So I averaged the presumed estimated for the Alolan forms (ex: 4~6 theoretically equals 5), then subtracted each of the types we’ve already seen in Alolans. This got me to a total of 31 unseen Alolan forms, assuming they’re all monotype. This is unlikely, however, so let’s say 1/5 are monotype (since that’s the current statistic based on what we have). This gives us roughly 6 monotype, and 12 dual types. 18 unseen Alolan forms. 18 plus the 10 we have is 28 total Alolan forms. And by my previous calculation of 67 Pokemon that know of, we have a minimum of 95 new Pokemon.

A better maximum is 145, based upon some well-founded assumptions. Subtracting types to account for two Ice/Ghosts (the snowmen), 1 Flying (the toucan) and 3 Fairies (the Tapus), helped narrow that down a bit more.

Hmmmm interesting…..I’m god with this. It seems like GF want to slow down a little in terms of making new Pokemon and that’s understandable as we’re getting to very high numbers. With just a little over the amount we got from XY, plus the Alolan forms we have a decent amount of new designs to pick from. The Alolan forms I think in this respect are better than megas were in XY as they are base Pokemon without any need to use and item and they are forever essentially. they are in their own right new Pokemon so that’s why I think I don’t mind there being less new Pokemon in general.

So I just had a bit of a realization. Sorry if someone has already brought this up, but I just realized that the forms list from the leaked dex is not just Alolan forms, its all forms period. Take a look at it. It says according to them we’ve already scene a new water form, but we haven’t gotten any new alolan water pokemon. However we have gotten one new water form min the form of Ash-Greninja. Assuming this, the total number of Alolan forms might actually be less, and perhaps some of those numbers could even be new Megas if you’ll allow me to reach.
I dont think we are getting new megas still. they are gonna push z-moves in sun/moon

As well their’s still the elephant that the Japanese Trailer didn’t feature mega evolution, so perhaps they still have something bigger going on?

I noticed that with the 4* indicating Oricorio and accounted for that as best I could in my calculations.
I find it curious that there are supposedly 6 dark types (at max two 3 stage lines) and yet none have been revealed. Also, this list means the other leaker saying the snowman pokemon is ice/ghost is incorrect, no? If I’m interpreting this right, there’s one more 3-stager for ghost pokemon and only 1 two-stage or 2 single-stage ice pokemon.

What I’m pointing out is that as far as dramatic changes go, Dragonite is just one in a long line, and in my opinion one of the saner ones.
Saner than something doesn’t mean it is actually sane, I guess? Heh heh heh. Also, because there are many insanely jarring evos doesn’t mean it’s the norm, or should be the norm.
And I thought Oshawott was pretty ok, at least it has a unified aesthetic, remains an otter, and doesn’t transform from a blue snake into a four-limbed flying potato…
Dragonite line might have worked (better at least) if it did have a second form that is clearly a cocoon phase like the other things I mentioned before.
Tbh I don’t really see an issue with it.
It’s pretty much how tadpoles and certain newts/salamanders work – start as a snakey thing and grow legs later.
The nose is continuous and the sort of spine/tail thing works. If anything I’d say Dragonair is the odd one out for havinga pearl and the weird wing ears (which I presume are supposed to help it ‘fly’).
Samurott made no sense at all.
Its beard grew from nowhere and becoming quadrupedal made no sense at all. The theme was still clear but it would have made more sense if it stayed bipedal and looked as much like a samurai as Dewott does rather than just having vague armour and mustache references.
I still don’t really buy the Dragonair to Dragonite evolution based on the tadpole thing, because in a similar vein as your Samurott idea, the legs kinda came out of nowhere just like the beard, and as did the belly scales part, probably because it’s an evo that takes place in seconds rather than a growth phase that takes place over time.
I’d probably dig it more if there was a transitory cocoon-ish evo (or even metamorphosis animation) between Dragonair and Dragonite. You do have a point the Dragonair could be the odd one out instead of Dragonite.

That doesn’t really support your negativity though. I’m one of those truth>beauty people, but I choose to take on an objective analytical view for the most part because I know that my words and actions can impact those more faithful than I, and I’d rather not be a negative Nancy all the time.
I’m just being honest as to my opinion of musicals. Anything less would be a distortion of the truth and I’m not going to lie to spare others’ feelings. I would expect no less from other people.

Lolz! I just saw a full Pokémon Generations episode as an ad before a YouTube video. Not that full Generations episodes are long, but 4 minutes for a pre-video YouTube ad? I didn’t think that was even possible ? What does that say about TPC’s confidence in the series?

I never understand ads full stop. Only about 1-2% ever gain my interest, the rest are just waisting time and energy.

The people who own the product advertise their product through the ad and pay the website to host it for them.
But most ads (as far as I’m concerned) don’t actually interest me or make me want to buy something. If anything they do the opposite 60-70% of the time. The companies making the ads could have used the money for something better, like paying their staff more.

I feel this way about all ads, including TV ones. There are very occasionally ads that are enjoyable, but I still don’t want the thing being advertised. Not like I have money for most stuff anyway.
The only reason I’m not so harsh with TV ads is that A) it gives you chance to get up and go to the toilet which you otherwise wouldn’t do, B) if it’s a recording you can just fast forward through them, C) it’s a chance to talk to people you’ve been watching it with if there are any. I still think 80% of TV adverts are crap, especially the loan and PPI ones (whch really shouldn’t be allowed IMO since they’re exploitive), but at least one or two of those are amusing and typically they’re more proportionate to the programme. And sometimes they’re actually advertising other programmes/channels. If youtube adverts were advertising other youtubers I still wouldn’t look them but it would be more relevant at least.
I almost never spend money. Buying Sun & Moon will be the first games I’ve bought in 4 months assuming I don’t suddenly buy something between now and then.
And the only adverts that could actually make me think about buying something would be video game adverts, stuff advertising food available in supermarkets, and maybe deoderant or soap at a push. Even then that’s probably 5-10% of things from those categories that would actually succeed.
Well I mean, 4 minute ads are pretty damaging for content creators. Sometimes if I like the person and the ad is short I will let the ad play so they will make a bit of revenue but I’m not sitting through a 4 minute long ad
I always skip at the first opportunity.
Sometimes I just get rid of the ads alltogether.
Besides, I don’t really watch individual channels, I just watch videos as and when I need them.
As a YouTuber who’s been trying to grow my channel for the last 1+ year, I definitely understand the importance of ads. But 4 minutes is just ridiculous.

Worst thing is when they serve you a 15 minute ad when you want to watch a 30 second ad because it was really funny.

I have nothing against people wanting to advertise. I have a big problem against ads specifically designed to ruin my browsing experience…how on earth is that gonna make me buy your product. In fact it puts me off ever having anything to do with your company .

I double checked and it seems it was used by a Mimikyu rather than a Trevenant. I got mixed up because the background appeared to have spooky dead trees, which are probably part of the attack animation.
