The article below contains spoilers for Pokémon Sun & Moon.
We have chosen not to publish any images obtained from the demo version and as such the information below is a text rundown of what has been uncovered. The comment section of this article will also contain spoilers.
The demo version of Pokémon Sun & Moon is currently live in some regions and some avid trainers have gotten to work uncovering everything the demo has to offer.
It seems that lessons haven’t been learned from Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire and the demo files contain information on some currently unannounced Pokémon and over information. It’s unknown if the demo contains files for all new Pokémon in the games, though at this point it seems almost definite.
Leaked Information
Alolan Forms
The demo contains files confirming the existence of many more Alolan Pokémon:
- Geodude, Graveler and Golem
- Diglett and Dugtrio
- Persian
New Pokémon & Ultra Beasts
- There are at least five new Ultra Beasts, bringing the total to 8
- The leaked Starter Pokémon evolutions are real
- Pikipek appears to evolve into a toucan Pokémon in it’s final stage
- Crabrawler, Wimpod, Morelull and Salandit all receive evolutions
- Solgaleo and Lunala both have a pre evolution/lesser form
- A new Pokémon that appears to be based on an anchor
- A new Pokémon and it’s evolution that were previously leaked by an Amazon listing for the upcoming Sun & Moon TCG expansion
- Another two Pokémon evolution line that appears to be part Bug type
- Marshadow is a real Pokémon, but doesn’t look anything like Solgaleo or Lunala
- Magearna has a form that looks more like a traditional Poké Ball
- Ash Pikachu is in the game and appears to be able to wear Ash’s hat from each region of the anime
- [NEW] The Pokémon models found within the demo are only from Pokémon found in the Alola Pokédex
[NEW] Pokémon Moves
- It seems there are a total of 719 moves in the games, by comparison Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire had 621
- 3 of these new moves appear to be taught via TM
- 29 of the new moves are Z-Moves (18 Z-Moves for each type and 11 special Z-Moves)
- HMs no longer exist and are not available as a regular TM
[NEW] Items
- There are 920 items present in the demo, 58 of which are related to Z-Moves
- A new medicinal item similar to Lava Cookie that cures all
- A new battle item with held effect (like Dire Hit)
- At least 6 new holdable items with effects
- A Key Item that is likely used to change Zygarde forms
- 3 items that are used to change forms
- Bikes and Travel Trunks (an unused key item) are not in the demo/games
- The Strange Souvenir item data appears unchanged in the games
- 1 new type of Poké Ball
- It appears the new ball cannot be bought or sold

Also I feel like I’m the only one who loves Alolan Persian. Easily my favourite Alolan form. I hope they have hidden abilities though cause I’d like to use Alolan Sandslash or Ninetales on my team, but “Snow Cloak” is just so useless on non-hail teams and I won’t be building a hail team just to use them.
At first, it looked off to me, but now that I think I understand why it’s designed that way, I like it 🙂

How I think it’s designed? It’a meant to be like Purugly, in a way. Because it was spoiled so much, it doesn’t change much from its Meowth days but get bigger.
It becomes a real persian cat. You know it is raised by a high class family, so it becomes a clean-bred animal.
Does anyone have any idea what that new Spider Pokemon is based upon?
Nope, but it’s probably the creepiest pokemon I’ve ever seen

Still hope that this is just a part of the alolan dex. The little amount of pokemon is dissapointing but i hope the gameplay can cover this up.

On a more positive note the things that I actually liked from the leaks:
1. Salandit’s evo
2. Wimpod’s evo
3. Rowlet’s shiny excites me a lot, those are some of my favorite colors on my favorite starter
4. I can’t wait to get a shiny Ribombee
5. Toucan looks good
6. I love the new UBs, I’m glad there’s so many. I think UB08 will be near the final boss of the game, it looks beastly, plus IT HAS A GALAXY IN IT’S MOUTH

I think they all use at least one new pokemon. We saw crabrowler and Licanrock so I thought maybe the other rwo have one new pokemon of their type.
We have Bruxish (Water/Psychic).
There is also Oranguru but he is a version exclusive.

Well although I’m not done with the demo, I wanna talk about what I love so far!
1.RIDING ON POKEMON FINALLY OMG!!! When I got the riding stuff I’m thinking “wait, can I actually ride this where ever? Then I hopped on and I just started smiling as I rode through the town. I’m so glad they finally did it the way we’ve wanted since Red/Blue (also I like how you have the riding gear on when you encounter a pokemon)
2. Plumeria is pretty awesome
3. Team Skull is hilarious and I love them. They seem to just enjoy being ganstas and they are perfect.
4.I’m building an army of yungoos.
5. The new battle interface is great. The short cut for pokeballs is great. Will make catching legendaries a bit less annoying
6. I think it is so funny how when Hankamo-o comes running at you the trainer just has this dopey grin on his face like a 5-6 ft dragon raptor monster isn’t about to slaughter him.
Wait, is there any way you can catch mons?
Yeah! After you do the trial you break the rock riding Tauros then you do a mini mission where you catch a ton of Yungoos and Pikipeks
But I mean, can you actually get them out of there

7. Once you have a full team you have the option to put the next pokemon caught into it and send the other away.

There’s not too much here, so it could very well be, albeit unlikely.
I don’t think this is the complete dex just because there’s only like 6 3-stage families (not including starters), which isn’t really a lot… And because there’s really no ice or dark types from what I can see that aren’t Alolan forms.
Crabarrabwler’s evo is assumed to be ice. And some other Pokemon can be Dark type as well.

Something about 7 sprites not being in the code. And some people are saying its totem pokemon, some say it’s missing pokemon.
I don’t see how it could be totems TBH. These are stills from the pokedex, not the in game models.
I think they say it’s totem because they are after ones we know of totems, and one is between Raticate and Spearow, and those are next to each other in the dex

I reeally wanted Pikipek to be blue and white. That’s just insult to injury. There were some pretty good shinies though. I love how Lunaala is a blood moon.

Komala HAS to evolve – it just HAS to. Ribombee id also really like to see evolve
I think Ribombee will have a pre-evolution, and will be the second evolution of Cutiefly. Notice how Cutiefly has one ring on it’s wings, Ribombee has three rings… It’s possible that there is a evolution between the two, and will have two rings. Much like Fletchling had one stripe, and when it finally evolved into Talonflame it had three stripes. There have been others but I think you get the point. This is just my theory anyways.

Most likely they do have evos but either they weren’t in the leaks or the data miners didn’t want to spoil ALL the pokemon.
