- Decidueye is Rowlet’s final evolution, Grass/Ghost. New signature move Spirit Shackle prevents foe from switching out
- Incineroar is Litten’s final evolution, Fire/Dark. New signature move Darkest Lariat ignores foe’s stat changes
- Primarina is Popplio’s final evolution, Water/Fairy. New signature move Sparkling Aria heals the burns of those it hits
- Akala Island’s Guardian Deity is Tapu Lele (Psychic/Fairy)
- Ula’Ula Island’s Guardian Deity is Tapu Bulu (Grass/Fairy)
- Poni Island’s Guardian Deity is Tapu Fini (Water/Fairy)
- Tapu Pokémon share a unique Z-Move called Guardian of Alola
- Cosmog is a Psychic-type Pokémon with ability Unaware
- Alolan Persian is pure Dark-type
- Alola is still in the process of building a Pokémon League

Decidueye (weird name) is a grass/ghost but looks like a grass/flying
Incineroar is a fire/dark but looks like a fire/fighting
I like both their designs more than Primarina, but they definitely coulda done something different for them to look like their actual type.
But so far gameplay-wise I like pretty much everything that i’m seeing. Its nice to see Red n Blue back in it. Hopefully the game will have a lot to do. Thats one of the reasons Gold/Silver and Black/White were my favorites

It was the most boring region since Kanto, and I mean the region itself, that’s not even counting the stunted storyline.
I have to disagree. It felt chill, laidback, and Lumiose City is awesome.
Aside from the giant crystal sundail it had nothing of interest.
Lumiose City was a mess.
It had many places to see but it just seemed bland
It had places, but like Kanto they just weren’t that interesting.
Most of the towns were lacking, the ice cave felt like just another ice cave, the sea spirit den was just a cave on an island, geosenge was wrecked for good after the storyline, shalour was over so fast I forgot it even had a tower, coumarine was forgettable…
Frankly the only interesting bits were the Anistar Sundial, the Laverre Tree, the League building, the Tower Of Mastery and Aquacorde.
Loads of locations had potential but they killed them Parfum Palace and Camphrier Town could have ben stuffed with lore and battles, but instead they’re just short stops where nothing happens.
You know you’re struggling when a trip to a museum is the highlight of the entire coastal zone.
And battle tree!!!
Kalos won’t happen. I want it so bad. But it won’t.

I think Kalos is the weakest region by far. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to go back to it. Especially in a Gen II fashion where everyone is aged a bit and things are different and you travel through the region differently. No one is asking for them to just cut and paste X and Y into the game.
They wouldn’t have had time to revamp it with all the other stuff they’ve added.
And Kanto in G2 still wasn’t that impressive. If they’re going to revamp they’d have much more to work with in other regions.
I agree they haven’t had too much time, which is why I don’t, on any level, expect there to be a Kalos post-game. But I’d still like it.
I agree that Kanto in Johto wasn’t overly amazing. But it was cool seeing the same region through a different lense.
It seems it’s possible by end of game we still won’t have a league or battle frontier.. . so maybe the next game gets both?

I’m still laughing at how people hated Popplio from the start and now it is singing “Rise” like I am fabulous.
I liked Popplio at the start. But every evolution step made dislike it more and more.
I just feel like I am the opposite. I loved Litten first because cats are my second favorite animal in the world and I knew it would turn into something I wouldn’t like and lose the cat vibe so I chose popplio as I have a slight fear of owls.
Tbh I can see why, designs like Popplio3 are pretty marmite, they either work for people or they don’t, not really having an in between
I think it was more to do with I anticipated Popplio to turn into compared to what it actually turned out as, if that makes sense. My expectations got the better of me

They have done an outstanding job with the starters in this gen! I love them all, they’re all very unique in their own way so its a hard choice to pick between them because they really do stand out and look amazing, only times I’ve felt that way about all 3 starters was in gen 3 and 6. Even so Litten was my first choice here and I have no regrets with this decision the in game model just makes me love it that much more tbh, when first seeing its hand movements I couldn’t help but think “so you wanna dance pal?” really though I think Incineroar has one of the best designs ever, he’s in a tie for my favorite starter between Delphox and Blaziken. Now with Decidueye his animation is awesome too, I love how it appears like he is dusting himself off, always stay classy Mr. Owl <3 him being part Ghost is very interesting was a little surprised to see them changing the typing but it wasn't a bad surprise imo, I love both his and Incineroar's expressions. Then there's Primarina who is absolutely gorgeous. Many things could be said about them but I don't have a negative comment about any. I know that everyone's going to have a different opinion which is perfectly alright, these aren't going to be for everyone and there's nothing wrong with that, I just hope that those who don't like these designs will be able to find something, anything that they can come to love about the games. Lastly the music is phenomenal actually ended up getting some chills and its great to see all of these characters again! 😀 Red is a person of so many words as always but its what makes him him which is nice that they kept that part of him xD I'm so excited for these games that its hard to contain myself we're so close to getting to play!!

Though I get that Decidueye is ghostly in that it’s silent and has a creepy stare, it lacks the wispiness I associate with ghost types. It doesn’t look like it would be immune to normal and fighting types, like gengar or mismagius do.
