  1. Anyone think Kommo-o should’ve been named Jarangmo-o
i like the names Jangmo-o, Hakamo-o but Kommo-o just sounds like a mouth turd

  2. Initially I thought that you could beat the kahuna after defeating all the captains, but clearly it’s not like this and seeing 26 as level for the second Kahuna, I was wondering…there will be in your opinion actual Elite Four at the end of the game like the Chinese leaker said?

    Reply
    • I literally say you have to complete all the trials on the island in order to fight the kahuna. And when you beat them, you move to the next island.

          • I know a guy that was born in the middle of the Amazon Jungle, and he speaks a few languages, but he’s really fluent in Portuguese. 😀

          • You know the population of Brazil started with the Portuguese right? It’s not like there was already a country there per say (only indians) and they colonized it and brought the language, Brazilians were Portuguese and used to speak the same language, which I have to mention wasn’t similar to the Portuguese spoken in Portugal nowadays.

          • Yeah, but it’s another Britain-America situation, and I side with Britain on that one, so to be fair I have to side with Portugal on this one.

And there were 7 million people when the Portuguese arrived, that’s still a large amount, even if they were just warring tribes. (And ‘Indian’ is a dated term that’s not considered applicable anymore).

          • First of all, indian is the term we use in Brazil to talk about the indigenous tribes, I don’t care about “native americans” or whatever you guys call them in your countries, we’re talking about Brazil here. There were not 7 million of them in Brazil, maybe in South America, but definitely not in Brazil. And most of them died anyway, they only represent 2% of the population nowadays. American English is the standard nowadays too, but there are less different between the two versions of English than between Brazilian and Portuguese Portuguese. (grammatically both version are almost the same, it’s mostly the pronunciation that changes)

          • American English isn’t the standard yet, there is no global English standard, it’s still per-country. And there are grammatical differences between those too.

  4. Oh my gosh Olivia is Fierce as heck, see me with them hands girl! And I just love Tsareena!
I thought Alolan grime was cool, Alolan Muk can choke to death for all I care.
Also I think I was right, Ilima is a guy and seems really cool

  5. SILVALLY’s name originated from SILLICON VALLEY, home to many big technological companies; Silvally is a synthetic pokemon

    mind=blown

  6. it seems like people are confused on wether ilima is a boy or a girl, its seems that ilima is a hawaiian name for girls, so thankfully she is a girl

  7. Had an idea for Ice/Poison Grimer/Muk, yellow Snow. Atop snow covered mountains Pokémon eat certain berries and plants only found in these conditions. The combination of these produce certain toxins that are expelled through urine, which freezes as it hits the snow. When the rays of the moon hit this, and there are enough of the Toxins present, Yellow Snow Grimer is born! Abilty Stench/Aftermath.

  8. My mind is blown! I’m so happy! So manny new Pokemon! I know we all talked “trash” about the new Grimer form but Alolan Muk is fucking incredible! I loveeee it and will probably use it on my main team my first play through

  9. I think Grimer and Muk have cool designs, but just like the all the other Alola forms, it could’ve just been made into a totally new pokemon. I really like Jangmo-o’s evolutions, nice strong design for a cool pokemon. but Bounsweet is ???. I thought my thoughts on the pokemon could’ve been saved if the rumor about it turning into a grass/fire pepper plant were true but nope. Instead it turns from a Hoppip/Cherubi look alike to something very underwhelming. They could’ve done better with that

      • It was one of the 4chan “leaks” lol. And idk I just don’t like it. I was looking for something badass, but instead it just looks like a weak version of Liligant. But as long as we get a lot more new pokemon i’m fine.

        Reply
        • 4chan’s been spreading the “we’re definately getting a Fire/Grass pepper plant” thing since Gen 3 😛

          What makes it weak?
We don’t even know any stats yet.
It might not fully evolve until level 50 or something.

          Reply
          • Weak as in design wise, i don’t really care about stats too much. I mean its not the worst i’ve seen this generation so i’m not really mad bout it or anything.

          • How does its design look weak though?
I don’t get it, I thought its design looked like the plant equivalent of a tough russian tsarina.

          • I don’t know if this is what qolf was talking about, but pure grass-types suck. Their typing is terrible, they usually need a secondary type to make them competitively viable. Liligant, for example, great special-attacker, but terrible movepool and can be taken down easily. Bounsweet’s evo looks very much like Liligant

          • Pretty sure it was about the design.
At this point I’m only considering designs anyway, types and stats don’t matter until competative, the game itself is never as harsh as competative because the AI can’t beat human strategy yet.

It does look a bit like Lilligant, but then so does Bellossom.

I must admit, I wish they’d fix Grass type to be less weak.

I don’t see why Grass should be weak to flying for one thing, the others make sense, but Flying doesn’t. And some of the things that resist it are silly, there’s no reason Bug or Poison need to resist Grass as well as be strong against it.

          • Other than the Calyx on top of its head and different color scheme, its not too far off from Lilligant. Nothing wrong with it, I was just hoping for something i’ve never seen before

        • I find the lack of Gyms to be the downside. I would not consider this a great title to the main series with out Pokemon Gyms. Collecting the badges, defeating Team Skull, and making your mark in the Hall of Fame would be my major elements in the main story line. And seriously, Ash attending school and change in the animation, I think they are asking for trouble. However, as long as they have more than 100 new Pokemon (including cross-gen evolutions), I wouldn’t have to worry about any story line in the Pokemon Main Series.

          • Facts. and No Gyms is kind of a bummer, but i don’t really like the idea of having a Team every game. Its stale to me. It got repetitive when Diamond/Pearl came around. Then Black and White did something different which was fun. But Team Flame aren’t memorable at all. I don’t mind them trying out new things, as long as they work. Will the new ideas in this game actually work? Im not sure

          • It’s pronounced Team Flare. I did kind of find it interesting that Lysandre went out with a bang. As long as I am able to challenge gyms AS WELL AS take on the Kahunas in the game, I will give it a try. I am hoping that there are two Gyms in each island.

          • 2 gyms on each island would make sense. and yeah team Flare* I don’t really remember much about them. Didn’t really stick out to me in a good way. I didn’t pronounce anything wrong, I just got the name switched up lol

  10. I love rainbow sherbet Muk! This might be my favorite group of reveals so far. And dear sweet lord just let me have agender Ilima please.

    • I like Alola Grimer a little more now that I know those weird buck teeth are rocks instead, adds more character to the design.

  11. The in-game footage has made me like Hakamo-o and Kommo-o a lot more. So they are staying on my team indefinitely now.
I am pleasantly surprised by Bounsweets evolutions and actually really like them. Especially Tsareena, that ability making it immune to TalonFalme bravebirds is a God send for a grass type.

Silvadi (yes, this name is better than Sillvally) is whatever. I’m not really interested in it. Granted it has the potential to be a top tier OU threat.

New trial Captain seems really boring. But the new Kahuna is cool enough they could have at least shown the second Guardian Pokemon as well, but whatever.

All in all a decent reveal. And also Coro Coro has become obsolete for Pokemon news. I like this new method of periodic official reveals.

    • We’ll you missed out one detail. Tsareena would only be immune to Flying-type moves if Talonflame has the ability Gale Wings. And FIY, Kahuna Olivia looks rather smoking hot *growls*, just as attractive as Hilda from Black/White.

  12. It must have been said before but

AR System + RKS System = ARRKS = Arceus
    Alpha-System = Alpha Pokemon

It was obvious that Pokémon often spoken of in mythology that Type:Null was going to rival was Arceus after it has been revelaed that Silvally has the same ability and same type changing move thing going on with Arceus.

It is a very strange Pokemon though. I wonder the story behiind it. Who would create a Pokemon from different parts of other Pokemon in order to rival Arceus? That sounds blasphemous in origin sense.

  13. I have to say that whoever is responsible for the design of the site, well done! This site is so sexy. The movement of the page while the pic stays in the background, the minimalist square look, everything! It looks really sexy on mobile as well.

  14. Right let’s clear something up…

It’s seems like NO ONE can pronounce Silvally’s name correctly.

It is Silv-al-EYE, you know like ally, like this mutha right here breaks its restraints when it trusts you, you know, when it become your ally…

Not Silv-valley, the thing ain’t between two mountains.

    /rantover.

    Reply
      • It’s more the name origin than the pronunciation to be honest.

The name is a merging of SILVer and ALLY, because of the latter it therefore means that it would be pronounced (Silv-al-eye).

Not saying mine is better, but it’s pronunciation comes from it’s root words.

      • Ok so…
        1. It’s pronounced not pronounces.
        2. Where’s your evidence other than people saying it incorrectly?

Just because a bunch of peeps are doing it, doesn’t make it correct.

        Ima fetch my popcorn.

Ps. Also read the comment below

        • I can ask you the same question, smarty pants, wheres your damn evidence that it’s pronounced, the way YOU want it to be pronounced? Huh?. And just so you know, I already know that my spelling is bad, and you know what I don’t care, and I care even less when a know it all such as yourself goes all grammar Nazi on me. And just so you know, I didn’t quite know how to spell the damn word, so I used the auto correct thing, so it is the reason that is was written Pronounces, instead of pronounced, perhaps you should think of that before you go all know it all on some one. Plus it sounds better to say Sil-valley, instead of the way your pronouncing it.

          • @gymleadertori:disqus is 100% right. It’s not pronounced sil•val•lee. It’s pronounced silv•alī. Silvally is a combination of silver and ally. The proof is in its name in other languages:

            French
            Silvallié
            From silver and allié (ally)

            German
            Amigento
From amigo (friend) and argentum (silver)

            Japanese
            シルヴァディ Shiruvadi
            From silver and buddy
