We have chosen not to publish any images obtained from the demo version and as such the information below is a text rundown of what has been uncovered. The comment section of this article will also contain spoilers.
The demo version of Pokémon Sun & Moon is currently live in some regions and some avid trainers have gotten to work uncovering everything the demo has to offer.
It seems that lessons haven’t been learned from Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire and the demo files contain information on some currently unannounced Pokémon and over information. It’s unknown if the demo contains files for all new Pokémon in the games, though at this point it seems almost definite.
Leaked Information
Alolan Forms
The demo contains files confirming the existence of many more Alolan Pokémon:
- Geodude, Graveler and Golem
- Diglett and Dugtrio
- Persian
New Pokémon & Ultra Beasts
- There are at least five new Ultra Beasts, bringing the total to 8
- The leaked Starter Pokémon evolutions are real
- Pikipek appears to evolve into a toucan Pokémon in it’s final stage
- Crabrawler, Wimpod, Morelull and Salandit all receive evolutions
- Solgaleo and Lunala both have a pre evolution/lesser form
- A new Pokémon that appears to be based on an anchor
- A new Pokémon and it’s evolution that were previously leaked by an Amazon listing for the upcoming Sun & Moon TCG expansion
- Another two Pokémon evolution line that appears to be part Bug type
- Marshadow is a real Pokémon, but doesn’t look anything like Solgaleo or Lunala
- Magearna has a form that looks more like a traditional Poké Ball
- Ash Pikachu is in the game and appears to be able to wear Ash’s hat from each region of the anime
- [NEW] The Pokémon models found within the demo are only from Pokémon found in the Alola Pokédex
[NEW] Pokémon Moves
- It seems there are a total of 719 moves in the games, by comparison Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire had 621
- 3 of these new moves appear to be taught via TM
- 29 of the new moves are Z-Moves (18 Z-Moves for each type and 11 special Z-Moves)
- HMs no longer exist and are not available as a regular TM
[NEW] Items
- There are 920 items present in the demo, 58 of which are related to Z-Moves
- A new medicinal item similar to Lava Cookie that cures all
- A new battle item with held effect (like Dire Hit)
- At least 6 new holdable items with effects
- A Key Item that is likely used to change Zygarde forms
- 3 items that are used to change forms
- Bikes and Travel Trunks (an unused key item) are not in the demo/games
- The Strange Souvenir item data appears unchanged in the games
- 1 new type of Poké Ball
- It appears the new ball cannot be bought or sold

Is UBs are based on characters debate still going on? Because one of the UBs look like Guzma. Lel.
The fact that there ever was a debate about it makes me laugh tbh. Their French names are Ultra Chimeras for crying out loud
But I believe the point of origin of design of UBs might have something to do with characters in game. Not a story-wise thing though.
This UB, for instance ,even has three legs like Guzma.
Yes, they are humans but also Pokemon. Hence why they have shinies, but wont be catchable.

I’m being a smart ass cause it seems people all over the Internet are shocked by the lack of gimmick evos.
The lack of one new ice line where ice is present the whole time makes me think we’re missing pokemon.
But I also don’t think this leak was on purpose as a part of marketing. It’s making them looking bad and sloppy.
So… since Diamond and Pearl introduced so many new evolutions of old Pokémon, will the remakes do the same this gen?
Gosh I hope so. Heliolisk and so many others could benefit from that treatment.

I will say that I really like Crabrawlers evo. I didnt like it before I knew it evolved but if it really turns into an ice type I will be using it.
IF Litten3 is Fire/Fighting, I might have to go for Popplio in Moon. I have serious issues with Fire/Fighting starters. Infernape is the only one thats actually good.

I’m pretty sure it will be dark. Because Rowlet would have an advantage over litten3 meaning(if it is a fairy type) Popplio and Rowlet would be better choices for starters over all. But, I’ve seen GF make some odd decisions before… (Looking at you, Alolan Diglett)
Rowlet lines remains Grass/Flying imo.
The fairy part is meant for Pop3

Oh right. But Popplio is already strong against Litten anyway. If Litten3 is Fire/Dark and Popplio3 Water/Fairy, Fairy moves wouldn’t be supereffective because Fairy moves are not effective against Fire

because yokai watch sold more units than pokemon last year, and every one saw yokai watch as a serious threat to pokemon because of its wide expanding popularity, and it seems that pokemon saw it as a threat as well,…also yokai watch also a collect monster game, but their mosnters looks so ridicoules and so humanoid

Yokai Watch also does not have international appeal as the creatures are based on Japanese Yokai which people aren’t as familiar with in other parts of the world. It is a new property HEAVILY advertised by Nintendo. It is going to do well, but it can’t overtake Pokemon.
it came out internationaly like 1 year after the japanese release, and I was talking about the japanese sales, ofc Yo kai watch is not a threat to pokemon, but bear in mind that what you think is not a big of a deal to you can be something serous to the creators of pokemon.
I also cant find any other explantion to why so many pokemon, espacially alolan forms look like this, like they even managed to make goofly looking pokemon look even goofier than before, like dugtrio, these hair cuts than so many pokemon have now was never a pokemo nthing, even Jynx wich is based on humans didnt have a hair cut or anything like that.
Just because you don’t know why the Alolan forms don’t look good (most of them are actually good. See Ninetails,Sandslash and Marowak) doesn’t mean it is because of Yokai Watch. If you slow down and stop jumping to “YOKAI WATCH IS KILLING POKEMON” And look at the facts then you will know that Pokemon isn’t going anywhere. Mario didn’t die when other platformers came out.

> Tbh, it takes a lot of effort to make a separate demo that isn’t based on the complete game. That’s extra time that is best to utilize for actual development for the final product. So it’s impractical from programming standpoint, although it comes with the downside of basically revealing details from the finished product.

I’ve been asking the same question. They’re literally just regular Pokemon with increased stats. I dont see why they would have seperate dex entries.

The real question is: why only 6 pokemon have the totem models? I mean I can see, Normal, Grass, Dragon, Electric, Ghost and Fire. Are these all the trials? Those actually match the captains we have except for Dragon (the ghost captain is the creepy girl seen in the demo video)

Well it may or may not. IDK. I’m not a developer. But from what I’ve known Alolan Raticate has question mark after it, Gumshoos has question mark after it, Lurantis has question mark after it. I can’t check if I forgot one but at least these three are confirmed to be a totem Pokemon.
And, the one after Raticate is before Spearow, and they are right next to each other in the Dex
There’s one after raticate in the dex of Kanto Pokemon.
Those questions marks seem to follow the totem pokemon (Lurantis, Gumshoos, Kammo-o and some not yer revealed. Those are probably their totem models (2 for mimikyu because of its ability)
I still feel like there’s more. There’s so much evidence leading to the fact that we haven’t seen everything

Can someone clarify for me please. I’m seeing mixed things about what was leaked. Is this the full list of new and alola Pokémon, or are there still some we don’t know about?

That would be great! I like a lot of what I’m seeing but if this is it, it would feel like a huge missed opportunity for a cool concept in alola forms and a huge new game with new in game structure to have so few new Pokémon.
A lot of people think this is the full pokedex, but some (like me) believe there are more that we dont know of yet
If you watch a Verlisify video, I know I dunno why I watch them but I still od the guy has good ideas when it comes to trailer breakdowns, he points out what seems to be a rabbit with pink ears and blaack tips, now most believe it’s a Snubble, but it’s not clear, and that clearly hasn’t been leaked, so if that does exist
I actually pointed out the rabbit with pink ears weeks ago. Like I said, I really don’t think that this is the full dex. I think GF purposely added these unrevealed mons (the final starter evos are among them, and Masuda confirmed them as real 2 days ago) as sort of free marketing and to catch us offguard.

It would have been amazing if Water Compaction gave it a Water immunity. Or even cut Water damage by half. But unfortunately doesn’t seem that way. Still love the Pokemom though.
