  1. Not to sound greedy, but I’m really looking forward to the leaks. Rockruff has so much potential (and I just had a dream that I had a demo of sun and moon or something and I encountered Cutiefly’s final evo before anyone else). Beyond that, I used to think I wouldn’t check until the games came out because of all the spoilers, but this game is so damn big, I have no idea what is a major spoiler and what is a basic new element to the game. On top of that, GF has never revealed all the pokemon, so Ill be fine. That said, leakers and data miners will not be getting any views from me because I want some surprises!

    • I’m not looking at anything 2 weeks prior to the game. I was going to stick around for the leaks, but this time we have an actual story and way too much to be leaked.

  2. Man.
All of my pokemon are brought over from XY or were hatched in ORAS.
They all have the pentagon, and none of them are hacked.
So why does it say some of my pokemon are banned? .-.

  3. Also, I feel like for a while, there were pokemon being released left and right with interesting, new, competitive abilities. Now all the new ones seem to have abilities we’ve seen before that while helpful, aren’t new or interesting.

I want new abilities! Komala, Oricorio, Bruxish, Mimikyu- these abilities are so impressive and game shaking.

What new abilities would you like to see?

    Reply
    • They can’t give everything new abilities or we’d end up with the number of abilities rivalling the number of pokemon. They should always try to keep new abilities to less than half of the number of new pokemon.

You forgot Salandit’s Corrosive by the way. Steel types will never sleep again.

I wish Illuminate hadn’t already been defined as attracting wild Pokemon because I would have liked it to either weaken or resist Dark moves, which would make Illumise and Morellul more powerful.

I’d like a variation of Mold Breaker thats more accessible to other pokemon, at the moment it seems to be heavily oriented towards pokemon that are already tough (except Basculin, nobody likes Basculin). And a variation of Magic Bounce usable by some of non-mystical pokemon (at the moment it’s restricted to dark, fairy and psychic types). The same for Magic Guard.

For entirely new abilities, I’d like to see some abilities that make all moves of a certain type have an added chance to cause a status effect if they don’t already have it.

      For example:
A Water/Electric pokemon with an ability that makes all Water moves have a small chance to paralyse.
A Normal/Electric pokemon with an ability that makes all Normal moves have a small chance to paralyse.
A Normal/Fire pokemon with an ability that makes all Normal moves have a small chance to burn.
      etc.

        • I was thinking 5% so it’s not too OP, but 10% if it’s not too spammy.

I think multi strike moves would incur the ability on each hit anyway, so using something like Barrage or Comet Punch and it landing 5 times means you’d have something like a 25% chance of success. (I know that’s not quite how it works, but you get the point).

10% would up that to 50% on 5 hits.

          Reply
          • I agree it would powerful for multi hit moves, but there are very few of them, and the chances of you hitting all 5 times or even 4 for that matter are low. At most it will be 2-3 hits each times (20-30%).

5% could work, but the thing with abilities like these is…it just amplifies the luck aspect of the game more so than it already us.

          • We’re talking about a new ability so introducing new moves with it wouldn’t be out of the impossible.

It would be nice to get some more multi strike moves anyway, Aipom and Ambipom only learn two and Cloyster and Shelder only learn three.

Luck has been there from the day they had accuracy and evasion, it’s impossible to avoid it.

The stacking isn’t that straight forward.
Ignoring evasion and accuracy, that’s a 5% chance of the effect activating and a 95% chance of it not activating. If it hits, all other hits are irrelevant because status can’t be applied twice, so that’s an effective 100%, if it missed then the next hit has a 1/20 chance of activating the effect, and so on.

For a 5% effect over 5 hits the chance of not working is 77% (0.95 ^ 5 * 100) and the chance of being applied is 23%
            For a 10% effect it would be 59% (0.90 ^ 5 * 100) chance of not working and 41% chance of working.

    • Oh and one I forgot:

A pokemon with an ability that
prevents entry hazards from being placed and automatically removes entry
      hazards upon entering battle.

      Best. Ability. Ever.

        • Exactly. So tired of Rapid Spin and Defog being the only viable options to combat them since those moves pretty much only have that one use.

      • I want more refrigerate and pixelate like abilities.

Plus can there be an ability that causes ghost types to be hit by normal/ fighting moves. Maybe call it afterlife, or medium.

Maybe an ability that makes it so recharge moves can be used one right after another without the recharge. Like an infinite sunny day.

        Reply
        • Yeah. Call the Ghost one Spookify after the ability in Pokemon Shuffle. Water can be Liquify or something.

You mean like an inverse of Scrappy? http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Scrappy_(Ability)
I’d probably call it something like ‘Haunt’ or ‘Poltergeist’

Would be OP but handy, might need a luck element to it or a trade off, like doing so reduces a stat (evasion or something).
A sunny day type thing for solar beam and solar blade would be good.

          Reply
          • Oh it was just scrappy… The solar ability would be nice too. The OP recharge ability needs something to nerf it. Though it may not be as bad if they just reduced the power by a third. It could also make them act like protect instead, where it gets worse accuracy as it goes in succession too if they wanted. A hyper beam like that could be op but you wouldn’t be able to spam it that bad.

  4. What if for the next gimmick for the next Pokemon game of Gen 8, it’ll be something that would cause two Pokemon to fuse together as one, such as Venustoise and Kyurem (considering that it’ll be out the same time as it’s 10th anniversary, 2020)

    Reply
    • I don’t think they need a gimmick, they just need a good story.
Besides which, gen 7 isn’t even over yet, there’s no sense thinking about gen 8

      Reply
      • Like there’s no sense with all these coincidental cameos within the anime. Face it, they are far more ahead than any of us ever think. They’re already planning for Gen 8 just as we speak.

        Reply
        • They’ve had the ability to fuse/chain moves in the anime since forever and they never added that mechanic to battles despite having it in contests (to a degree).

  5. I just noticed something: why hasn’t anyone recreated the route music or the festival music from the E3 gameplay? Anothe weird thing: we have no town names yet.

    Reply
      • What confuses me is this: in the E3 footage, when we leave the house there is no town name title (you know, like the one that appears when we enter route 1). There’s also nothing when we enter the festival, and that’s gotta be a town. But that was a cutscene so idk.

        Reply
        • Yeah, the name was something like that.
Verdant means green, as in having lots of plant life, so it will be that cave Team Skull were occupying in one of the trailers.

  6. Just hope the leaks will come on the 11th or the 12th, cause if we have to wait the 13th, it’s better not to have any and just wait for the 14th official trailer.

  8. I found out that one Pokémon that I got from a local trade from a friend was QR coded and hacked.. So I am now in the process of breeding it again. It’ll take about an hour or so..
