An anonymous poster on 2ch claims to have seen the October issue of CoroCoro, a Japanese comic magazine, and says that the latest issue shows Alolan Ekans and Arbok. They’ve given a few details about it and here are the translations:
- Alolan Ekans & Arbok are Fighting-type
- Their abilities are Fighter Skin, which makes Normal-type moves Fighting and increases their power by 30% (ala Pixilate, etc), and Shed Skin
- Alolan Arbok is light brown and bigger in size than its normal counterpart, but lacks any pattern on its body
- It is a Pokémon Sun exclusive and the CoroCoro issue also reveals that Alolan Sandslash is a Moon exclusive
UPDATE:
Adding in other rumors from 2ch, newest rumors will be added to the bottom. The Alolan Electabuzz & Magmar rumor was preceded by a typo so I think I consider this much shakier than the above Arbok rumor. It would also leave questions regarding their evolutions as well.
- Alolan Electabuzz revealed, new form looks similar to the pudgy Shinto god Ebisu
- Brought electricity to Alola and is seen as a guardian-type figure
- Electric/Fairy-type
- Has the abilities Friend Guard/Healer
- Alolan Magmar
- It walks on all fours and is covered in vines; covered itself in vegetation as a way to survive in the jungles of Alola
- Fire/Grass-type
- New ability that reduces the effectiveness of its opponents attack when it switches to a teammate in battle (teammate will take less damage when it switches in)
Furthermore, one of the posters has promised to post pictures of the issue tomorrow at 7PM Japan Standard Time. Hopefully they’re telling the truth 😉

Pixilate’s Japanese name is Fairy Skin. And since these are supposed Corocoro leaks, it would be the Japanese translation.
In addition, Aerilate is Sky Skin, Refrigerate is Freeze Skin, and Normalize is Normal Skin.
Those are the fakest sounding ‘rumours’ I’ve heard this year.
If these are true I’ll wonder trade away one of my 6IV pokemon.

i feel like if this is true then so be it. the more Alolan forms the better imo.
But i think that they wont reveal the mid starter evos in corocoro. i think they’ll reveal Rockruffs eve and then on wednesday Pokemon will reveal a trailer with rockruff and the starter evos in it. i feel like that makes the most sense.

Hopefully not. I don’t like these rumors really. I mean my favorite thing about Arbok is it’s pattern.
How would a Fighting-Type Arbok work? I’m fifty-fifty on these leaks. A lot of it sounds fake, while I could see it working. I love the idea of a Fire/Grass Magmar. We’ll see in a day or so.

I wrote this about a week ago, but some things have changed already. It’s a pretty comprehensive list of the 151 with my own theories added to further knock down the list.
Out of the 151 original Kanto Pokemon…
Only 10 have been revealed as new Alola forms. These include…
Vulpix, Ninetales, Sandshrew, Sandslash, Exeggutor, Meowth, Raichu, Marowak, Rattata, and Raticate, with Persian most likely having an Alola form as well.
And about 24 have been revealed to not have Alola forms, according to trailers and the Japanese Pokemon site. These include…
Gyarados (and by proxy Magikarp), Spearow, Cubone, Exeggcute, Pikachu, Arcanine (and by proxy Growlithe), Alakazam (and by proxy Abra and Kadabra), Dragonite (and by proxy Dratini and Dragonair), Zubat, Pinsir, Lapras, Psyduck, Slowpoke, Poliwhirl (and by proxy, Poliwag), Hypno (and by proxy, Drowzee) and Snorlax.
We can also probably assume that Charizard, and the other original starter Pokemon will not have Alola forms, and that the legendaries won’t either. That knocks out 9 starters and 5 legendaries, that’s another 14.
If we go further and exclude the 12 Kanto Pokemon that have Mega Evolutions, we can knock out Aerodactyl, Kangaskhan, Ghastly, Haunter, Gengar, Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Pidgey, Pidgeotto, Pidgeot, and Slowbro.
That brings it down to 91 Pokemon that we don’t know whether they will have Alola forms or not.
I want to take it a step farther though. I want to knock out Pokemon that have final evolutions that aren’t counted in the original 151. These include Golbat (Crobat), Oddish, Gloom, and Vileplume (Bellossom), Poliwrath (Politoed), Magnemite and Magneton (Magnezone), Onix (Steelix), Lickitung (Lickilicky), Rhyhorn and Rhydon (Rhyperior), Chansey (Blissey), Tangela (Tangrowth), Horsea and Seadra (Kingdra), Scyther (Scizor), Eevee, Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon (the rest of the Eeveelutions), Electabuzz (Electivire), Magmar (Magmortar), and Porygon (Porygon 2 and Porygon-Z). That’s another 23 Pokemon that I’m pretty certain won’t get Alola forms, since if they do, their evolutions would probably get Alola forms as well that wouldn’t be in the original 151.
Boom, we’re down to only 68 Pokemon left. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that Ditto, Kabuto, Kabutops, Omanyte, and Omastar aren’t going to get Alola forms either, being unique in their own right, which brings us to only 63 Pokemon.
Out of the 63 Pokemon remaining, who do you think will get Alola forms or not? Your guess is as good as mine!
Also consider that many of the later Pokemon games have populated wildlife of various generations, so it’s a bit ridiculous to assume that all of the Kanto Pokemon are going to be available in the wild in the game. It’s likely that there really won’t be all that many Alola forms. I’m going to guess maybe… 25-30 max.

May I ask why you and other people keep insisting that Pokemon seen in trailers will be in the games? What are you basing that off of? I thought “game footage is not final” would’ve disproved all of that.

I checked every trailer and every old pokemon in that trailer expect for torchic( if u count events) can be caught in Kalos

It’s not deceptive in the slightest. Many trailers use Pokemon specifically to showcase the strengths and weaknesses of new Pokemon or go off on a theme. In Turtonator’s reveal trailer they showed it battling other turtle Pokemon only to compare it to other turtles.
They could have picked any pokemon, they don’t need themes. It makes more sense for them to just run into the grass and battle the first pokemon they encounter.
Putting pokemon into the wild just to showcase another pokemon is more effort than the benefit it would provide.
They probably just brought them in from previous games to not make it obvious.
Again, more effort than the result is worth.
until now we didn’t see any alolan form while his original is exist except player’s mother Meawoth….we didn’t see orginal raichu , Marwak …..etc.
meowth was there to show proof your from a other region. you just moved to Alola
for sure.
The only evidence I have is that all the Pokemon shown in the XY trailers were in the regional dex I believe, but with the amount we’re seeing I doubt it. But, I do think each island will have like 100 dex slots.
the pokedex with 3 pokemon in SuMo is 1% meaning round that off you get close to 300. because ur not gonna have a 1.1% of a dex its gonna be rounded
