The funny thing is that Tigers do have large paws, but not to the point where they’re a feature than needs to be exaggerated. The paws aren’t a tiger’s defining feature. That would be the muscular and lean body structure, stripes/coloration, and the patterning on the face. This design has failed tigers on the most basic level.

Probably Jolly or Timid for Decidueye. I predict it to be fast but not fast enough to outspeed things that do its job better.

I’m not keen on the ‘eye’ part, but using the word ‘deciduous’ in a Pokemon name is indeed long overdue.
I think it’s suits the Pokemon. Quite free people think good Pokemon names are good puns, but decidueye’s name sounds slightly haunting in terms of timbre which I think really suits it.

World building is an essential part of storytelling.
It’s fine for side characters, but if it’s not plot relevant then main characters don’t require it and it shouldn’t be given more attention than necessary.
Well, if done properly, relationships have a ton to offer to the story. Just because the story is about pokemon doesn’t mean it cannot be about anything else. By that argument, having a mom, rival, heck even villain serves no “purpose” since none of these directly influence gameplay.
Having a parent serves a purpose, they help to instruct the trainer and help to legitimise the trainer’s presense and make the world seem more real (a 10 year old living alone would be very strange and unnatural).
The rival exists to challenge the trainer and push them to do their best, as adversaries have done in stories since ancient times.
The villain exists to give the trainer an obstacle to overcome and another purpose to strive to fulfil.
Relationships do nothing. One character loves another, so what? Unless the character is acting because of those feelings (e.g. the old trope of doing bad things to resurrect a dead lover) then the relationship should stay on the sidelines.

Without plot and lore the world is just an empty shell. Without the plot there is no objective. There are a few side matters that are of little consequence, but the majority of factors affecting main characters contribute to the plot.
Again, unless a relationship is actively affecting the plot it’s not really necessary.

In the Skull trailer, there was dialogue between Kukui and Guzma, and one particular thing Guzma said basically implied Kukui used to be in Team Skull.
They used to know each other as I think they attempted the Island trial together and failed, if i remember correctly. Him being in Team Skull might be interesting as long as it doesn’t play out like a cliche.
