  1. I wonder if Gladion named Silvally. Type:Null sounds like the name of an experiment, so maybe when it evolved he decided to give it a ‘real’ name.

      • But its theorized that he’s really with/from the AF. They really care about Pokemon, and even Gladion has hinted at worrying about Pokemon in battle.

        • Just because they worry about pokemon doesn’t affiliate them with AF. That’s a natural instinct within us, so maybe he’s had it rough. Who knows maybe GF will pull a celebi event where we go back in time to see Gladion’s past like we did with Silver.

          • That alone doesn’t make the connection, but you have to consider that he, Lillie, and Lusamine share striking similarities. And with Type:Null being an experiment, where do you think he got it from?

          • Perhaps’s he pulled a Shelly, where she worked with Devon and then left them. Or like a Zinnia (Which I want her to return, can’t be the only one >.<). But the similarities are noteworthy, alongside the similarities of the Ultra Beasts with the Lusamine, Lillie, and perhaps Gladion.

      • They’re not evil, they’re delinquents.
They’re capable of compassion to Pokemon on their own team, they just like causing humans trouble.

  2. Woah so many evolutions. :0
Anyway, I really like Silvally, it’s really majestic and a great design (even though it’s pretty much the same as Type Null). One thing I found as interesting was that the artwork for Silvally was the Fire Type one with Gladion holding 3 Memories. Maybe Gladion is somewhat of a rival and puts the memory that is super effective on your starter on it? IDK, probably false, but it’s interesting to see.
Jangmo-O’s evolutions, Hakamo-O and Kommo-O, are great. They have this Native American warrior look to them, like the Aztecs, and that’s great for the first Dragon/Fighting. Speaking of which, WE GOT A DRAGON/FIGHTING!!!!
Now onto the rest. Bounsweet’s evolutions took a turn I wasn’t expecting at all. While I am slightly disappointed that it’s another Humanoid 3-stage looking Mon, I’m ok with it. Tsareena does look very strange looking, yet I’m curious about its ability though.
Cutiefly’s evolution was to be expected, as we’ve seen it a month ago. Personally, I don’t mind the evolution. It does its job at what Cutiefly was supposed to evolve into, and the result was some I enjoy.
Now, last but not least, Alolan Muk. I got to say it’s trippy looking, like it swallow a bunch of glow sticks. But I’m a fan of its design, the garbage parts on it look cool.

    • You know, I watched Youtubers do breakdowns of Jangmo-o’s line and one giant counter to it is the fairy type. However, if this thing gets dragon dance, plus its ability Soundproof, it will wreck house on fairy. Hell, just b-pass Extreme Evoboost onto it. One Poison Jab from it will OHKO M Gardevoir, and it can’t do much back aside from the occasional Psychic/Psyshock.

      • And also there are other Dragons with Quad weaknesses (like Dragonite, Salamence, and Garchomp) and they are still good. I’m faithful that Kommo-O will be a good mon to use

    • Kinda felt like the Dragon/Fighting guys looked more Egyptian than Aztec. The first stage had scales that look like their necklaces that made their necks (look?) longer. And the second stage looks like it has a Pharoah hat thing.

    • :O YOu might be on to something here. Cause in the English trailer, it shows the Multi move, with Silvally attacking the starters.

  3. NOTE: The Japanese trailer indicates that Mega Kanghaskan’s ability Parental Bond’s second hit, has been reduced to 25% damage.

  4. I LOVE ALOLAN MUK SO MUCH!! Even more than regular Muk tbh (which is a relief because I hate Alolan Grimer). Do you suppose this disproves all those crappy MS Paint sketches that were floating around last night?

  5. Im so going to use Bounsweet’s evolution on my team! Particularly the second and totally majestically third evolution. Now I need to find a way to have all the pokemon I want on my team.
I’m also loving Type Null evo. And I’m curious of Gladion would be a tough trainer to battle as he would use different types of items to make his null supereffective to my pokemon. I’m curious as to how this plays out.

And ilima, is so totally a guy. A cute as well! XD

  6. Including Alolan forms, ones we haven’t seen but know exist for sure, Including the Dolphin Snowman and Marshadow. the other 3 island guardians, and The third in the trio of Solgaleo and Lunala, and excluding potential evolutions, the known number of new pokemon so far is 80, we’ve passed X/Y, and that’s a good sign.

  7. I’m more accepting of Silvally now it’s in regular art and not that crazy sensationalist stuff, but I’m still not its biggest fan. It’s lore is odd though given the actual meaning of ‘somatic cell’.

Still not sure about Grimer and Muk, but Muk’s design is less lazy and its lore is reasonable.

Hakamo-o and Kommo-o look better in battle, but I’m still not a fan.
I suppose its abiltities are justified at least. Also they’re oddly short.

I like Steenee and Tsareena more than I expected I would.
(Damn, so many good Grass types this time.)

I suspect this means they’re female-only, but I’ll have to check over old videos to be sure. The whole ‘tomboy’ thing is probably a reference to either the cliche of young princesses not being lady-like and eventually growing to be a good ruler.

And lastly, the one I’ve been waiting for, Ribombee.
Definately going to be on my team.
    Praying for a 3rd form.

    • I want a third form as well, but I’m losing hope now. Why would the keep its final form from us when they gave us just that for Bounsweet?

      Reply
    • So far, from the line’s reveal trailers, it only showed the HP bar for Tsareena, and both the Japanese and English trailer show female Tsareenas.
      So it might be

      • I checked that, I meant checking back at Bounsweet to be sure.
A male Bounsweet wouldn’t be damning, but no male Bounsweet would be good evidence for an all female line.

I’d be ok with that, I don’t mind all female lines (except for the old issue of getting 5/6IV Dittos to breed with, but that’s not an issue anymore) and this would be the first all-female line I’d be able to put in my favourites list.

  8. What music is that that plays in English trailer? I didn’t really think anything of it, but I just caught myself whistling it, so I guess my subconscious liked it. :p

    • Horde battles I’m gonna shakily bet will be back, but move tutors are usually kept for third versions and remakes :/ (apart from special move ones obviously) .

      Reply
      • I’m hoping that with all the changes they are making that the move tutors will be here and not til the second game of the generation. I’m preparing myself just in case they aren’t though.

  9. Calling it now, Salandit, Popplio3 and Tsareena are all said to have different methods of effecting people’s minds and the former two are elegant Pokémon, so if Lusamine is battle able she’ll have all three. Especially since only female Salandit have the pheromones and the Riddler hinted its evolution will be based off a beautiful (or once beautiful, or pretending to be beautiful) woman.
