The latest edition of Japanese comic magazine CoroCoro has been leaked and we are currently translating it for any new information 🙂
- Bear is called Kiteruguma. It is described as cute yet deadly. It is classified as the powerful-arms Pokémon. It’s hug is dangerously strong and people in the Alola region regularly put warning signs out. It is Normal/Fighting with abilities Fluffy/Klutz. It’s name is possibly a play on words for “to wear” and “it’s here!”
- Deflated Pikachu-esque Pokémon is Mimikkyu. It is a Ghost/Fairy type with the ability Disguise and is said to lurk in the darkness. It is classified as the bakenokawa (a veil hiding a monster) Pokémon. The body is black and the Pikachu-looking part is actually cloth-like and covers it from the sun. The article warns people about looking under its veil. It’s name seems to come from ears, mimic and ~kkyu (cute/timid sounding),
UPD1: A clearer scan of a section with Mimikkyu’s information has surfaced: “The reason that Mimikkyu resembles Pikachu…!? It modelled itself after Pikachu goods that were all the rage 20 years ago?! It seems it wants to make friends with humans just like Pikachu“.<3 PJ

they truly are keeping the designs simple. I’m not even mad, sometimes less is more.
The thing is, the more simple Pokemon become, the more believable they are and feel as though they’re real animals. I don’t know if that’s just me though. xD

Everyone’s hyped about/hating on the new Pokémon and I’m still finding myself wondering what the heck does Corocoro say about Rockruff in those bubbles.
PikaGhost is really cool.

I love pink + cute pokemon, but I am just not feeling this bear. Then again, Sugi is not involved with the artwork, so maybe in-game it will look better.

I can see a running gag in the anime where the red panda Pokemon is captured by James and everytime it comes out of its PokeBall hugs James to death. Brings back memories of Cacturne and Carnavine.

That bears description is thehing of nightmares but hey its cute, and OMG FINALLY A GHOST/FAIRY!!! My two favourite types!!!! I really hope they both evolve too and become even more awesome

. . . I am at a loss for words right now. The ghost looks alright I guess, but the bear doesn’t transition from color to color well. It’s shape is awkward, and it looks very very poorly designed. The bear just isn’t pleasant to look at.
My thoughts exactly
They should’ve put fur around the neck or something, the transition from grey to black is disgusting. It’s paws are bigger than its arms, but not in a cute well done way. That white fur on his head has no depth. It looks like a carboard cut out.
Maybe it’ll look better in-game?
At first these looked weird but they grew on already XD i like the ghost/fairy one, looks like what wobuffet shouldve been, and OMG ITS A RED PANDA PKMN THATS AWESOME!!!!
They really are giving us some unique typings this time around. Plus the designs have been pretty great thus far(some may disagree lol) either way I think this gen is shaping up to be a very diverse group of Pokemon and it should be awesome lol

Never would’ve guessed that a red panda would be a fighting type. I hope it drops the normal type when it evolves. There are few times a normal dual typing are actually beneficial

Well, those designs are…interesting. They really have to grow on me. Those type combinations are unique, at least!
Changing topics a little, new anime news has been released and it seems Ash VS Alain will be two episodes long, the Malamar trio are returning or James’ Inkay is evolving, and Korrina might be returning. Additionally, the Team Flare arc will be concluding and seems to span more than 6 episodes back to back! #HYPE

Well! I dont hate the bear pokemon but I dont know, I just dont see myself using it. The good thing here is that pokemon is creating a lot of pokemon, hope they keep doing more. The one that looks like Pikachu, mmmm sounds good to me, wanna here how it turns like that, I mean, some pokemon ghost type were human that turned into a ghost
