrock as its exclusive move, and midnight has counter instead. Just a thought, what do you think?
That just make things very confusing. What if I want a move on my starter that’s from the other version, will transferring it over work, or will someone have to teach it in that version for me?
Not to mention that’s more effort to add that mechanic.
They already did it with lycanroc so its the same concept, confusing or not, we clearly see its possible.
Lycanrock is two completely different forms though. And we’ve already seen different formes learning different moves.
I think it’s more likely that they have two moves unique to their line and they’re going to reveal Rockruff has another the same time they reveal those three.
I think this would be the best way to do it, but we all know the pokemon company and gamefreak loves to have us trade and interact with one another.
My money is still on having two unique moves. Making the same Pokemon in different versions have different move pools would be more effort than it’s worth.
It will probably just be exclusive tutors you meet in the story or TMs
Everything is amazing so far! This is the only gen where i like all three starter evos they look awesome, the concept art did not do them justice, AND CYNTHIA do i even need to explain!
