  1. I really wish they’d given Malva a bigger role to play. As a team flare member, she could’ve been very useful to plot and might’ve added a different perspective on Flare’s philosophy

    • I miss Itoi.
Mother was a good series, even if it was completely weird.

Then again, I dread to think what kind of pokemon he’d want.

      • I want to see what he would do. I wouldn’t want him in charge of the whole series, just have him do one game.

I actually wish some of Earthbounds mechanics were in Pokémon though. When the first gameplay trailer was shown I didn’t see any grass and I thought Pokémon were seeable in the over world like in Mother. I like that so much more than random encounters

        • If you’re praying for magypsies and kissing fishmen, they wouldn’t let him go that crazy.

I wouldn’t mind some of the sunflower fields, dinosaur attack, and salsa’s storyline though.

I’m half and half on that because it would mean exiting the area to generate more pokemon. It would be nice to have some kind of sneak mechanic or something.

One upon a time (back in the good old days of sprites) I thought about having battles with the player and pokemon overworld sprites on the overworld and having the attack graphics on the overworld. Sort of like pokemon mystery dungeon in a way.

(I’d draw the line at quicktime events though, I like pokemon being lazy and pure stats and strategy.)

          • Same, never really understood the fuss tbh. Seems to have a lot of problems too from what I hear. I have also heard some good stuff being done through it but it is outweighed by the bad.

          • I just don’t like how everyone uses it for everything, same as facebook.

“Oh no, we couldn’t be bothered to set up a professional website to sell our stuff, we just piggy backed off facebook and twitter”

“Want more news? Well we don’t have a news website, we a facebook or twitter account and use that instead”

          • Websites and web design do cost money, for some smaller businesses they provide a valuable platform for free.

          • Yeah, but using facebook and twitter isolates customers who don’t want to use those and puts web designers out of business, just like how not providing a phone service isolates much of the older generations.

As much as web devs annoy me, I appreaciate that their job is quite hard and they deserve the money. Heck, anyone willing to put up with that monstrocity known as Javascript deserves money.

          • Using the internet at all isolates some potential customers. I do think if a company can afford it they should have their own site, but then you also have to think about how to get people to know you have a site, which brings it back to social media sites.

          • Yeah, but you can use other things along side it like the phone service I mentioned (and I mean actual phone calls, not texting or ‘apps’).

Social media sites wouldn’t work on people like me though who tend not to use the main ones.

It depends on the product, in many cases they’d be better off targetting specific communities like certain forums. Targeting other places would mean less competition too.

It’s other stuff too though, like that news example I gave. A company doing news on the television should be able to afford their own website to provide extra news with instead of having to get a 3rd party company like facebook involved.

  2. New preview of the anime:
    – Ash, Delia, Mr.Mime, and the others all head to Alola
    – Ash is enrolled in the Pokemon School
    – Professor Samuel Oak is just as cringe-worthy as Oak, but even more so
    – Professor Kukui is just as hot if not hotter
    – Mallow seems like a GOOD mix of Misty and Iris: strong, independent, Ash-like, and competent
    – Ash seems just as competent as ever, but with more character which I love

          • its stale, we had it for 3 generations in a row, when we could have gotten something unique. the problem with it, though, is that all fire starters from gen 3 onward (with the exception of delphox, which is why its my favorite fire starter) are big, burly brawler rough and toughlooking pokemon. I want something sleek, majestic, beautiful.

          • I liked Blazekin and Infernape, as long as they’re good designs and concepts I don’t mind, but the wrestler is disgusting.

          • I don’t think they look bad, I just think the concept is getting stale. Delphox was clearly a mage, someone that uses their mind instead of their muscle. it was a nice change of pace.

          • And then we got Fire/Psychic and everyone complained about that.

Besides, we’ve had 3 pure water types and 3 pure grass types and nobody complains about them.

Blaziken isn’t burly, it’s lanky, same as Infernape. Only Tony and Emboar are muscular. Most of the final forms of the starters look tough.

There’s never been a sleek, majestic fire starter and there probably won’t be since those things don’t often go with fire.

          • A type isn’t everything: people didn’t complain at the lack of the fighting type, they complained at the bad design.

          • I liked the design, but the point is they tried to do something different and people still got upset. It’s like the fire starter is doomed to be disliked.

          • I loved delphox. everyone complained for… well I don’t really know. If we are talking about fire starters, yeah, they look tough. pokemon like meganium, serperior, delphox, and chances are popplio3 aren’t so tough looking though.
fire isn’t beautiful? look at pokemon like ninetails, rapidash, arcanine, moltres, ho-oh, reshiram, chandelure, pyroar, etc. theres plenty of opportunity for something like beauty in fire.

          • I think all the starters look tough, not just fire ones. Serperior, Meganium, Feraligatr, Blastoise, even the dreaded Samurott.

There’s a difference between beautiful and ‘sleek and majestic’. I never said they couldn’t be beautiful, but sleek and majestic aren’t really fire traits.

          • that staff was in the shape of Kommo-o’s tail. hes had so many things that are waaaay too close to be considered cold reading.

          • I’m in no way doubting his knowledge on certain things, he definitely has inside info, but he may not know everything.

          • honestly id be surprised if any leaker knew everything. it seems he has way more knowledge on the creatures themselves than features and npcs.

          • Ehh, I said this before, but there is some debate on what he got wrong, manly the type list. It seems that the reddit poster got some of the numbers wrong in the translation, be it typo’s or what. I haven’t gone back to the original list to check, but I wouldn’t hold that against him just yet.

          • Hmm. Well personally I don’t really like the riddler’s leaking method. It’s a bunch of obscure clues that don’t get solved until after the reveal, so what’s the point? Gotta wait for the reveal anyway and then go back and be like ohhhhhh!

          • Exactly, it’s better to just not know anything.

Espeically the last few times, the thing for Jangmo-o’s evos barely even resembled Jangmo-o’s tail.

          • And it could be said that those who consistently argue against his leaks are those who so desperately want him to be proven a fake who got impossibly lucky.

          • And there’s nobody impartial to break the tie, so the arguments will continue until eternity.

I don’t contest he got some things right in the early days, but then there was a style shift and things fell apart.

          • I can agree with this: he’s getting things right, but the leaks have gotten more and more vague, even though they still have validity.

          • Agreed. They are getting a bit too hard to determine, though that seems largely because their going into more and more obscure feature of the pokemon to prove their validity, then the obvious things.

In any case we know that the demo’s going to get data mined in a few days, so We’ll be able to confirm the last of his leaks soon enough.

          • Yeah, I lost interest after the format change. It’s like he’s stopped trying and is just basking in the fleeting fame instead.

And the latest one is even worse than last time. A spout of fire and a seal marking?

Plus he keeps changing things around.
If he’d stuck to just individually teasing pokemon and not trying to ambiguously indicate the pokemon is related so something else like with pyukumuku then I’d be more inclined to take an interest, but at the moment, paying attention to his leeks give me no more insight than ignoring them, hence they are a waste of time.

          • No, but that there “somebody”. It could very well be me, you, or just some random guy. The point is their word isn’t the be-all and end-all — They could still be wrong.

      • I still think it is too, here’s my theory:
        Rowlet:
        – Sun: Continues to be snooty
        – Moon: Archer
        Litten:
        – Sun: Quadraped
        – Moon: Wrestler
        Popplio
        – Sun: Continues to be performer
        – Moon: Siren

  4. I think these are the worst Elite four members so far. They had potential but Gamefreak decided to give them nothing but a half assed backstory. Another reason that the only thing good to come from x and y was the fossils and wondertrade

  5. So I was thinking that for a nickname for Silvally I’d use an anagram of Arceus, and I just noticed that “Caesur” is an anagram. It’s not perfect, but it’s close enough. xD

      • Definitely! I appreciate all the help ^_^ I varied it, I didn’t want one team to go through too much and have counters eventually coming. So for like 5-7 battles I would use Durant, Cloyster, Khan, then switch it around to Durant, Talonflame, M-Gyarados, and then switch around again to Durant, Cloyster, M-Blaziken. But for the home stretch, I really wanted to get the Chatelaine Ribbon on my 3rd Shiny Altaria, so for 40-50, I used Durant, Talonflame, and Mega Altaria, resting my hope in it xD And damn in one battle did it hold on with 6 HP after the opposing Steelix held on with Sturdy 😀

        • oh I’m so happy for you! mega altaria is my baby. I love her, shes my favorite mega evolution but mines normal (I like the color better). how did you train yours?

          Reply
          • It’s my baby as well! 😀 <3 Favorite Pokemon of all time, I bred 3 Shiny ones each different competitively (I'm the opposite, I like the shiny better haha xD) Swagold (Calm nature) was my first bred, and she was also the first to obtain that ribbon. Next I bred Altair (Modest nature and was also breeding for HP Ground, and luckily that worked out perfect!), and she was the second to obtain the ribbon. So last up I bred Shen (Impish King DDD set up), and now he has the ribbon as well ^_^

          • Alltareeuh is an impish nature, perfect IV’s with 252 evs in hp and sp.def (the rest of my team has access to burn and intimidate to patch up that def.) she knows Dragon Dance, Roost, Return, and Earthquake

          • I forget how I EV trained my Impish one, but my moveset is the same with one exception! I gave him Facade instead of Return!

  6. Most desired feature for G6:
YYYY/MM/DD date format so I don’t have to stop and think “am I looking at the month or the day?”.
