Mega Magearna Leaked by Japanese Pokémon Site?

mega-magearna-rumorThe official Japanese Pokémon site has some interesting lines of code if you check their page on new and returning Pokémon coming in Sun & Moon. You can see to the right that they are broken up into different sections, which include Partners, Guardian Angels (guardian deity), and… Megas?!

Not only have new Mega Evolutions not been revealed for Pokémon Sun & Moon, but the only Pokémon listed is Magearna which has no known Mega Evolution to speak of. This is certainly an interesting twist which may mean nothing, but it may be something.

  1. I think there will be megas, but since they’re not the focus point this time (GF ALWAYS enphatise on new mechanics), they maybe will not be shown until the last trailer.

  5. For an idea of a new bug type Pokemon, I would like to see a Mud Dauber. It would be a Bug/Ground type, and the appearance would be it’s body looks mostly like mud, as if it got splatted with it. The underside looks greenish/blue. It’s wings on the outside also look like it’s been covered in mud, but the insides are translucent. It has a few greenish/blue stripes on it’s back, with that same coloration on the outer parts of it’s legs. It’s legs are long, with the back legs the longest, and each leg has a large claws looking like hooks. It’s stringer has greenish/blue stripes too, and the shape is similar to a jackhammer. Lastly, it’s face looks similar to the rest of it’s body, having antennae and angry looking yellow eyes.

          • I’m really hoping for a Dragon/bug type or a another Dragon Poison. Dragegle is great, but its kinda fragile. I’ve had mine totally destroyed nearly every time I’ve used it.

          • I tend to focus on fast speed and hard hits, my Dragegle doesn’t have the speed I like using and ends up getting pounded. Though it might be more usefull as of sun and moon with the new training thing.

          • Yea, that would be cool. I do find it strange that Magearna is the only Pokemon that was in the Mega List. Perhaps they haven’t actually posted a Mega page but plan to put one up, and Magearna is going to be on it.

  6. I hope so. I really love the idea of Megas and what they brought to this past gen. Even if we only get a handful of them this generation, I’ll be a happy camper.

    • I think they will …..I feel mega evolutions r connected With Xerneas and Yveltal…..maybe Z-stones r connected with S&M legendary.

        • I can see them adding no new Megas. They don’t need them anymore, the Alolan versions fill the “novelty for the old Pokémon” spot the Megas filled in Gen VI (and conventional evolutions and babies filled in IV – and these seemed to be a mainstay and were all but scrapped as well).

  10. New megas would be awesome! It’d show game freak care enough not to forget last gen’s new concept despite it being ripe with creative possibilities, simply in favour of bombarding us with Alola forms because they’re new. That would give me more faith in their creative integrity.

    I hope this isn’t simply a typo, or that we still get megas if it is. I’m still gonna bet we get none though so I don’t get dissapointed.
    I’m gonna be really salty if all we get is gen I alolan forms, and nothing else new in the way of pokémon forms.

    Magearna is among my least favourite gen VII pokés, so I’m not fussed about a mega for it, but it makes it resemble diancie more, so that’s cool I guess (and fittingly I was just as uninterested in Diancie getting a mega :p ) .

    If we do get megas, I’d bet were pretty much guaranteed to get a set of starters (probably gen II the next logical step, VI because of Ash-Greninja, or IV, just a gut feeling), as well as evolutionary counterparts like slowking and froslass, a few remaining pseudos, probably hydreigon and dragonite (I swear if we get an Alola form instead…), and finally a few more gen V megas because they’re so rare.
    I’d also expect us to get Milotic to counterpart gyarados, and flygon because it needs/deserves it, and one was actually intended for it.

  13. I still hope that Mega and Alolan formes’ inclusion doesn’t mean that GameFreak is gonna forget about adding some new cross-gen evolutions again though..

    • Honestly, I think we won’t be seeing cross gen evos again for a long long time if again, ever. Both the aforementioned seem like Gamefreak’s way of revisiting old pokemon whilst circumventing the dilemma of adding to the dex number.

      In some cases Megas can be very frustrating though in my experience. An example being Mawile, which has a paltry BST total without its mega and yet becomes basically broken with it. Not only this but Mega evolving it every single battle to truly be useful in game became such an annoyance i dropped Mawile sadly. A regular evo would have been more balanced and meant not having to endure the mega evo sequence EVERY battle XD theres also the confusing cases of Banette, Absol etc. Who have fancy abilities that dont really fit their base stats.

  16. I feel like this isn’t true, I believe that “mega” is just a mistranslated “mythical” as Magearna is not found anywhere else besides the “mega” folder

    • Mega isnt being mistranslated. The translation for mythical for japan is illusory so I don’t think isn’ts being mistranslated.

  17. Hey, I just inspected the page and it has the same as in the pic. Try it. Just right click and at the bottom is a button ‘Inspect’, and it pulls the same thing up.

    Note: When I scroll over the coding, it highlights Magearna

  19. there r a lot of pokemon who deserve mega n I don’t know bout game freak y there emphasis on gen 1 a lot now alola forms of gen 1 it’s un fair with other gens esp gen 5 n 6 only one mega evolution ……….. audino n diance ……
    if they don’t like to pursue other gens then y they made them …… just introduce gen 1 in every gen n game in my opinion one of the worst gen is gen 1 ….
    total stupid …..
