It’s that time of the month again! The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel has just dropped a new trailer for Pokémon Sun & Moon showcasing information on Silvally, Kommo-o and even more Pokémon

New Information

  • Type: Null evolves into Silvally, a Normal type Pokémon. Silvally has the RKS System ability that allows it to change type while holding certain items, it can change to any of the 18 types.
  • Silvally’s new move Multi-Attack matches the Pokémon’s current type
  • Hakamo-o and Kommo-o are Jangmo-o’s evolution. They are both Dragon/Fighting type with the Bulletproof/Soundproof ability
  • Kommo-o has a unique move: Clanging Scales
  • Steenee is Bounsweet’s evolution, which evolves into Tsareena
  • Tsareena has a new ability called Queenly Majesty and move Trop Kick
  • Cutiefly evolves into Ribombee the Bug/Fairy type Pokémon, with the ability Honey Gather/Shield Dust
  • Grimer and Muk both have Alola Forms and are Poison/Dark type
  • Mega Kangaskhan’s ability Parental Bond has been adjusted so that the second move now does 25% damage
  • Olivia is the Kahuna of Akala Island, she specialises in Rock type Pokémon, one of which appears to be Nosepass
  • Ilima is a Trial Captain who specialises in Normal type Pokémon

    hum hi everyone! I’m Evil-Antho! I’ve been stalking the website for the past 2 months now and I’ve been spending all week waiting to appear here during one of the reveals. though I kept getting busy and only getting here once the comment section has been flooded XD
    contrary to popular belief, I am ”not actually evil”. I suck at being evil xD

    You all look like a fun community and I can’t describe the excitement and wonder I’ve been feeling reading about these leaks and rumors in the past couple months. I hope we can get along mwahahahaha!

  6. I just realized; Tsareena is one big Sailor Moon reference. Just check the entry on the Pokemon site.
    Also, I’m torn between using Tsareena or Lurantis as my trusty Grass type.

    53 Pokemon officially revealed (56 if you wanna count UBs)
    12 Alola formes

    For reference, here’s the number we officially knew before launch of each gen:
    Gen 3: 37 of 135
    Gen 4: 30 of 107
    Gen 5: 52 of 156
    Gen 6: 42 of 72

    I kind of hope they wont reveal too many new Pokemon anymore, to keep a bit of surprise still around.

    • It could be relevant as far as forms go to note that XY also had 13 megas revealed pre-release.
      Yeah this was really too many new pokémon to reveal if you ask me, I hope the next reveals are like the past few ones (pokémon-light but feature-heavy).
      In any case I hope we get a decent, or hopefully, substantial amount of new pokémon.
      I have a feeling this will be like XY and we’ll know 70% of the dex before that because GF are asshats like that, but hopefully the final reveal number will be closer to 50-60% (and that’s too high already IMO).

  8. So…I couldn’t help but notice the Lv45 Comfey in the JP trailer 55sec in. That’s a bit…late to be in a team full of fully evolved pokemon… Personally though, I actually don’t mind at all if it doesn’t evolve since I love the design and think it would probably get worse if added to.

    • Are you talking about Pokenchi? I wouldn’t put too much stock in them. Sure we might get something, but they typically show off stuff the general public already knows about as the show is targeted towards young children. Children that may not keep up with the regular releases. So while yes it is possible for new news, I wouldn’t say we are in for anything huge.

Am i the only one that plays the game like its the anime? i make up little story lines on how i catch each member of my team For example i catch my wishiwashy by preventing my litten from eating it or how i run into a fierce jangmo-o that starts a rivalry with my torracat and they battle and bicker every chance they get until eventually they become the best of buds and an amazing battling duo lol Kommo-o and beltigre 🙂

    • I’m planning on basing a story off my Sun and Moon runs, so I’ll probably be doing the same thing.

      Like my character Alba will have to deal with a trio of divas (Popplio3, Salandit and Tsareena) with her Cutiefly being the only sane one.

          • Im so ready for this XD!! we just need a few artist to do the drawings and we can start our own pokejungle comic lol

          • Even if we couldn’t get artists we could all chip in to make stories based off of our characters (seeing as some of us will be making ourselves and others will be establishing characters)! ^^

          • Omg we should actually set this on the forums or even just amongst the different articles for all sorts of people to chip in and stuff! (And letting each other use each others characters for supporting and background characters!) 😀

          • Maybe do it after the games come out so we can send each other pictures of our in game characters (and descriptions of their personality, back story, as well as mentioning anything the in game models can’t portray like being very tall/small or being a bit bigger or thinner than the model) and use our finalised teams?

          • Yea i agree, I cant wait to do this and see the way everyone story pans out. The progression of everyone teams will be awesome and we could do this for every gen

          • I’m really excited for this! All we need is for someone to set up a common place where we can all set it up (hopping from article to article will be hard) and maintain the project easily!

          • Who would make it though? Can’t be me, I’m hopeless with being in charge of threads, usually it ends up unupdated for months XD

          • If someone shows me the ropes ill take care of it when im not at work ( or at work with free time) or not dealing with the kids.

    • Oh, I totally do that as well! I hope Type:Null evolves through happiness, because I love the idea of it evolving because it’s just SO HAPPY that it’s being treated like a part of the team, rather than just an experiment or something.

      • Im still thinking about my Null story line im thinking maybe he was abandoned when i found him kinda like ash and his charmander… then when he finally trust me and evolves he becomes a powerhouse on the team

          • Thank you, pikipek is the thief in the team constantly stealing my stuff which is the reason i caught him. He seen he couldnt catch my grubbin so he decided to just take the whole pokeball after a long chase litten took him out and i decided to bring him aboard even if he’s a klepto who i constantly find hiding stuff he steals in his/Her feathers. (not sure if im gonna get a male or female, depends on the evo).

          • I really love the interteam relationships you’ve got going on! Does Grubbin get his revenge when it evolves and is SE on Pikipek? :p

          • Yea grubbin doesn’t know how to let things go so soon as he got the type advantage he shocks pikipek every chance he gets lol

          • Rockruff is the meaning behind mans best friend and always want my attention, he constantly fights for my approval and even tho litten likes to act like he could careless he gets jealous of him for being so close to me

            Popplio: For young trainers, Litten and Rowlet are more popular either due to being seen as ‘cuter’ or their final evos being ‘cooler’. However, my character (haven’t decided if it’ll actually be me or an OC) chooses Popplio due to a wild misadventure they have (Hala’s Crabrawler decided to pick a fight with a Bewear, and my character decides to use Disarming Voice since its super effective. They slow the Bewear down enough for Crabrawler to beat it) and they set off. Due to being denied so much times, she’s nervous and often stumbles in battle and when showing off. However, my character sees the beauty in her and calls her ‘Aphrodite’. Basically, she evolves and gets over her nerves and becomes fun loving and always gets praise for her confidence. If the leaks are true, and Popplio3 is the final evolution, it kinda goes to her head and she becomes a diva, but still has a heart of gold and whenever she meets someone who feels unloved or unappreciated, she’ll try to cheer them up.

            Will have to split these up by post as they’re a bit big ^^;

          • I love it, I’m already thinking of how her and litten would interact. I could see her as the one who Beltigre and kommo-o are always fighting over lol

          • That’d certainly fit into her diva personality! What’s also kinda funny is that if she ends up a Fairy-Type, she’ll end up super effective on both so maybe she fights them off and rejects them before getting them interested again to make more drama?

            Also, I’ll reply to this post with Tsareena’s story since that’s the second biggest after Popplio’s

            Salandit (if the evo is diva-ish enough, Fire Oricorio if it isn’t)
            Cutiefly’s final evo (if it’s not only a two stage line)
            Sensu Oricorio if I don’t use the fire one

          • Tsareena: Like Popplio, Bounsweet started off a bit unsure of herself, but rather than being unloved she felt scared and was a shrinking violet, as she was a weak Pokémon in her Bounsweet form. Aphrodite fought off a *insert nearest Bug, Fire or Flying Type to where Bounsweet is found in game* and earned a bit of trust, ending in her being caught by my character. She starts off as a bit of a dandere, being quiet and reserved, but evolves when she returns the favour to Aphrodite and defeats a Pokémon away to beat her. She becomes a bit of a deredere, and is happy and free of any thought. She eventually evolves and becomes a superdiva, being standoffish and cold if you don’t know her. She doesn’t want to be seen as nice, but does subtle nice things. Basically, a tsundere.

          • she sounds like litten, he acts like a tough guy but really a teddy bear on the inside lol but I really like their stories. I’m excited to hear more

          • Got a few more, leaving Cutiefly for now but I’ve got the portion of Salandit’s story when it’s a Salandit and Sensu Oricorio if I use it.

            Salandit: Basically a Himedere who tries to get everyone to do what she wants, and uses her pheromones to get men and male Pokémon to so what she wants (she also gets really annoyed when they’re immune to it, but I don’t know whether I’ll make it that it doesn’t effect gay people or if some people have a genetic resistance to it). She has a huge rivalry with Tsareena as she’s the only one who can invoke anger in her at her Steenee stage, and bullies her due to the major type advantage over her. Tsareena mostly blows Salandit off though. She tries to pick fights with Popplio3, but their typing (assuming Popplio ends up Fairy) makes them evenly matched.

          • Sensu Oricorio: On an excursion to a forest of purple flowers, the team hear a beautiful singing voice. Brionne/Popplio3 find it amazing/is jealous (depends on evo stage) and wants to listen closer/have a sing-off. The Sensu Oricorio is then located and Brionne/Popplio3 singsback to it. They either form a friendship/rivalry and they battle, with my character catching Oricorio. She seems like she’s not emotional at all, but is really a mother-hen figure.

          • I could even see her mothering Pokémon she only just met or trying to mother Pokémon that have literally had children.

          • you just gave me an idea, maybe I find one of my pokemon as an egg(alolan growlithe if it exist) she’s the one that’s always mothering it up til it hatches and consider Ori as its mom it’s just weird because an alolan growlithe is bigger is running behind this bird like it’s his mom lol

          • Thats just adorable, I can see her doing that! Heck, if we manage to pull of this project with tons of people writing in the same ‘universe’, I can see a whole bunch of eggs just dissappear becuase she’s made a nest and is attempting to hatch them all

          • and Pikipek could be her accomplice since she likes to steal and looks up to Ori, I really hope we could pull this thing off

          • I can just imagine Pikipek thinking Oricorio is boring until she pulls of the egg heist and then gets really impressed

            And yeah, I really hope it will take off. It could be so much fun!

          • I agree, well if you have anymore background stories dont hesitate to hit me up or if you have any ideas on where to start with the project.

          • lmao they sound worst than litten3 and kommo-o, but I love these I could just picture them all bickering??, the gay people being resistant is smart maybe other pokemon produce pheromones that counteracts with hers which render them useless

          • Yeah, I’m thinking since Bounsweet’s line produces fragrances they kinda cancel each other out and that’s why Salandit bullied Bounsweet/Steenee and starts fights with Tsareena.

        • Same, though mine was found back in Hoenn but didn’t join me until I reached Alola. It works because I’m buying one copy of each game and am playing through one then the other one after the update.

          • Thats cool. im not 100% sure if im getting both as of yet but thinking about it…i just dont like to go through the story twice i usualy create a whole new character based off my son going through his own journey lol

          • I have to get both copies. I have to many Pokemon to only get one copy. I wouldn’t have enough room to get all the new Pokemon.

          • I have quite a few multiples from past games…… I have like 8 or 10 Dragonite. And at least 7 Garchomp.

    • The over-critical meta tends to kill any of that sadly.
      Hopefully the bottletops and Super Training can fix that (though Super Training is a really crappy minigame tbh).

  13. So Olivia has a Nosepass and a Lycanrock, but the third Pokémon is absent from both trailers. Have we seen the Geodude line in any trailers yet? How about Onix? I could see her third Pokémon being a Rock-type Alolan form.

  14. In Italian Silvally ability is called “Sistema Primevo”. Notice that in Italian Arceus’s specie is “Pokemon Primevo”. I think the relation is clear right now.

  15. I just realized alolan grimer and muk are based off of those shimmering puddles you see in parking lots after it rains from all the chemicals that leaked from cars. Makes sense for tropical area that rains a lot.

I miss the gender diference, some of the new pokemon need gender diference so much, Lurantise is one of them, I know that it a reverse flower mantice, but still, others like popplio and some many other pokemon need it, it was a ver cool idea that they compeleltly abandoned now, it game the game more depth :/ :/

      • in this gen there is no mention of it at all, even thought some alolan forms had gender diference, in gen 5 and 6 there was many pokemon that could have benefited from gender difernce

  17. We got some pretty good information this go around. Love Type: Null’s “evolution” and I’m totally digging Jangmo-o’s line too. Now I need to revamp my teams… What’s everyone thinking as far as their teams with the new info? Here are mine.

    Cosimo (Sun 1): Although Cosimo may switch over to Moon… We will see.

        • yeah, I really like lycanroc midday, its a beautiful creature. my friend is the one with sun however, so he gets priority over that form if he chooses. and Drampa is one of my favorites revealed, but I kinda have a thing for using duplicate types on my team (though ninetails and Sirenade share a type, so its not too big a deal.)

  21. So after reading alolan grimers description I am once again amazed at the subtle world-building that has much bigger implications for the series.
    Alolan grimer were imported from other regions to deal with the growing amount of garbage created by Alola’s increasing population.

    That is almost poetic in its implications! Grimer was formed by the increasing pollution in Kanto’s big cities and is now being used to clean up the pollution of Alola’s. It has come full circle :D!

    • gotta wonder how that impacted the eco system though. look at yungoose (still I gotta wonder where yungoose came from originally). if theres so much garbage, I wonder why they don’t have trubbish? guess its too early to say they DONT for sure, but I think you get my point.

      • Well there’s always gonna be some give and take to any fix to a major problem. But I’d imagine that the environmental issues aren’t all that bad. Grimer isn’t just pollution…it’s sentient pollution lol. So it can move around and not necessarily be a constant polluting force in any given area.

        And it probably wouldn’t adapt as it already eats garbage :p

    Ps:And for those who said GF wasn’t very open minded, now we have a trainer who’s clearly out of the closet, a black professor oak and a transgender starter. It doesn’t get better than that, does it?
